Chapter 155: Ch 155 : God of the Gods
As the golden tide of faith from 5.5 billion Gods finally settled, Sunny activated his God’s Eye, his gaze turning inward to assess the profound change within himself. The first thing he saw was the number, a figure so astronomically vast it seemed to defy reality itself.
[Faith Points: 4,225,462,738,283,126]
Four quadrillion. The number was so large that even he, the richest God in existence, found it absurd. But it was the line below it that truly stole his breath. A new talent had been born from this unprecedented anointment.
[Talent Name: God of the Gods (SSS-Grade)]
The name itself sent a tremor through his soul. It wasn’t just a talent. It was a title. A mantle.
The very definition of his new existence. He delved into its description, and his mind, which had witnessed the birth of universes and the death of gods, was filled with a new and profound awe.
[Description: As the God of all the Gods in your multiverse, your authority within it is now supreme.
Any faith generated within this universe for an unknown or unclaimed entity will automatically flow to you.
You now possess the authority to open or close the barrier surrounding this multiverse.
As the ultimate talent of this reality, all attacks originating from within this multiverse, be they magical or physical, are nullified against you.]
"What is this..." Sunny whispered. He hadn’t copied a talent. He hadn’t learned a new law.
He had been given one, bestowed upon him by the collective will of billions of his followers. It was an SSS-Grade talent so overpowered it bordered on absolute.
But then he looked at the Note below the description:
[Note : Nullified doesn’t mean it would cancel everything, if the attack is too powerful. You would still be hurt, even if most of the force will be nullified]
Even with the note that an overwhelmingly powerful attack could still harm him, the implications were staggering. Within his own corner of the cosmos, he was now untouchable.
He looked out at the 5.5 billion divine projections still waiting in the grand assembly. His responsibility was now as vast as his power.
"Thank you for trusting me with this immense faith," Sunny’s voice boomed, but it was different now. It was no longer just the voice of a man; it was deeper, more resonant, a sound that seemed to emanate from the fabric of space-time itself, like the cosmos giving a decree. "Now, you will see your faith put to use."
He rose from his throne, his gaze falling upon the 420 trembling, terrified souls on the platform below.
"For the misdeeds you have committed, for the suffering you have caused, and for the betrayal of the sacred duty of a creator," his voice declared, "I, God Cosmos, hereby decree that your status as a God shall be revoked. You will be stripped of your divinity. You shall become mortal once again."
As the last word fell, 4.2 quadrillion faith points vanished from his reserves in an instant. The expenditure was so immense that the entire multiverse shook, a cosmic tremor that was felt in every star and on every planet.
In the judgment hall, the 420 divine beings screamed. It was a sound of pure, soul-shattering agony. Their auras, once brilliant suns of power, flickered, sputtered, and died.
They collapsed to the platform, their immortal forms shrinking, their divine features melting away like wax, leaving behind 420 terrified, weeping mortals in their place, their minds broken by the loss of everything they had.
The six billion Gods who witnessed this were utterly dumbstruck. A stunned, horrified silence filled the chat.
"What... what just happened?" one God finally typed, his words trembling. "A single command... and 420 Gods... just became mortal."
"And you seem to be forgetting," another replied, his own voice filled with awe, "many of them were S-Grade talent holders. Some even had SS-Grade talents. And he... he just converted them to mortal"
"He is our Boss for a reason, you know," Reflection’s calm voice cut through the chaos, a statement of simple, undeniable fact.
"What Boss?" Zir’s voice boomed with pride. "He is the Emperor of us Gods!"
A chorus of agreement erupted. The titles flew fast and furious: Emperor Cosmos, the God of the Multiverse, the God of Gods.
Sunny let the praise wash over him for a moment before raising a hand, commanding silence once more. "Now, now, please stop with the praises," he said, a hint of his old, playful self returning. He gestured towards the now-mortal culprits. "These... mortals... are now in my God space. If any of you wish to come and ’play’ with them, you are always welcome."
A wave of cruel, satisfied cheers answered him. They knew that in Sunny’s space, these mortals could not die, their torment a potentially eternal lesson.
For the independent Gods watching, however, the message was a cold, clear threat: this is what happens to those who defy the new order. Agree with what God Cosmos says, or be ready for your end.
"So, Boss," Zir asked, "how do we decide who gets to take their planets?"
"What is a better way to decide something than a tournament?" Sunny replied mysteriously.
"What kind of tournament?" Zir groaned. "A fight between us Gods? You would win everything! You would ace any game! I don’t think I’d ever win."
"We are Gods," Sunny said, his voice taking on a regal tone. "What would others think if we brawled amongst ourselves for a few planets when we have an entire multiverse to manage? No. This will be a grand festival, a tournament to showcase the strength of our creations"
"There will be two contests: a tournament for your greatest mortal champions, and a tournament for your demigods. The top 100 winners in each category will be granted these new worlds."
The non-Pantheon members listened, their hearts sinking. They knew the odds were impossibly stacked against them. But they said nothing.
Their chance to join had passed, and after the display of power they had just witnessed, no one dared to voice an objection.
The distant SSS-Grade treasures were forgotten, replaced by the immediate, tangible prize of 420 new worlds.
"When will this competition start, Emperor Cosmos?" Zir asked, his eyes gleaming with ambition. The entire multiverse was now playing a new game, and God Cosmos had just set all the rules for the multiverse.
