Chapter 308 - 286: Goodbye

Chapter 308: Chapter 286: Goodbye

Gu Qili suddenly resigned, which surprised everyone, including Liu Zhining who had always thought highly of her.

But people have their own aspirations, even if Liu Zhining was reluctant to let go of such a capable assistant, there was no choice but to support her.

"Do you have any plans after leaving?" Liu Zhining personally escorted her to the door.

"Not at the moment, I want to rest for a while." Gu Qili smiled at Liu Zhining, "Manager Liu, thank you for your care all this time."

"It’s not so much care; you’ve also helped me a lot. Even if we can’t be colleagues in the future, we can still be friends. Make sure to keep my phone number, and don’t hesitate to call me if you need any help."

"Okay." Gu Qili walked down the steps, waving at him, "Goodbye."

Liu Zhining nodded.

Gu Qili turned back for one last look, not without reluctance, but when it’s time to let go, hesitation only leads to hope followed by despair, just like before, only realizing in a panic when the gruesome truth lays bare in front.

As soon as Gu Qishi walked down the steps carrying the suitcase, a car stopped in front of her. Tang Tianyou wound down the window and pointed to the back seat, "Get in."

Gu Qili opened the car door and placed the suitcase inside, then stood in front of the car, and glanced back again involuntarily.

This place bore her joys and sorrows; scenes of past good and bad flashed through her mind like a movie, she then looked towards the government building nearby, her gaze resting on the twenty-fourth floor.

Goodbye! Goodbye, Mu Shuoqian!

As soon as Gu Qili got in the car, a fluffy thing jumped onto her.

"Bagu?!" Gu Qili wrapped it in her arms: "Are you here to pick me up too?"

Bagu barked, his round, sparkling eyes staring at her for a while, then he obediently snuggled into her arms, making Tang Tianyou, who was driving, feel a surge of jealousy, no, more like envy.

After driving for a while, Gu Qili realized they were not on the road back to Perfume Bay. Thinking Tang Tianyou might have errands to run on the way, she didn’t mind and idly played with Bagu.

Only when the car turned onto the airport expressway did Gu Qili lean slightly forward and ask, "Are you going to the airport?"

"It’s ’we’ are going to the airport," Tang Tianyou replied, glancing at her through the rearview mirror, his expression inscrutable.

Confused by his words, Gu Qili pouted and said to Bagu, "Your owner is acting crazy again."

Tang Tianyou indeed was acting crazy; he parked the car in front of the airport and then took two suitcases from the trunk, one of which Gu Qili recognized as hers.

He handed her the ID card and boarding pass, simply stating, "Let’s go."

Gu Qili stared at his handsome face then at the ticket in her hand, blinking slowly, "What do you mean?"

"You’ll know when we get there." He took her hand, "Bring the luggage."

Gu Qili somewhat passively followed his instructions, pulling the suitcase while he held her hand and carried Bagu.

Since it’s quite troublesome for Bagu to get on the plane, Tang Tianyou was constantly shuttling across different counters.

Gu Qili sat on a chair, gazing at the two suitcases in front of her somewhat blankly.

One hour later, the plane took off.

When she stood on the land of City A once again, she was still somewhat dazed.

After getting off the airplane, someone was waiting in a car outside the airport. Seeing Tang Tianyou, the driver respectfully greeted, "Boss Tian," and then said to Gu Qili, "Miss Gu, hello."

He took their luggage and put it in the trunk, then opened the rear car door.

"Tang Tianyou, where are we going?" Gu Qili, holding Bagu, asked puzzledly staring out the window.

"To a place you will surely love."

The place Tang Tianyou was referring to was the small fishing village they had visited together. After dining that day, Gu Qili had planned to stroll around the village, but they had to rush back to the city, so the plan was scrapped.

Unexpectedly, he had remembered it all this time and had even brought her here.

It was early evening now, smoke rose from the household rooftops, walking on the path paved with sand and cobblestones, listening to the sounds of barking dogs and crowing roosters, she felt an inexplicable sense of peace and simplicity.

Tang Tianyou, pulling a suitcase, let her just hold Bagu while he talked, "The people here are simple, you can stay here comfortably."

They walked to the end of the street, and Tang Tianyou then pushed open the gate in front of him, revealing a spacious courtyard planted with various plants, a row of low houses with gray tiles and white walls, all tidily arranged.
