Chapter 377: Chapter 340: I Don’t Even Have the Chance to Argue with Her
Qiu Yufei could never have imagined that Qiu Lan, who has always cherished her so much, would ever let her marry a man over sixty—an old man who had been married three times and had six children.
If she really married him, it would be like jumping into a pit of fire, her life would be completely ruined.
"Mom, I’ll agree to anything except this. I can’t marry Steve, absolutely not."
"Feifei," Qiu Lan seemed to have not heard a word she said. In her eyes, Qiu Yufei ceased to be her daughter the moment she started to betray her. She could forgive Mu Shuoqian’s betrayal because he was her biological son, but Qiu Yufei was different as she was adopted. She couldn’t put them on the same scale. Now for her own interests, she decided to sacrifice Qiu Yufei.
"Mom, how can you do this to me? I’m your daughter, please don’t treat me like this." Qiu Yufei might be naive, but she wanted to keep her body clean for Mu Shuoqian. No one else in this world except Mu Shuoqian was worthy of touching her.
"There’s no room for negotiation in this matter," Qiu Lan said, and then hung up the phone without waiting for her to speak.
Not long after she put down the phone, Qiu Yufei called back again. Qiu Lan, somewhat impatient, scolded, "Don’t say anything, there’s no room for negotiation..."
"Mom, wait a second, that’s not what I want to talk about."
Qiu Lan: "What is it?"
"Mom, do you know that Shuoqian has never given up on Gu Qili? In these four years, he imprisoned me just to take revenge on Gu Qili. We almost snatched her child from her, she’s been holding a grudge ever since. So, she made Shuoqian take revenge on me."
"What? I thought they had broken up a long time ago?"
"That was just them deceiving everyone. Gu Qili wouldn’t easily let go of a cash cow like my brother. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have secretly borne my brother a child, and now he’s so bewitched by her that he doesn’t even recognize his own relatives. He even has the heart to deal such a cruel hand to his own sister like me. If we let this go on, sooner or later, he won’t even acknowledge his own mother."
Qiu Lan’s expression gradually turned grave. She hadn’t paid attention to these private matters of Mu Shuoqian. That child had luckily survived, and she didn’t punish Gu Dezhong since that was her biological grandson. The tiger doesn’t eat its cubs; how could she bear to harm her own grandson, especially since the little guy was smart and adorable, someone she truly liked from the bottom of her heart.
"I understand. I’ll handle this." Qiu Lan hung up the phone and got off the bed with heavy thoughts. She could tolerate a grandson with Gu Family blood, but she absolutely could not tolerate a daughter of Gu Dezhong. The hatred from the past had long been etched into her very marrow, impossible to forget, much less forgive.

Gu Qili picked up Mu Qinian from the kindergarten in the evening, with Jin Xiaojun following closely behind. Jin Xiaojun, already reprimanded by his mother, was no longer pestering Mu Qinian and was looking out for him like a little sidekick, ready to jump out in defense whenever someone spoke ill of Mu Qinian.
Seeing the two kids walking out one after another, Gu Qili waved to Jin Xiaojun: "Goodbye, Xiaojun."
People are innately good at heart; she believed that Jin Xiaojun wasn’t a bad kid, just a bit mischievous. As long as his mother didn’t lead him further astray, everything would be fine.
"Goodbye, Qini’s mom." Jin Xiaojun waved back and then looked up to Mu Qinian with his chin raised high, "See you tomorrow, Mu Qinian."
Seeing that Mu Qinian did not respond, Gu Qili gave him a nudge: "Xiaojun is talking to you."
Mu Qinian pouted: "Remember to give back my toy airplane tomorrow."
"I know, I know," Jin Xiaojun laughed as he ran and shouted, "It’s easy to borrow again if you return what you’ve borrowed."
Gu Qili rubbed the little guy’s head: "You lent your toy to Jin Xiaojun?"
"I saw him drooling over that airplane, almost salivating."
"Sharing something you love is the start of friendship. Keep it up." Gu Qili cheered him on with a ’V’ sign.
"Childish." Mu Qinian rolled his eyes and walked away with his hands in his pockets.
Seeing his sassy demeanor, Gu Qili thought of his father. She caught up and took his hand from behind.
They hadn’t walked far when they saw Mu Shuoqian’s car parked on the roadside, the window half down, with a wisp of smoke drifting out.
"Your dad’s here." Gu Qili said as she approached and opened the rear car door.
"Old light bulb." Mu Qinian muttered softly, climbed up by holding onto one side of the car door, and automatically settled himself into his child safety seat.
