Sheng Chenjin: "For yourself!"
Shi Xinxin said with a smile, "You wish!" Sheng Chenjin chuckled, "Oh, so it's for me then."
Sheng Chenjin took Shi Xinxin's hand and walked towards the ladies' section.
They entered a jewelry store.
The store manager greeted them warmly and asked solicitously, "What style are sir and madam looking for?"
Sheng Chenjin pulled Shi Xinxin to the counter, pointed to a necklace in the display case, and said to the manager, "Bring me that one."
"Certainly," the manager replied respectfully.
She then took the sapphire necklace out of the glass display case and handed it to Sheng Chenjin.
Sheng Chenjin glanced at Shi Xinxin and said, "Let me put it on for you."
Shi Xinxin took the necklace and said with a smile, "Okay."
Sheng Chenjin fastened the clasp for Shi Xinxin and looked at her in the mirror, saying, "You look beautiful."
"Thank you," Shi Xinxin said, looking at her reflection. "You're very handsome too."
"You too," Sheng Chenjin laughed.
The manager looked at the young couple and said with a smile, "Our jewelry here is very creative and unique. Would sir and madam like to try some on?"
Shi Xinxin shook her head and said, "No need to trouble you."
"I want to look," Sheng Chenjin insisted.
The manager looked at Shi Xinxin for her opinion.
Shi Xinxin hesitated for a moment and then said, "Let me try it on. I'd like to see what styles suit me."
"Alright!"
The manager immediately called another sales assistant to help.
Shi Xinxin was led into the fitting room by the assistant.
The manager and Sheng Chenjin waited by the entrance.
About fifteen minutes later, the fitting room door opened.
Shi Xinxin emerged wearing a pure white strapless mermaid dress, revealing her slender legs. She wore matching high heels, looking noble and elegant.
The manager couldn't help but exclaim, "So beautiful! This dress is practically tailor-made for you!"
Shi Xinxin glanced at her reflection and was momentarily stunned.
She asked in surprise, "Are you sure this dress was tailor-made for me?"
Shi Xinxin found the design of the dress so unique that she found it hard to believe.
She had never seen such a beautiful dress!
Wearing it, she looked like a blooming white lotus.
Sheng Chenjin was also mesmerized.
"Yes," the manager nodded confidently. "When you wear it, you radiate with brilliance."
Shi Xinxin lowered her head and examined herself carefully.
Indeed, wearing this dress, she looked ethereally beautiful.
"Does it look good?" Shi Xinxin looked up at Sheng Chenjin.
"Yes!" Sheng Chenjin nodded.
"It looks good, I'll take this one," Shi Xinxin said happily.
The manager immediately instructed the sales assistant to process the payment.
Shi Xinxin linked arms with Sheng Chenjin and said with a sweet smile, "Let's go."
"Wait a moment!"
Sheng Chenjin suddenly stopped Shi Xinxin.
Shi Xinxin looked at Sheng Chenjin in confusion.
Sheng Chenjin looked at the sales assistant and asked, "How much is this dress?"
The sales assistant smiled and replied, "This is a limited edition. There are only six sets worldwide, and it's quite expensive. We only sell six sets in our store. If sir likes this dress, he can have madam try on the remaining three sets."
Sheng Chenjin looked at Shi Xinxin and asked, "Do you like this dress?"
"Yes!" Shi Xinxin nodded without hesitation.
"Since you like it..." Sheng Chenjin paused slightly, then said to the sales assistant, "We'll take three sets. Please pack up the remaining three sets for us."
Shi Xinxin's mouth fell open in surprise. "You..."
Sheng Chenjin smiled faintly and said, "I doubt you'd mind having more, would you?"
Shi Xinxin smiled and said, "Of course not."
How could she mind?
Any girl who saw such a beautiful dress would fall in love with it.
She didn't just like this one; she loved them all.
After Sheng Chenjin paid, he left the store with Shi Xinxin, hand in hand.
"I'll treat you to dinner tonight," Sheng Chenjin suggested suddenly.
"Okay," Shi Xinxin agreed without hesitation.
Sheng Chenjin took Shi Xinxin to the most luxurious restaurant in the city for dinner.
"What would you like to drink?" Sheng Chenjin asked Shi Xinxin.
"You decide, I'm fine with anything," Shi Xinxin said with a slight smile.
Sheng Chenjin looked at Shi Xinxin. "Then red wine and lemonade it is."
After the waiter left, Sheng Chenjin asked Shi Xinxin, "You still haven't told me why you chose to participate in this event."
Shi Xinxin lowered her head and let out a shy laugh.
Sheng Chenjin looked at Shi Xinxin, waiting for her to speak.
Shi Xinxin thought for a moment, then mustered her courage and said, "I want to prove myself. I don't want to rely on my family's influence to survive anymore."
"So you took on such a dangerous job?"
"Yes, I know I might be clumsy and not suited for such complex tasks, but I believe I can do very well," Shi Xinxin said, her gaze becoming firm.
Sheng Chenjin looked at Shi Xinxin and asked, "Why didn't you come to me? Don't you trust me to protect you?"
Shi Xinxin shook her head and said, "No, I do trust you. But I don't want you to get into trouble because of me. I know you can handle it, but I'd prefer you to be your true self, to live as the real you. I don't want to be a sheltered young lady. I hope we can face difficulties together."
After hearing Shi Xinxin's words, Sheng Chenjin fell silent.
He looked at Shi Xinxin, speechless for a long time.
Shi Xinxin also quietly watched Sheng Chenjin.
Their gazes met, as if a thousand emotions were intertwined.
"Mr. Gu?"
Shi Xinxin called out.
Sheng Chenjin snapped back to attention and gave Shi Xinxin a faint smile. "Let's eat first, or the food will get cold."
They sat down, talking as they did.
After dinner, Shi Xinxin prepared to leave.
Sheng Chenjin, however, had no intention of leaving.
"Aren't you going back?" Shi Xinxin asked, somewhat surprised.
She had thought Sheng Chenjin would accompany her back, but he wasn't planning to.
"It's Saturday, and we agreed to go to the amusement park together," Sheng Chenjin said.
"Ah? Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Shi Xinxin felt a pang of regret. She should have called him to remind him.
Sheng Chenjin couldn't help but curve his lips at Shi Xinxin's expression.
He said, "You didn't call to ask me either, did you?"
"Okay, it's my fault!" Shi Xinxin lowered her eyes, a little embarrassed.
"It's good that you know," Sheng Chenjin said. "Let's go, we'll head out now."
Shi Xinxin looked a bit troubled. "But I don't know the way, I don't know where to go."
"Where do you want to go?"
Shi Xinxin said, "I don't know either. I've only heard of amusement parks, but I've never been to one."

"Okay!"
They walked out of the restaurant, one after the other.
As soon as Shi Xinxin got into the car, Sheng Chenjin started the engine and drove away.
"How did you know I liked this dress?" Shi Xinxin couldn't help but ask.
