"You're dead!"
Ye Qian reached for her belt, intending to tie Lin Fan up.
Just then, the door of the interrogation room was suddenly kicked open from the outside.
Ye Zheng, Ye Qian's father, barged in with two subordinates and was stunned by the scene.
"Cough, cough!"
Seeing their strange postures, Ye Zheng's old face turned red.
The two subordinates' mouths hung open in disbelief, unable to comprehend what they were seeing.
Lin Fan chuckled, "Still not getting off? Do you plan to let everyone watch for free?"
Ye Qian was both embarrassed and indignant, her pretty face flushed red.
Their current positions made it easy for people to misunderstand.
She was lying on top of Lin Fan, her hand busy unbuckling her belt.
Anyone who saw them would naturally assume the worst.
"Deputy Director, Captain Ye is interrogating a suspect."

"Ye Qian, what... what are you doing?" Ye Zheng's mouth twitched.
"Reporting to the Deputy Director, this madman tried to escape, and I was trying to subdue him," Ye Qian explained as she got up.
Ye Zheng was puzzled. Did it require such a sacrifice to apprehend someone?
Ye Qian added, "My handcuffs are being used on other prisoners, so I intended to use my belt to restrain this madman."
"There's been a misunderstanding. Lin Fan isn't some madman. Let him go," Ye Zheng ordered.
He then quietly closed the door and turned to his subordinates, roaring, "What are you all standing around for? Don't you have work to do? Keep your mouths shut tight! If anyone dares to speak nonsense, I won't spare them!"
"Yes! Deputy Director, we saw nothing!"
Everyone dispersed like startled birds, whispering amongst themselves.
"What's going on? Didn't this kid beat up Captain Ye's fiancé? How come they..."
"This Lin Fan has quite the background. I heard the townspeople don't dare to touch him, so Captain Ye personally took the case. And now, they're letting him go again."
"A lot of villagers from Luofeng Village have come and are making a scene outside."
"Stop talking, everyone, stop. Be careful not to get in trouble."
In the interrogation room, Ye Qian gnashed her teeth in anger.
Lin Fan grinned cheekily, "Captain Ye, didn't you hear your Deputy Director? Let go. How long do you plan to keep me locked up?"
"Hmph."
Ye Qian huffed. Since her superior had spoken, she had no choice but to comply.
Reluctantly, she moved aside, clearing the path to the door.
The table was hard, leaving her knees red.
Her short skirt offered little coverage, making the situation appear even more compromising.
Lin Fan stretched his limbs and then walked out.
With his skills, escaping Ye Qian's grasp was child's play.
He hadn't resisted earlier simply because he had heard footsteps outside.
"You're Doctor Lin, correct? This whole situation was a misunderstanding. Ye Qian was too impulsive. I apologize on her behalf." Ye Zheng's attitude was exceptionally respectful.
"Dad! This Lin Fan committed assault in public! He crippled Wu Kai right in front of me! How can this be a misunderstanding?" Ye Qian questioned furiously.
Ye Zheng shot her a glare. "I've spoiled you too much. Address him as Director!"
"But, about Wu Kai..."
Ye Qian was unconvinced. Her father had always been upright and just, constantly teaching her to be a good police officer who served the nation and its people.
Why was he now speaking up for a madman?
And with such politeness!
"I have thoroughly investigated this matter. Wu Kai attempted to defile Zhang Qiang's sister, which led to the subsequent events. Lin Fan did nothing wrong!"
Ye Zheng declared righteously, "I've already sent people to guard Wu Kai at the hospital. As long as his condition is not serious, he will be brought back for interrogation. You are not to interfere with this matter."
He then looked at Lin Fan. "Doctor Lin, Old Man Liu sends his regards and said he will come to see you for treatment in the next couple of days."

Lin Fan finally understood. It was Liu Qinghui who had helped him.
It seemed he was more than just a businessman.
Ye Qian looked at Wu Kai's criminal records and gritted her teeth. "This heartless beast! I will personally send him to prison!"
"Alas."
Ye Zheng sighed. "It's my fault. I thought Wu Kai had good character back then, which is why I tried to set you two up. I never imagined he was a wolf in sheep's clothing!"
"If not for Doctor Lin stepping in and making a scene, we would still be in the dark, letting him get away with it!"
"Doctor Lin, on behalf of our police department, thank you!"
Lin Fan asked indifferently, "How do you plan to deal with Wu Kai?"
Ye Zheng replied, "Given his crimes, he'll be sentenced to at least ten years."
"Such a person deserves to die!" Lin Fan's tone was filled with murderous intent.
Ye Zheng was startled. "Zhang Tingting was saved by you, so... Doctor Lin, I didn't mean anything by it, but Wu Kai's crimes don't warrant the death penalty."
Lin Fan secretly swore that Wu Kai had harmed more than one girl, and such scum must not be let off!
"Doctor Lin, the villagers are waiting for you outside. I'll escort you out." Ye Zheng made a gesture of invitation.
Lin Fan shook his head slightly. "You arrest people when you want and release them when you want. Isn't that too overbearing?"

Lin Fan said coldly, "Someone like you is not suited for this line of work. If everyone were like you, then speaking frankly, even a dog would do!"
Though his words were harsh, Ye Qian couldn't refute them.
Ye Zheng smiled apologetically. "Doctor Lin is absolutely right. I will strengthen our management in the future and ensure such a thing never happens again."
"Ye Qian, from now on, you are suspended from your captain position."
"Dad!"
Ye Qian was on the verge of tears. She shot Lin Fan a resentful look and turned to leave.
"Doctor Lin, please. Don't keep the villagers waiting." Ye Zheng forced a smile.
After all, they were father and daughter. He wouldn't burn all bridges.
Letting this arrogant girl Ye Qian suffer a bit would prevent her from acting recklessly in the future.
Lin Fan walked ahead, with Ye Zheng cautiously by his side.
Everyone around stared wide-eyed, wondering about this young man's background.
