After we left the bunker, we walked up and entered the mansion's main hall. The decoration here was truly luxurious. The walls and floor were resplendent with gold, and the tea tables and dining tables appeared to be made of the finest marble. A European-style chandelier made of amethyst hung from the ceiling. The walls were adorned with many master-level oil paintings, and the floor was covered with a red carpet that bore clear, messy footprints, indicating frequent passage.
We remained silent as we followed Lu Chusheng through the hall, heading towards a room. I had assumed Pierce would be inside, but Lu Chusheng then attached something to the door. He whispered a few words to us.
My eyes widened. He motioned for us to step back. With a deafening explosion, the room's door was blown open. Lu Chusheng then shouted, "Alright, let's go upstairs now!"
He turned and sprinted towards a staircase. We dared not delay and followed him from behind. I soon understood what he had done. He had used the explosion to distract the men in camouflage, hoping Pierce's guards would become less vigilant.
Arriving upstairs, we found ourselves outside a spacious study. The wide door was open, revealing two guards standing inside. Pierce sat regally on a high-end sofa, his back to us, gazing out the window. Opposite him was a high-end automatic window, its blue curtains parted to reveal the night view of the entire Fuming City.
The city, a tapestry of dazzling lights and neon signs, stretched out before us, punctuated by countless high-rise buildings standing side by side. The weather tonight seemed pleasant, with a sky dotted with stars.
"You're finally here! I've been waiting for a long time. The night view is quite nice tonight, isn't it?" Pierce seemed to have anticipated our arrival, holding a wine glass and slowly savoring a glass of red wine while admiring the cityscape.
"Pierce, you seem quite relaxed!"
I led my companions, having quickly dispatched the two guards, and soon had him surrounded.
"Heh, you think you can arrest me just like that?"
"It's just you now. Do you really think you can handle all of us?" I said dismissively.
"Heh, what if I said I could!"
The moment Pierce finished speaking, he lunged forward, grabbing me by the neck. His movements were so swift that I had no time to react. He lifted me completely off the ground and then hurled me violently out the window!
My body was completely out of my control. In his hands, I felt as insignificant as an ant, easily crushed.
As I was thrown out, I heard my teammates desperately shouting my name from behind the window. At this height, I was certain to die. I struggled briefly, but it was futile. Just as I was about to smash into the ground, someone shot past beneath me and carefully caught me.
"Young Master, I'm so sorry, I almost got you killed!" He Xiaoyu suddenly appeared beneath me, swiftly carrying me to a safe area below the mansion. At the same time, I heard sounds of fighting erupting from upstairs, the situation chaotic, with glass fragments raining down. Anxiously, I said to He Xiaoyu, "Go up and help!"
"Don't rush, stay here first!" He Xiaoyu said, then sprang up and returned upstairs. I grabbed my assault rifle, intending to go back and assist. Along the way, I saw many men in camouflage rushing towards me. Without a second thought, I pulled the trigger!
Now I understood why He Xiaoyu had told me not to move. Seeing so many people charging at me, I felt a twinge of regret, wishing I hadn't rushed. But since I had, I couldn't afford to die. I kept firing as I advanced, taking down countless camouflaged figures along the way.
I continued to push forward until I reached the study from which Pierce had thrown me. The room was now a mess, with bookshelves toppled over. I saw Xiao Yuande, Liu Yuning, and others engaged in a gun battle with many camouflaged men. I appeared from behind, pulling the trigger of my assault rifle, eliminating all the camouflaged soldiers in my path. Seeing me safe, Liu Yuning embraced me in surprise.
We had no time for hugs. Gripping our weapons, we stood guard at the doorway, opening fire whenever a camouflaged man attempted to break through.
He Xiaoyu was locked in combat with Pierce. Her slender sword clashed repeatedly with Pierce's broadsword, producing deafening clangors. Each time He Xiaoyu was about to pierce Pierce's heart, he would swiftly parry with his saber, then swing at He Xiaoyu's shoulder!
Each counterattack from Pierce sent a pang of anxiety through me. If He Xiaoyu were to die here, we would be finished. I tried to sneak an attack on Pierce, but he was too fast. If I fired now, I might hit He Xiaoyu. There was nothing I could do but deal with the camouflaged men for the moment.
Initially, they came in waves, and we wasted countless bullets. This mansion was quite something; who knew how many men in camouflage it concealed. After a period of fighting, the reinforcements gradually dwindled, and eventually, no more appeared. We then picked up our weapons and advanced towards Pierce and his men.
Seeing us unharmed, he sneered, "Bastards, so many of you couldn't take them down!"
"Look over there!" I pointed outside the study, where several camouflaged men were now handcuffed.
"Heh, truly useless. But I suppose you've run out of handcuffs, haven't you? You wanted to take me back, didn't you? Go on, make your move!" Pierce stepped back contemptuously.
At that moment, He Xiaoyu continued her attack with her sword, moving with astonishing speed like a swan, lunging towards Pierce. Pierce blocked with his broadsword, but his strength was slightly inferior. He retreated again, forced to the edge of the window.
"Xiaoyu, leave one alive!" I instructed.
"Understood, Young Master. I will arrest him personally!"
"Ahaha, you're too naive to think you can catch me like this!" Pierce cursed, emitting a contemptuous roar of laughter.
"Anytime," He Xiaoyu replied coldly, gesturing for me to hand her a bottle. I tossed it to her. Before Pierce knew what was happening, a strange spray covered his face with a hissing sound!
It was actually the cassia seed chili oil spray I had invented earlier. After being sprayed, Pierce immediately grabbed at his face frantically, letting out a series of screams. He lost his balance and began to fall. I rushed forward and caught Pierce before he could plummet to his death!
