Chapter 113 The Great Sweep

The medicine was indeed effective. Not long after Zhang Miaomiao took it, the pain in her wound began to subside.

The wound that had been bothering her for days was no longer so unbearable.

During this brief interlude, Gu Shangse and the others had already brought the burritos and the accompanying dishes to the table.

Li Yunlong placed stir-fried beans, shredded potatoes, shredded white radish, and shredded carrots into a spread-out tortilla, rolled it up, and handed it to Zhang Miaomiao.

She accepted it with a smile, her eyes curving, and ate with gusto.

Su Ling drank a little less than half a glass of soy milk before rolling herself a burrito.

She liked chili peppers, so as she added ingredients to the tortilla, she spooned in a small amount of minced garlic and chili sauce.

It was truly delicious. Su Ling devoured about seven or eight burritos.

Even Zhang Miaomiao, known for her small appetite, unusually ate five.

Seeing his girlfriend eating so well, Li Yunlong felt very happy.

After eating their fill, it was time to head downstairs to kill zombies and collect crystal cores.

Su Ling did not join the others. She put on her raincoat and headed downstairs with her Tang knife alone.

She intended to stick to her original plan. If she didn't stockpile and kill zombies every day, she wouldn't feel at ease.

Since the zombies on their floor had already been mostly cleared by Xu Lin and the other two, this building was left to Xu Lin and Li Yunlong. Gu Shangse, along with Fatty and Skinny, accompanied Su Ling.

Zhang Miaomiao remained on the rooftop to recover from her injuries. When Su Ling and the others left, they even locked the rooftop door.

Su Ling and the other three went to another building next to the department store. This area was filled with various shops.

As it was a concentrated dining area, the number of zombies here was not to be underestimated.

The rain was heavy, and the zombies in the open seemed to enjoy the downpour, remaining motionless, enduring the torrential rain.

Su Ling, having lived through this before, looked at the scene and knew that these zombies were undergoing a baptism to evolve.

After this downpour stopped, they would usher in their first evolution after the apocalypse.

For Su Ling, this outcome had both pros and cons.

The good part was that the quality of the crystal cores would improve.

The bad part was that the zombies would become stronger, and dealing with them would be more challenging than before.

Without alerting the zombies in the rain, Su Ling and the other three entered the building and hung their raincoats on the protruding parts of the exhibition wall.

"Let's split up. We'll meet back here at noon."

Su Ling dropped these words and headed off to her left with her Tang knife.

She needed to collect supplies, and being with Gu Shangse and the other two would be cumbersome and hinder her.

Gu Shangse watched Su Ling's retreating back, his eyes filled with a gentle smile.

Only after Su Ling was out of sight did Gu Shangse turn to Fatty and Skinny. "See you later."

The building Su Ling and her group had come to housed shops selling a wide variety of goods, all of which were easy to store.

Su Ling, who was familiar with the merchandise sold in this building, knew that the area she was heading towards was filled with all sorts of food items.

The dazzling array of shops made Su Ling's head spin, and simultaneously presented her with a significant workload.

As the main distribution center for dried goods in Xuyang City, the number of zombies in this area was immense.

Su Ling came down from the escalator and looked around, seeing zombies everywhere.

Some were eating, some were aimlessly wandering, some were banging their heads against walls... In short, the zombies presented a multitude of forms, each with its own characteristics.

Su Ling tore off a lollipop and put it in her mouth, gripping her Tang knife as she advanced.

Sensing the scent of living people, the zombies all moved towards Su Ling. Some were even able to run, and though they were slow, the speed difference with the walking zombies was significant.

Flailing their limbs, emitting excited growls, their faces were ferocious, their skin rotten, their eyeballs bulging, their clothes tattered and dirty, with loose flesh and debris hanging precariously. The scene was, in its own way, spectacular.
