Chapter 179: Destructive Clash!

Chapter 178

"Alright. Here comes the full power and speed of an S rank hunter." Drey declared, and instantly, the ground began rumbling loudly, almost as if an earthquake was about to erupt. Dust and small debris kicked up from the alleyway as he prepared to strike.

BANG!

Drey shot forward almost like the speed of light, appearing in front of the demon at first, then pivoted sharply to the side. The sudden movement caused the demon to spin around, barely keeping up as the hunter’s sword blazed toward its face with deadly intent.

The demon blocked with its sickles, and the next second, it felt like a bomb had detonated on the ground. The entire alley seemed to explode in a massive shockwave, sending debris flying and slamming into a nearby stall, crumbling it to the ground. Dust and smoke filled the air, temporarily blinding anyone watching.

This did not stop the demon. With lethal precision, it swung its second sickle toward the hunter’s head, aiming to end the confrontation.

But in a flash, Drey ducked low, moving with fluid, calculated speed, and didn’t hesitate for even a heartbeat. His fist shot forward and drove straight through the demon’s stomach with crushing force.

A shockwave radiated outward from the impact, blasting everything nearby. The demon’s body zoomed backward, smashing into a parked car and splitting it cleanly in two. The sheer impact shook the ground beneath it and rattled the remaining stalls in the street.

The demon’s body bounced for a few seconds before coming to a halt, embedding its sickle into the ground to stabilize itself. Flames erupted from the wrecked car, licking hungrily at the debris, forming a fiery barrier between it and Drey.

Slashing through the flames, Drey’s weapon struck with blazing speed, closing in on the demon. The creature rolled swiftly to evade the strike, but the sword slammed into the ground, kicking up chunks of stone and dirt.

In a counterattack, the demon drove its feet through the hunter’s side, sending him hurtling into another stall. The building collapsed under his weight, dust and splintered wood raining down around him.

Not willing to give ground, the demon kicked the rubble beneath it and darted forward like a missile, closing in on the spot where it had sent the hunter flying just moments ago.

Drey emerged from the wreckage of the stall, his body steady despite the violent impact. Before him, the demon grabbed its weapon by one of the blades and swung it forward, sending the second blade streaking through the air toward him at impossible speed.

The S rank reacted instinctively, raising his sword to block the strike. For a moment, he believed he had successfully stopped it. But the weapon twisted unnaturally, curling around his blade. The chains coiled tightly, yet the sickle still shot forward, aiming for Drey’s most vulnerable spot.

To avoid being pierced in a lethal strike, the hunter twisted sharply, letting the weapon jam into his shoulder instead. Blood spurted profusely from the wound, searing pain shooting up his arm and forcing him to grit his teeth.

Yanking his sword back, Drey felt it glow brighter with power. The blade sliced cleanly through the chains, separating the weapon back into a sickle. The demon seized the opportunity, swinging its weapon again in a relentless assault.

Drey blocked with his sword, but the sickle grazed past, its edge snapping dangerously close to his face.

Max, standing several metres away, struggled to comprehend the movements. Both combatants were too fast for him to track, a blur of strikes and counterattacks that left his eyes strained.

Only when their speed momentarily slowed could he catch a glimpse of the demon’s weapon streaking toward Drey’s face. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to anticipate the outcome, unsure how the S rank would react.

[Ruler’s Hand Activated]

’I’m not so useless!’ Max roared internally as he held out his hand. Without wasting a moment, the burning car in the distance lifted into the air, trembling with heat and smoke. With a powerful shove, Max hurled it straight at the demon.

The demon, hearing the sound of something roaring through the air and burning, quickly spun around. Its eyes widened in shock as it saw the blazing car hurtling toward it. Drey, anticipating the attack, dove swiftly out of the way, rolling to the side as the demon lifted its hands across its face in a desperate attempt to block the oncoming strike.

WAM!

The car smashed into the demon’s guard with the impact of a speeding bullet train. The force was so immense that the demon was instantly lifted off its feet and hurled backward into an unsuspecting house that had been quietly standing nearby, now bearing the full brunt of the attack.

CRASH!

The demon slammed into the building, leaving a gaping hole in the wall. Its hands were mangled and bleeding from the impact, and it staggered out slowly, blood dripping down as the wounds regenerated.

’That dragon has become a problem for me. Curse it!’ the demon thought, its rage bubbling up. Before it could react further, Drey appeared in front of it faster than ever before. Blood dripped from the corners of his mouth, yet he did not care. He had caught the twisted creature completely by surprise.

Without hesitation, he grabbed the demon by the face and rocketed forward.

BAM!

He smashed the demon’s face straight into the wall of the building it had already been hurled into moments ago. But Drey did not stop there. With ferocious speed, he pulled the creature from the wall and dashed around, smashing its head repeatedly into every weak point of the building.

From side to side, he blitzed with relentless fury, leaving the structure riddled with cracks and punctures. Blood poured from the demon’s head, yet the fire in its eyes burned fiercely, unyielding and full of rage.

Without a shred of honor, the demon’s mouth opened wide. It lunged and sank its teeth into Drey, causing blood to spill from the hunter’s face.

"Oh! You want my flesh? How about my boot?!" Drey shouted, swinging his leg upward with deadly intent toward the demon’s head.

But in a shocking display of speed, the demon grabbed the leg mid-air, halting it instantly. Releasing its grip from Drey’s hand in its mouth, it spun violently several times, holding the hunter’s leg like a weapon.

Then, with brutal strength, it hurled Drey straight into the building he had been using to punish it. The S rank hunter’s body crashed into a weak point in the structure, blood spraying from his mouth as the walls buckled under the impact.

"Hunter DREY!" Jake shouted, staggering out of the alleyway just in time to witness the hunter smashed into the building.

And tragically, the building could not withstand the punishment. With a final groan of protest, it crumbled into a pile of rubble, burying the S rank hunter under debris and dust. Smoke and shattered wood filled the air as the alleyway fell silent, save for the echoes of destruction.
