Chapter 89: Chapter 89 Tonight Belongs to Us

Victoria

The feeling of Leo’s powerful hand at the small of my back guided me toward his sleek black SUV, each step making my heart flutter wildly against my ribcage. The shopping bags rustled in his free hand, but his eyes never left mine—dark, intense, holding promises that made my inner wolf whine with anticipation.

"You really went all out today," he murmured, his voice a deep rumble that vibrated through me as he opened the passenger door.

I smoothed down the crimson wrap dress, suddenly hyper-aware of how it hugged every curve. “Do you like it?” I asked, forcing a teasing smile though my heart raced.

His eyes darkened, the golden flecks in them burning hotter. "I hate it," he said flatly, though the possessive edge in his tone made me smirk. "Every man in that room will be staring at you, little wolf."

"Which means you do like it," I shot back, tilting my head, daring him.

He swallowed hard, gaze dropping to the neckline that revealed just enough to test his control. The faint twitch of his jaw told me I was winning. Making this powerful Alpha lose his composure had become one of my secret pleasures.

"Get in the car," he muttered, his voice rougher now. "I’ll give you my answer when no one else can hear it."

He helped me into the passenger seat, his fingers lingering against mine longer than necessary. The innocent contact sent sparks racing up my arm. As he walked around to the driver’s side, I let my eyes follow him—his broad shoulders filling out the crisp shirt, the predatory grace in every step. When he slid behind the wheel and caught me staring, his jaw tightened, and that heat in his gaze promised I’d pay for teasing him later.

When he slid into the driver’s seat, the SUV suddenly felt much smaller, his presence filling every available space.

"How was the Council meeting?" I asked, trying to maintain some semblance of normal conversation despite the tension crackling between us.

His fingers flexed on the steering wheel as he pulled away from the mall. "Productive. Boring. Nothing that can’t wait until tomorrow." His hand left the wheel to rest on my thigh, just below the hemline of my dress. "I’d much rather hear about your day."

The weight of his palm burned through the fabric, making it difficult to form coherent thoughts. "We bought flowers for the pack house. For everyone recovering." I swallowed hard as his thumb traced small circles on my skin. "And clothes. Obviously."

"Obviously," he echoed, his lips curving into that rare smile that always made my heart skip. "This particular purchase was an excellent decision."

Instead of turning toward the main road that led back to pack territory, Leo veered onto a smaller path that wound through the dense forest bordering our land. The trees thickened around us, dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy in shifting patterns across the dashboard.

"Where are we going?" I asked, my voice embarrassingly breathless.

Leo’s eyes remained fixed on the winding road, but his hand inched higher on my thigh. "Somewhere private. As requested."

Heat bloomed in my core at the reminder of my bold challenge at the mall. The memory of his growled response—"Your wish is my command, Luna"—sent a shiver down my spine.

The SUV slowed as Leo guided it off the path into a small clearing, hidden from the main road by thick foliage and tall pines. He cut the engine, and suddenly the only sounds were our breathing and the distant calls of forest birds.

He turned to face me fully, his eyes now molten gold—his wolf close to the surface. "No pack members. No enemies at the gate." His voice dropped lower. "Just us."

My breath caught in my throat as he unbuckled his seatbelt and mine in one fluid motion. His hands found my waist, lifting me effortlessly across the center console and onto his lap so I straddled him. The steering wheel pressed against my back, but I barely noticed the discomfort.

"This dress," Leo murmured, his fingers tracing the neckline where it dipped between my breasts, "has been driving me insane since I saw you in it."

"That was rather the point," I admitted, bolder now in the privacy of the moment.

His eyes flashed at my confession. "Were you trying to provoke me, little wolf?"

"Maybe," I whispered, rolling my hips slightly against him, feeling his hardness beneath me. "Is it working?"

In answer, one of his hands tangled in my hair, pulling my head back to expose my throat. His lips found my pulse point, teeth grazing the sensitive skin there. Not quite a bite, but a reminder of the claim he’d placed on me. My bond mark—hidden beneath my dress—tingled in response.

"You have no idea what you do to me," he growled against my skin. "Every male in that mall was looking at you. Wanting you."

"I only want you," I gasped as his free hand slipped beneath the hem of my dress, fingers skimming up my outer thigh.

"Mine," he breathed, the word more wolf than man.

His mouth captured mine in a kiss that stole what little breath I had left. This wasn’t the controlled, restrained Alpha who navigated pack politics with cold precision. This was my mate—possessive, demanding, consuming. I melted against him, surrendering to the heat building between us.

The wrap style of my new dress proved convenient as Leo’s hands worked the tie at my waist loose, the fabric falling open to reveal the lace beneath. His breath hitched, pupils dilating as he took in the matching crimson lingerie I’d impulsively purchased while Emma and Lilith weren’t looking.

"You planned this," he accused, voice rough with desire.

I bit my lip, enjoying the hunger in his gaze. "I hoped for it."

His control snapped visibly. In seconds, my underwear was pushed aside and his belt unbuckled. The confined space of the driver’s seat made everything more intense, more desperate. I gasped his name as he positioned me above him, hands gripping my hips firmly.

"Tell me you want this," he demanded, his eyes holding mine with fierce intensity.

"I want you," I breathed, trembling with need. "Always you."

Leo groaned as he guided me down onto him, filling me completely in one slow, deliberate motion. My head fell back, a moan escaping my lips at the exquisite stretch and fullness. His hands controlled my movements in the limited space, setting a rhythm that had me clutching his shoulders for support.

"So beautiful," he murmured, watching my expressions with fascination as I moved above him. "So perfect for me."

The windows of the SUV began to fog with our combined heat, creating a misty cocoon around our joined bodies. Each roll of my hips drew deeper sounds from Leo’s chest, his usual iron control fracturing as I tightened around him.

"Fuck, Victoria," he growled, the rare profanity sending a thrill through me. Leo only abandoned his careful speech in moments of absolute pleasure. "You feel so damn good."

I leaned forward to capture his mouth, swallowing his groans as our pace quickened. The steering wheel dug into my back, but the slight discomfort only enhanced the pleasure coursing through my veins. One of his hands slipped between us, finding the bundle of nerves that had me seeing stars.

"That’s it, baby," he urged, his voice strained as he fought for control. "Let go for me."

I was close—so close—when headlights suddenly swept across the foggy windows. My body tensed in alarm, but Leo’s rhythm never faltered.

"Leo," I gasped, "someone’s—"
