Chapter 638 Safe House

The man was violently kicked from behind by Lu Chengsen. Before he could even get a clear look at Lu Chengsen’s face, he was sent sprawling onto the ground. Just as he was about to flip over to see who it was, a dark silhouette descended, delivering two heavy punches directly to his head.

His vision went black, and he lost consciousness.

Lu Chengsen looked at the now limp man in his hands, snorted coldly, and tossed him aside.

“Chengsen, why are you here?” Luo Siqi’s eyes reddened as she looked at Lu Chengsen and Fu Wenwen.

“Mom, let’s not talk about that now. It’s not safe here. I’ll get you out first.” Fu Wenwen helped Luo Siqi into the car and signaled for Lu Qianan and Lu Chengyu to get in quickly.

The three exchanged glances and immediately obeyed Fu Wenwen. Lu Chengsen, without a word, got into the driver’s seat and slammed the accelerator.

After driving for a short while, they heard the sound of car engines from behind.

“They’ve caught up,” Lu Chengsen said to Fu Wenwen.

“I’ll handle it. Just focus on driving,” Fu Wenwen nodded, telling Lu Chengsen to concentrate on driving while she dealt with their pursuers.

Lu Chengyu and the others sat in the back seat, exchanged glances, and gripped the car doors tightly.

Lu Chengsen directly floored the accelerator, pushing the car to its maximum speed. Fu Wenwen looked at the wild grass by the roadside and waved her hands.

Lu Chengyu and the other two watched in astonishment as Fu Wenwen’s hands began to glow green. Then, a loud ‘bang’ came from behind, followed by the sound of a vehicle losing control and crashing into something.

“All dealt with,” Fu Wenwen smiled casually.

Lu Chengyu and Luo Siqi, however, were stunned. Lu Qianan looked at Fu Wenwen with adoration.

“Sister-in-law, your hands… they just glowed green!”

Lu Chengyu looked at Fu Wenwen. Fu Wenwen smiled slightly at them, offering no explanation.

“Is this how you saved Dad?” Lu Chengyu looked at Fu Wenwen, unable to hold back the question that had been on his mind.

“Yes,” Fu Wenwen did not hide anything and nodded. “This is a kind of ability, it can save people.”

“Will it have any impact on you? After you saved Jingyao, you slept for several days,” Luo Siqi, prompted by Lu Chengyu’s question, recalled what had happened. She remembered that after Lu Jingyao suddenly recovered, Fu Wenwen remained unconscious for a long time.

She had asked Lu Jingyao, and he had only told her that Fu Wenwen had saved him.

She knew nothing else.

“These are minor matters, there won’t be any impact. Saving people does consume quite a bit of energy,” Fu Wenwen replied.

“I never thought you were the most powerful one,” Lu Chengyu glanced at Lu Chengsen. “How did you manage to marry Wenwen? You must have struck absolute gold.”

“Indeed, it was my great fortune,” Lu Chengsen looked at Fu Wenwen and smiled knowingly.

“Second sister-in-law, are you a fairy?” Lu Qianan looked at Fu Wenwen, never having imagined that a girl could be so formidable.

“No, I just possess an ability,” Fu Wenwen smiled. “Aren’t you afraid of me?”

“If it were anyone else, we certainly would be! But if it’s you, we’re not afraid,” Luo Siqi looked at Fu Wenwen. If it were someone else, she would have been terrified.

But it was Fu Wenwen, and she felt no fear at all.

Not to mention that Fu Wenwen had saved Lu Chengsen and Lu Jingyao, no wonder Old Master Lu said Fu Wenwen was a great benefactor to the Lu family.

That statement was absolutely true.

“I’m glad you’re not afraid of me,” Fu Wenwen said, secretly relieved by the frankness in their eyes.

Using her powers in front of them was indeed a gamble. Old Master Lu and Lu Jingyao knew, but they couldn’t keep it from Luo Siqi and Lu Chengyu forever.

Fortunately, everything was developing in a positive direction.

Lu Chengsen reached out and squeezed Fu Wenwen’s hand.

He clearly understood why Fu Wenwen had acted as she did and knew that the Lu family had passed her test.

Fu Wenwen gazed out at the passing scenery, a genuine smile blooming on her face.

The car drove all the way to Yong’an Town. Fu Wenwen had Lu Chengsen drive into the woods, where she used her abilities to conceal the car. Then, under the cover of night, she took them to the small courtyard she had rented.

“Stay here and rest for the next few days. Until my grandfather and father’s matters are resolved, you are not to appear in public,” Fu Wenwen told the three of them.

“Don’t worry about supplies; I’ve already prepared them for you. I’ll also arrange for fresh vegetables to be delivered!”

“What exactly happened? You have to tell us, don’t you?” Luo Siqi held Fu Wenwen’s arm and asked.

“It’s a bit complicated to explain…” Fu Wenwen glanced at Lu Chengsen, who nodded.

Fu Wenwen led Luo Siqi and the others back to the room.

Everything in the room was still as it was when she had left. The quilt was clean, indicating that someone had been tidying it up all along.

After the three of them sat down, Fu Wenwen and Lu Chengsen finally told them the whole story.

Upon hearing it, the three of them found it unbelievable.

“How could that Su Xiaoxiao be so capable? She managed to get involved with Wei Hong while in prison?” Lu Chengyu was shocked. Su Xiaoxiao, a woman serving time, could actually have contact with Wei Hong?

Their statuses were vastly different, and their locations were also far apart – one in the east and the other in the west. How did they manage to connect?

“I don’t know. When she appeared during the college entrance examination, I had some suspicions, but I didn’t take it to heart then.” Fu Wenwen felt that she should have investigated at the time, but Lu Chengsen had reported that Su Xiaoxiao was still serving her sentence.

So, she didn’t bother to look into it further.

“You couldn’t have imagined she would be this capable; it’s not your fault,” Luo Siqi shook her head. “Those who wish to do evil will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.”

“Although we don’t know how she managed it, it’s unlikely to have been anything honorable,” Luo Siqi’s words were echoed by Lu Chengyu’s agreement.

“Wenwen, her animosity towards you has existed since childhood. No matter what you do, she sees it as wrong. Such a person has inherent issues, so you really don’t need to pay much attention to her. She won’t have a good end.”

“Second sister-in-law, I think eldest brother is right. That kind of person is inherently wicked,” Lu Qianan said, comforting Fu Wenwen.

“They want to frame our family with the charge of treason. If it’s proven, the Lu family will truly have no chance of recovery,” Lu Chengyu had heard from his grandfather that the country would absolutely not tolerate or forgive those who betrayed it.

“They’re truly trying to destroy us completely!” Even if Luo Siqi didn’t understand much, she knew the seriousness of treason.

“Not to mention they forged Grandpa’s signature,” Lu Qianan said sternly. “If they can even imitate Grandpa’s signature, then…”

“Then it’s indeed Grandpa’s handwriting,” Lu Chengsen confirmed. “They must have used Aunt Wang to obtain that signature.”

“Aunt Wang? She was involved too?” Luo Siqi exclaimed in surprise. “She’s the one who raised Lu Jingyao and served three generations of the Lu family…”
