Chapter 305: Chapter 284: You Won’t Regret It, Right?

Friday was the day that Gu Qili and the hospital had scheduled for her surgery. According to the doctor, she didn’t need an operation right now and only needed to take some medication. If the medication was ineffective, they would then consider surgery.

When Gu Qili and Mickey arrived at the hospital, the doctor in charge had just started work.

Before prescribing the medication, the doctor asked her again, "Are you sure you don’t want this child? Once you take this medicine, there’s no going back."

Gu Qili had been keeping her head down, her face pale. Hearing the doctor’s words, her hands tightened subconsciously on her kneecaps.

"Qiqi, it’s not too late to regret it now," Mickey sighed softly, taking her hand quietly.

"I’m sure," Gu Qili looked up at the doctor, "Doctor, please prescribe the medication."

The doctor shook his head, beginning to type on the computer: "First, go and pay for the medication, and then come back here. I’ll tell you how to take it."

When Gu Qili went to get the medication, the woman in front of her had just picked hers up. Perhaps their gazes met, and the woman said with some concern, "Ah, being older is worrying, I need to take all sorts of supplements. Are you also lacking something that you need to take supplements for, at such a young age?"

Gu Qili looked at her blankly, clenching the prescription in her hand.

She was not here to save this child; she was here to abort it. She was a cruel and unfit mother.

When it was Gu Qili’s turn, she handed her prescription in at the window, and soon after, two boxes of medicine were pushed out. She looked at the medication instructions and slowly closed her eyes, sighing deeply.

Returning to the doctor’s office with Xiao Mi, the doctor picked up a box of medicine and said, "Take this one first, one pill at a time, once in the morning and once in the evening. On the fourth morning, take this one. Take one pill here first, and then you’ll be observed in the hospital for six hours. After you go home, pay close attention to yourself. If you experience abdominal pain or bleeding, it’s normal, but if you feel particularly uncomfortable, come to the hospital immediately."

The doctor went on to explain many precautions, such as the potential dangers of taking the medicine and when to check into the hospital after completing the medication.

Gu Qili stared at the box in her hand, completely ignorant of what the doctor said later; it was Mickey who was listening carefully and took notes on the side.

"Young lady, go ahead. Take the first pill in the room next door, and then wait for six hours," the doctor instructed.

"Thank you, doctor." Gu Qili picked up the two boxes of medicine and walked out.

Upon entering the room next door, she tore a pill out of the box: "Xiao Mi, where’s my water?"

"Here it is." Mickey quickly took a bottle of mineral water out of her bag and handed it to her, hesitating midway, "Qiqi, won’t you regret it? Are you really sure about this? I’m asking you one last time."

She took the mineral water from her hand.

Let it be, once and for all.

Mu Shuoqian had been drinking, and the alcohol was surging up now; he lay on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling.

It was only when the telephone rang that he glanced at it somewhat woodenly. It was a call from Zhou Xiaoyu.

He cut off the call with some irritation and placed the phone facedown on the table.

However, the ringtone sounded again very soon.

Zhou Xiaoyu was always obedient; after he hung up her call, she would not dare to call a second time. But today, unexpectedly, she persisted.

Mu Shuoqian finally answered the phone with impatience, "What is it?"

Zhou Xiaoyu could tell from his tone that he was displeased and his mood seemed very bad. She was actually afraid, but she still plucked up her courage to ask, "Young Master Qian, hasn’t Miss Gu come looking for you?"

When Gu Qili was mentioned, Mu Shuoqian’s hand tightened around the wine glass threefold, her hateful gaze once more piercing his mind like the sharpest of blades torturing his heart.

When no reply came for a long time, Zhou Xiaoyu carefully added, "Young Master Qian, Miss Gu found out that I was the substitute you brought in, and... I admitted it."

Mu Shuoqian’s drunkenness seemed to sober up suddenly. He sat up abruptly, "What did you say? When did it happen?"

Zhou Xiaoyu bit her lip, her voice dropping a few notches: "It happened on Wednesday morning. I’m sorry, I was afraid you would scold me, and I hesitated whether I should tell you. Sorry, it was because I was careless that Miss Gu found out."

"When Miss Gu left, she was muttering, ’Now let’s see how you’ll explain this, Mu Shuoqian, you’re finished.’ Even though she gritted her teeth when she said it, she still had a smile on her face. I thought she would come find you right away. I kept waiting and waiting, but your call never came, so I called you today."

Zhou Xiaoyu was still speaking when the phone call was disconnected.

Mu Shuoqian stared at the phone screen, his mind racing. Wednesday? That was the day she had scheduled to meet him at the coffee shop, and he had gotten himself together just to see her, only to be splashed with coffee as soon as they met before she uttered those words.

Actually, she wanted to question him about Zhou Xiaoyu, but what made her change her mind midway was the true cause of the Gu Family’s bankruptcy – not something revealed by Qiu Lan, so who could it have been? What exactly happened in those few short hours?

Mu Shuoqian grabbed his phone and quickly stood up, knocking over a bottle of wine in his haste, and the red wine flowed out from the overturned bottleneck, spreading across the floor.

After he got into his car, he pulled up her number on his phone.

Gu Qili lay on the sofa, staring at the ceiling and zoning out when her phone rang. Mickey was in the kitchen making noodles.

She blinked her eyes, it took her a while to come to her senses, then she reached out for her phone and put it to her ear: "Hello."

"Sick? Why does your voice sound a bit hoarse?"

"No, I was just sleeping." Gu Qili sat up and picked up a cushion to lean against, "What’s up?"

"Are you free these days?"

"Yeah, I’m not busy, I took some time off."

"Took time off? You must not be feeling well then, I’ll come over and check on you."

"No need, I’m really okay." Gu Qili glanced unintentionally at the two boxes of medicine and some receipts on the coffee table, her gaze fell, and a tinge of struggle and sadness flickered in her eyes, "Tang Tianyou, can I ask a favor of you?"

"I actually need a favor from you too. Wait for me at home, I’ll be there in half an hour."

Tang Tianyou didn’t give her a chance to speak and hung up the phone.

Mickey came over with two bowls of noodles. Seeing Gu Qili gazing at the phone, lost in thought, she placed the chopsticks properly and asked, "Who was it?"

"Tang Tianyou, he said he’s got something and is coming over in a bit."

Mickey made an ’oh’ sound: "Let’s eat the noodles first. I don’t know how to cook anything else. Should we buy some millet and hens perhaps? What should we do? Or should we hire a maternity nurse?"

"Are you out of your mind? A maternity nurse in Aus City costs tens of thousands a month, where would we get that kind of money?"

"Qiqi, does your stomach still hurt? Maybe we should go back to the hospital."

"It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt anymore." Gu Qili set her phone aside and picked up the chopsticks to start eating. But after a couple of bites, she couldn’t help but frown, "Mickey, with your cooking skills, how on earth will you get married?"

Mickey scratched her head with a carefree attitude: "I’ll just marry a chef."

Gu Qili was amused by her: "I’ve heard chefs don’t cook at home because cooking to them is work, and who wants to work morning and night?"

"Then I’ll just find someone wealthy, so we can eat out three times a day, then there’s no need to cook at all."

"How can you have so little ambition? Would it kill you to learn how to cook?"

Mickey grinned and after seeing the faint smile on her face, she asked very seriously: "Qiqi, will you regret it?"

Gu Qili quietly clenched her chopsticks, she wanted to ask herself the same question, would she regret it?

"Forget it, don’t be upset. No matter what happens, I’ll always be by your side to support you."

Mickey reached out and held her hand, their fingers tightly interwoven, and a warm current flowed from their fingertips straight into the depths of Gu Qili’s heart.

Even if she lost everything, she still had this friend; she wasn’t left with nothing, was she?

By the time Tang Tianyou arrived, Mickey had already left for class. Tang Tianyou had a key to her home, which he got the last time she sprained her ankle.

"Woof."

As Gu Qili was sitting on the sofa watching TV, she suddenly heard a familiar bark.

She turned her head and exclaimed with joy: "Pugsy."

The haughty Pugsy, seeing his goddess, although still appearing lazy,

"I have a business trip tomorrow for a week, so I’m leaving him with you for the time being. I’ve bought enough dog food and stuff, and put it over here." Tang Tianyou dropped off the bags of various sizes by the kitchen door, then turned and went to the fridge to get a chilled bottled water.

He unscrewed the bottle cap and walked over. Gu Qili was playing with Pugsy.

As soon as he sat down, he noticed the two boxes of medicine and some receipts on the coffee table. He didn’t want to snoop into someone else’s privacy, but the words on the medicine boxes bludgeoned their way into his vision, causing him a moment of dizziness.

"Tang Tianyou, what are you thinking about?" Gu Qili nudged him, "I’m talking to you."

Tang Tianyou suddenly snapped back to reality, turned his head with feigned casualness: "Huh? What did you ask?"

"I was asking what to do when Pugsy needs to go to the bathroom?"
