Chapter 37 The Sweep

"Dong."

A dull thud echoed, and the zombie that charged forward first had its head severed.

The head, chopped off by Su Ling's Tang Dao, fell to the ground and rolled a few times. The headless body stiffened and collapsed.

Su Ling kicked it away, clearing her space.

The fall of one zombie did not stop the horde that followed.

Having lost their human consciousness, driven only by the craving for blood and fresh meat, they could no longer be called human.

With a swift movement of her blade, Su Ling easily dealt with the remaining zombies.

For Su Ling, who had been baptized by her space and awakened her abilities early, the zombies in the initial stage of the apocalypse were easy to handle.

Of course, Su Ling did not consider herself overly powerful because of this.

In her past life, when the apocalypse began, she had left her home and followed the sunlight on the path to survival a week after the disaster.

By then, it had already been after a heavy rain.

And after that continuous downpour, the zombies had undergone their first baptism and evolved.

At least, in her past life, they had been difficult to deal with.

Due to the difference in timing, she was unsure of the disparity in speed and strength between the current zombies and those that would evolve after the impending rain.

Zombies would evolve, mutate, and grow stronger, and her path to becoming stronger could not stagnate.

After dealing with the zombies, Su Ling looked at the corpses scattered on the ground. She didn't rush to dispose of them but began to sweep the shelves for supplies.

Anything she deemed necessary in the apocalypse, she collected into her space.

Everywhere she went, the once full shelves were instantly emptied.

The warehouse was vast, and Su Ling spent nearly half an hour collecting all the goods from the shelves into her space.

After emptying the warehouse of its supplies, she also found a large generator for the department store in a corner.

Generators would become essential after the apocalypse, so Su Ling directly put it into her space.

Looking at the empty warehouse, Su Ling discovered a door as she was leaving.

Gazing at the closed door, Su Ling did not recklessly open it. Instead, she picked up the Tang Dao, stained with zombie flesh and blood, and from a safe distance, opened the tightly shut door.

As the door opened, a wisp of cold air seeped out from the gap.

Su Ling's heart leaped with joy. She widened the door further with her Tang Dao.

A freezer!

Beyond her surprise at this discovery, Su Ling knew she was about to make a new haul.

Once the door was open, Su Ling stood outside and, repeating her previous action, blew her whistle.

After blowing the whistle, she waited for a moment. Seeing no movement, she stepped inside.

Upon entering the freezer, Su Ling saw various meat products and frozen seafood, neatly arranged throughout the entire cold storage.

Without any hesitation, Su Ling unceremoniously began moving everything into her space.

As for these meat products and various seafood items that required freezing, even if she wanted to leave them for those who came later, they wouldn't be able to enjoy them. Once the generator stopped operating, all these frozen goods would rot and stink.

Emerging from the freezer, Su Ling returned the way she came.

She stopped in front of the door she had previously locked. She didn't open it immediately. Instead, she bent down and picked up the headless body of the zombie.

After lifting the corpse, Su Ling supported it with one hand while using the other to open the door.

As the door swung open, she swiftly and agilely pushed the body out.

Then, with a "bang," she slammed the door shut, followed by the sounds of eerie wails and screams from outside.

"Ah—"
