Chapter 90 Bagua

As Gu Shangse led Su Ling to his residence, Xu Lin and the other two had already arrived on the new floor.

Unlike the previous day's floor, there were significantly more zombies on this floor.

The lower the floor number, the more zombies there were.

This was especially true for the floor where Xu Lin and his companions were standing, as a restaurant was located there, which had a high foot traffic.

Those survivors who had narrowly escaped the apocalypse's selection met their end under the siege of zombies, ultimately becoming food for them.

The moment the three appeared and shone their flashlights, they saw zombies wandering and growling.

Their numbers were more than multiple times the zombies they had practiced on the day before.

The apocalypse had caused a power outage, and the floor lights were all extinguished. Their only source of illumination was their flashlights.

While illuminated areas didn't require flashlights, there were always places where the light couldn't reach.

Fatty weighed the wolf-tooth club in his hand and looked at Skinny beside him, "Don't be afraid. We've awakened our abilities now. Besides, there are four of us now, and with Gu Shangse here, it'll be twice the result with half the effort."

Speaking of which, Fatty was about to turn around and talk to Gu Shangse.

When he turned, the space behind him was empty; Gu Shangse was nowhere to be seen.

"Huh?" Fatty uttered a sound of confusion, then turned around with his wolf-tooth club and walked back the way they came.

Skinny and Xu Lin, seeing him act this way, followed him. Skinny spoke first, "What's wrong?"

Fatty walked back in a circle and, not seeing Gu Shangse, scratched his head, "Where's Gu Shangse?"

Xu Lin and Skinny, only then realizing that they had felt something was missing from the start, now knew what it was.

"Probably with Su Ling," said Xu Lin. He looked at the door that was ajar, at the light seeping in from outside, and then turned his gaze forward, "Let's clear out the zombies first."

Clenching the police baton in his hand, Xu Lin looked at Fatty and Skinny, "Want to have a competition?"

Hearing Xu Lin's words, Fatty and Skinny were already eager to try. Skinny looked at Xu Lin and gripped his knife, "Let's."

Looking at the knife in his hand, Skinny thought of his and Fatty's shop.

His shop had quite a few cold weapons.

Perhaps later, he would need to tell Su Ling that they had to go back to the shop.

The cold weapons they collected in their shop were all good items, much better to keep for self-defense than to be forgotten in the shop and lose their original value.

Xu Lin smiled, "Then, let's see who kills the most zombies and collects the most crystal cores."

"Okay (Okay.)"

Gu Shangse had expected to encounter zombies blocking their path on the way to his residence with Su Ling.

But in reality, there were none. He even saw quite a few zombie corpses lying by the roadside with their skulls cracked open.

Although there were still aimlessly wandering zombies, they were not enough to be an obstacle to their progress.

Gu Shangse remained silent, focusing on cycling Su Ling towards their destination.

Su Ling sat on the back of the bicycle, her gaze sweeping across the constantly receding scenery and the zombie corpses on the roadside.

And the occasional roadblocks formed by vehicles!

Those zombie corpses were, of course, her doing.

After turning corner after corner, Su Ling saw Gu Shangse's private villa.

She looked at the private villa situated in a prime location, and despite not being one to gossip about others' private lives, Su Ling still spoke, "Gu Shangse."

"Mm?" Gu Shangse let out a soft hum, waiting for her to continue.

Su Ling withdrew her gaze from the villa and fixed it on Gu Shangse's back, "Why did you choose to become a police officer?"
