Chapter 616: Chapter 616: All His Success in Life Came from Women

"It seems like you’re worried Tang Li will be upset," Fu Si said ingratiatingly. "These past few months have been incredibly busy, and we even had closed training sessions. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have lost contact with you. I did well on the makeup exam last time, but if I fail the final exam this time, I can’t face my family."

So, there was really no love or hatred involved.

Tang Li looked at the young man in front of her, slightly tugging at her lips. He had come to Wentan Garden because he didn’t want to retake the exam and get his arm broken again.

"Get in the car; I’ll take you to your relative’s house."

If he had a tail, it would probably be wagging like a propeller by now.

This time, Tang Li didn’t refuse him.

Sitting on the motorcycle, Fu Si handed over a helmet: "It’s a bit hot with this on, but you’re a public figure now. It’s better not to show your face when you go out."

Half an hour later, the motorcycle stopped outside the residential area where the Lai family lived.

Fu Si stretched his neck to look inside.

Tang Li returned the helmet to him and thanked him, but Fu Si said, "Can I come in for a drink of water?"

"..." Tang Li.

Fu Si glanced at her: "It’s okay if not; I’ll be leaving then."

After saying that, he handed over the luggage bag to Tang Li.

"Let’s go in together then."

Tang Li suddenly said, "I only get along so-so with my relatives, I can’t entertain you properly, but I can offer you a drink of water."

Fu Si was Song Baiyan’s nephew, and sooner or later, the Fu Family would know about her situation. Tang Li had thought it over; rather than cover things up, it was better to be somewhat honest to avoid future issues.

With approval obtained, Fu Si had already gotten off the motorcycle.

Tang Li led Fu Si into the residential area, and as they approached the Lai Mansion, Fu Si looked at the "Lai Mansion" inscription on the wall, momentarily stupefied. Even as a wealthy and idle third-generation heir, he knew quite a bit about the circles they moved in. After Tang Li rang the doorbell, he tugged at her sleeve: "Your family’s relatives are well-off. This neighborhood, this location, this courtyard, cost at least ten million when they bought it seven to eight years ago."

Today, the asking price would be fifty million, and they might not even sell.

"My uncle’s wife is wealthy," Tang Li said.

Fu Si’s face showed realization, leaning in to ask her: "Your uncle is a ’phoenix man,’ right? The kind who, with the effort of the whole family, studies hard for over a decade and finally becomes a golden phoenix flying out from a mountain nest, getting spotted by a rich young lady and stepping to the peak of life?"

"Pretty much."

Tang Li nodded: "Anyway, in his life, his success depends on women."

As she finished speaking, the entrance was opened by domestic help.

Fu Si, holding his own helmet, entered inspecting and admiring: "Your uncle is not bad, living off a woman to this level; this yard could even rival my family’s."

Walking into the mansion, Fu Si sat down in the entranceway to take off his shoes.

Tang Li grabbed a pair of men’s slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them next to Fu Si, when a harsh scolding voice came: "Who allowed you to bring a strange man back? This is the Lai family, not one of your messy places. You may shame yourself, but we still have to face people out there!"

Fu Si turned his head following the voice, seeing only a plump, silver-haired old lady, leaning on a cane with one hand and being supported by a caretaker with the other, looking like she was ready to drive them out.

"Who are you?" Fu Si stood up.

He had always been a troublemaker and wasn’t really afraid of anyone.

Old Madam Lai was surprised, followed by indignation, tapping her cane hard on the ground: "You ask who I am? You barge into someone else’s house and you ask who I am?!"
