Chapter 183: Chapter 183- Spark
Meanwhile, in the second division, Clarissa stood at the center of the storm, her eyes sharp and unflinching. With a flick of her hand, her telekinesis slammed into the massive bird, crushing its wings with raw kinetic energy. The beast shrieked, feathers scattering as it fought to break free.
But then, its body sparked violently, electricity coursing over its feathers, arcs of lightning surging outward as it built a dangerous charge.
Clarissa raised her hand calmly, a shimmering shield forming around her body. The thunder cracked against her barrier, sparks exploding in all directions, yet she didn’t flinch. With controlled precision, she pushed back again, her telekinesis hammering the creature mid-air.
The bird screeched, enraged, and beat its wings furiously. With a sudden dive, it charged straight toward Clarissa.
At that exact moment, Reimon’s voice rang out: "Now!" He thrust his arm forward, opening a glowing gate before the charging bird.
From the other side burst Sefi, lightning already crackling across her form. She unleashed a devastating blast of electricity, the bolts wrapping around the bird’s body in a violent chain. The creature convulsed, but instead of falling, it absorbed the lightning greedily, its body glowing brighter with unstable energy.
"Oh no..." Sefi whispered, her voice trembling uncontrollably. But she didn’t back down. Again and again, she hurled spears of lightning, forcing more and more power into the beast.
The bird’s body began to swell with the overload, sparks flying chaotically. Its screeches turned frantic.
Finally, with a deafening crack, the monster overcharged, its body erupting in a violent explosion of lightning. The force hurled it backward, charred feathers raining down, its body scorched and bleeding.
But instead of weakening, its eyes blazed with unbridled rage. Its cry pierced the skies, louder and more furious than ever.
The air cracked with fury as the bird recovered, its entire body sparking like a storm given flesh. With a roar that split the skies, it dove back toward the three of them, lightning bursting violently from its wings.
Clarissa raised her hand again, a shimmering telekinetic barrier snapping into place just in time. The first blast of electricity struck the shield with a bone-rattling boom, the air itself trembling from the impact. Her jaw tightened, sweat breaking across her brow as she held the barrier firm.
"Hold it steady!" Reimon shouted, slamming his hands into the ground. A second gate shimmered into existence beneath the bird, distorting its momentum, pulling at its massive body like a vacuum. The monster screeched, thrashing as it tried to resist the gravitational pull of the spatial tear.
But it didn’t stop, the bird channeled raw lightning into a concentrated beam, firing straight at them.
Clarissa’s shield buckled, cracks of light running across its surface. "I can’t hold it much longer!" she hissed.
"Wait, I can— just let me help!" Sefi stammered, surging forward anxiously. Her hands lit up with arcs of lightning, but instead of firing at the beast, she poured her energy into Clarissa’s shield. The crackling barrier shimmered brighter, reinforced with raw electricity, turning the bird’s own attack back against it.
The ground trembled as the two forces clashed. Sparks scorched the earth, the smell of ozone flooding the air.
The beam finally broke apart, scattering into wild bolts. Clarissa staggered, gasping, but still on her feet. Reimon gritted his teeth, pulling the gate wider, forcing the bird’s wing inside for a split second before the beast ripped free, shrieking with rage.
The three stood together, scorched, battered, but still holding the line.
"We’re not going down that easily," Clarissa muttered, her voice steady despite the strain.
The bird circled above, its fury undimmed, preparing for another strike.
The bird shrieked again, its wings crackling as it gathered a new storm. Every feather bristled with sparks, each one charged enough to kill a dozen men.
Clarissa stepped forward, extending both hands, her telekinetic shield flaring to life once more. The barrier shimmered like glass under stress, each strike from the creature hammering into it with explosive force. Her knees shook, but her eyes burned with defiance.
"Alright,"she said softly but firmly, "I can take it."
Behind her, Reimon’s gaze darted across the battlefield, calculating every angle. The bird’s movements were wild but predictable in its rage. If he could force it to expose its core, just for a second—
"There," he muttered, thrusting his palms down. A gate tore open just under the beast’s talon as it swooped low. The spatial rift dragged at its leg, twisting its flight path violently. The bird screeched, off-balance, flapping desperately to regain control.
"Now, Sefi!" Reimon shouted.
Sefi’s eyes gleamed with determination. She raised her arms, lightning arcing across her body until her entire frame was wrapped in a storm of white-blue sparks. Instead of hurling it outward, she focused, narrowing the current, forcing it to leap straight into the bird’s open wounds.
The creature convulsed midair, its own body betraying it as Sefi’s current invaded, mingling with its unstable energy. Sparks erupted from within its chest, its wings stiffening.
"So you...you like hoarding lightning?" Sefi’s voice shook, barely more than a whisper. "Well, here... take mine!"
The bird screamed, a sound half pain, half fury, as its body glowed with unstable energy. Smoke poured from its feathers, its lightning crackling out of rhythm, burning from the inside.
Clarissa gritted her teeth, bracing the shield against the bird’s desperate thrashing. Reimon kept tearing open smaller gates to tug at its wings and talons, keeping it off balance while Sefi poured in more energy.
Finally, with a deafening crack, the bird’s body jolted, arcs of uncontrolled lightning bursting outward, scorching the battlefield.
Clarissa, panting but unbroken, shouted, "It’s losing control, keep pushing!"
The giant bird convulsed in the air, arcs of lightning bursting from its chest and wings. Its shriek split the sky as its body swelled with unstable energy. Then, with a blinding flash, it lost altitude, spiraling downward until it slammed into the ground with an earth-shaking crash. Dust and sparks erupted around its massive frame.
For a moment, everything was still. Then its talons twitched. Its chest heaved. The beast was still alive.
Sefi staggered forward, her body trembling, every step unsteady. Her arms flickered with faint lightning, but her power was fading fast. "I... I can finish it... Just one more strike..." Her voice cracked, her breathing shallow.
