Chapter 127: Quarrel

Chapter 127: Quarrel

Besides being surprised, Richard was also fascinated.

The king — the ruler of this kingdom — had actually become his slave.

It was hard for him to imagine, even though it was now a reality.

"Boy, quickly transfer the ownership of the Slave Seal to me," Lilith suddenly spoke, showing the drop of blood that dripped from her fingertip.

The transfer of the Slave Seal’s ownership wasn’t difficult. Lilith only needed to place her blood on the Seal, and Richard had to allow it to merge with it. That would change its ownership.

However, Richard felt an odd heaviness in doing so.

After all, the one who was now a slave was the king himself.

But he couldn’t go back on his promise — one that would practically strengthen their connection.

"Go ahead," Richard said, allowing Lilith to place her blood on the Slave Seal.

For a moment, Lilith gave him a sharp look, clearly sensing his hesitation.

She then let a drop of her blood fall onto the Slave Seal, and Richard permitted it to merge.

Immediately, he felt the loss of control over the Slave Seal.

"Sister Lilith, what are you going to do exactly?" Richard couldn’t help but ask.

"In short, I’m going to make sure the kingdom’s special inheritance is granted to me — not that little prince. Even in this kingdom’s history, only the two of us are compatible with the inheritance." Lilith answered, though she didn’t specify what kind of inheritance it was.

"I’m leaving now." She grabbed the king’s unconscious body and vanished from Richard’s sight in an instant — or rather, she moved far too fast.

Richard sat on his bed, lost in thought, until he eventually drifted into a deep, comfortable sleep, dreaming of conquering the world.

By the time morning light filled the room, he woke up feeling completely refreshed.

"Ahh..." He sighed softly, blinking a few times.

"When will Olivia return?" he wondered aloud as he sat up.

Even though he suspected she had tricked him, he still looked forward to seeing her plan unfold.

But it had been quite some time now — and she still hadn’t come to him.

Richard couldn’t deny feeling a little irritated.

He went to the bathroom, changed into fresh clothes, and left his inn.

"Who do you think will win, Gray or Luca in the finals?"

"It’s definitely Luca. Gray shocked everyone, sure, but Luca’s foundation is way stronger. He’s won every match easily so far."

Richard overheard people talking about the tournament, and it surprised him.

It was the third day — the day of the finals.

Had Gray really made it to the final?

He found that hard to believe, considering Gray was only at Aether Tier 2.

But rather than hearing about the tournament, most people were actually discussing his engagement with Lilith.

The news had spread, though many doubted its authenticity since no celebration had been held.

However, since the news came directly from the palace and no one denied it, soon everyone would believe it was true.

Richard entered a restaurant that offered private rooms, ordered one, and requested a large meal.

If he had no other plans, he intended to continue training — and for that, he needed a full stomach.

He ate roast chicken, boiled seafood, and drank several refreshing beverages.

He finished everything quickly, so full that he could barely move.

But his body absorbed the food so efficiently that he felt light and comfortable again shortly after.

He stood up and exited the restaurant.

"Hmm..." Just as he stepped outside, he saw a procession of luxurious carriages, all bearing the emblem of a red star.

They weren’t moving along the streets — they were flying in the air, drawn by winged horses and escorted by knights on similar mounts.

Clearly, they were from the royal palace — and judging by the red star symbol, likely the empress’s procession.

After all, the empress held the title Red Star Empress.

Richard wondered where they were headed at such a time, when the empress should’ve been at the tournament finals alongside the king.

"Could there be an important matter she has to take care of?" Richard mused.

Of course, he couldn’t follow them.

He simply strolled around, avoiding the direction of the coliseum.

"Hey, I heard the King and the Empress had a fight — and the Empress decided to leave the palace, taking the young prince with her."

Suddenly, Richard overheard two palace guards chatting as they walked past.

Those words startled him.

"What caused them to fight? Usually, even if they argue, the Empress never leaves the palace."

"I’m not sure, but it seems it’s about inheritance."

"..."

When Richard heard that it was about inheritance, his expression turned strange.

’So that’s what happened,’ he thought, beginning to understand the situation. He hadn’t expected things to escalate so quickly — or to make the empress that furious.

’Even though the kingdom has elders and a few ancestors, the final decision likely still rests with the king... unless it’s because both heirs are his children.’

In a family, such conflicts were hardly unusual — and Richard could only pretend it had nothing to do with him.

As he continued walking, something caught his eye: a massive Magic Shop.

It was the largest he had ever seen — a grand building with an entire front wall made of transparent glass.

It seemed newly opened and was still quite empty.

Richard entered, browsing around to see if there was anything useful.

The variety of items was overwhelming. He even saw several Tier 4 weapons — though they couldn’t be purchased with Nature Spirit energy, only through trade with rare artifacts.

There were also many Sky Armors, including unique types like Sister Lisa’s.

Some of them were massive — up to ten meters tall — and appeared capable of enlarging their users’ bodies.

"Young Master, is there anything you’re looking for?" one of the shop attendants approached him — a young woman, probably seventeen, beautiful and composed, with her hair neatly tied up.

"Do you sell anything that can help me become one with the world?" Richard asked.

It was said that such a thing could only be achieved through one’s own effort — but Richard didn’t fully believe there were no magical items in existence that could help.

Since he was in a Magic Shop, he figured it was worth asking — even if it was a long shot.

Naturally, his words left the attendant completely stunned.
