Chapter 549: Chapter 41: Krimasha Relics (2)_2

"Alright, I’m leaving now, City Lord." The Wood Elf bowed and then turned to squeeze back through the gap.

Only Jones, Dora, and Lucy remained in the tunnel.

Jones looked at Lucy and asked, "Aunt Lucy, can you sense what’s behind the wall?"

Lucy stood silently, the soul fire in her eye sockets flickering slightly. After a while, she spoke lightly, "There is a magic source inside."

"A magic source?" Jones was taken aback.

Apparently, Jones couldn’t fully comprehend what Lucy saw. So, Lucy placed one hand on Jones’ shoulder armor.

Suddenly, a scene never seen before appeared before Jones’ eyes.

The whole world instantly became "transparent," yes, "transparent." But it wasn’t the ordinary kind of transparency.

Everything around disappeared, and Jones seemed to be in a pitch-black, boundless space. He could see, from his position, at a thirty-degree downward angle, about five kilometers away, there was a huge glowing spot. It was like a sun, but not as scorching and dazzling, rather, it was gentle. At the center of this spot, there were dozens of smaller spots floating around it.

These spots were arranged in a pattern. Between each spot, tiny lines connected them, with magic power flowing through them.

Meanwhile, in Jones’ vision, the Wood Elf outside the gap turned into a small star-like bright spot, Dora beside him became a slightly larger bright spot, and Jones himself was a larger bright spot than Dora. Conversely, Lucy disappeared entirely from Jones’ vision.

As Lucy withdrew her hand, Jones’ vision returned to normal.

"This is..."

"Magic power perception. I suppressed my magic power, so you shouldn’t be able to see me. Transparent-type magic is useless here, only magic perception-type magic still works." Saying this, Lucy walked to the wall and gently touched the stone wall, "This wall indeed has no magic, but it does have materials that prevent transparent-type magic. Not ordinary transparent-preventing materials either. They’re materials even I can’t see through."

"Even Aunt Lucy can’t see through?" Jones was shocked.

"Yes, I can’t see through it. And I can guarantee that no Lich in the White Bone Holy Light Court can use transparent-type magic on it."

"Why is it then that magic power perception still works?"

"I don’t know. It needs to be studied back at home."

Upon hearing this, Jones slowly smiled, somewhat unbelievably looking at the stone bricks on the wall, "So there really is a treasure in the ruins. Even the walls are treasures?"

Dora widened her eyes in surprise.

"I think... perhaps." Lucy answered hesitantly.

"But, if that’s the case, why didn’t Heaven and Hell just destroy the ruins? If they wanted what was inside, they should have excavated it long ago. But they didn’t. If they don’t want it, why did they leave the ruins intact?"

"I don’t know." Perceiving carefully, Lucy said, "This magic source is quite large. It might be the largest I’ve ever seen."

"Larger than the magic source at the Dragon’s Peak?"

"Sorry, I’ve never seen that one. During the Dragon’s Peak battle, I was in my soul box. However, the biggest magic source was a light-type magic source, larger than Jeremy’s own magic source, that’s for sure."

Jeremy, who led the Angel Army against Gray during the Salted Fish Port battle, and negotiated with Richie as Heaven’s Envoy during the Dragon’s Peak battle. Among all the Heaven forces on the Keltos Continent, he was the second best after the Holy Spirit.

"So, there is either a very powerful magic array inside, or a very powerful person?" Jones asked.

"I lean towards a powerful magic array." Lucy answered.

"Alright, I understand." Jones took a step back, then said, "Aunt Lucy, please break the wall. Be careful with the strength, we still want what’s inside."

Dora also quietly moved aside.

"Okay." Lucy slowly raised her hand, extended five bony claws towards the wall, and chanted a spell.

With a "bang," it felt as if the whole world was shaking.

The intense air currents mixed with sand sprayed out through the gap in the tunnel, startling the Wood Elf at the entrance.

The dust settled, revealing the immovable wall in front of Jones.

"Is magic ineffective?"

"Seems like it."

"Remarkable, the outer layer of the stone bricks has such great secrets. It looks like we need Krimasha’s secrets more than the Blood Elves."

"Step aside."

"Okay."

Jones and Dora obediently moved away.

Lucy directly applied a Nine-fold Giant Strength spell on herself. Nine-fold Giant Strength, the highest limit a Giant Strength spell could reach.

She stepped forward, her bony fingers caught in the crevices of the stone bricks, and she exerted force. However, she quickly gave up, "Even the enhancement magic is useless, seems like it needs pure strength."

Saying this, Lucy looked at Jones.

Jones quickly stepped forward and punched the wall.

With a dull "bang," the wall seemed to shake twice, but that was all.

It worked, but the strength was too small.

"Maybe we need to get a dragon here." Dora said helplessly, shaking her head.

"Let’s think of another way, if it doesn’t work, let Adelle try. His strength is greater than mine." Jones held a firestick, walking along the tunnel, checking everywhere.

*I have to say, it’s just the beginning, yet the Krimasha Relics already gave Jones too much shock. It’s imaginable that the inside is indeed full of mysteries. Yet, not being able to step even one foot inside is quite embarrassing.*

"Maybe Heaven and Hell don’t want to destroy this place, but they can’t?" Lucy sighed, "I feel this place is completely designed to counter magic. Excluding magic, Heaven and Hell are indeed less powerful than the Dragon Clan."

"Aunt Lucy, during the Krimasha era, did you ever visit human cities?" Jones asked.

"Uh... no. During the Krimasha era, I was only about three thousand years old. I was still a young Lich then. I was obsessed with magic, studying it underground every day, and only heard about the surface world."

"If obsessed with magic, Krimasha era human magic was very developed, why didn’t you ask them for guidance?"

"Because we followed different paths. On the magical foundation, human magic and lich magic are the same, but the advancement is completely different. Human magic emphasizes collaboration. A single person’s magical power is quite limited, but combined, it can be very powerful. For example, a magic array. I know the most complex magic array humans have requires tens of thousands of materials. If you’re just a Lich, collecting tens of thousands of materials is an impossible task. The time is too long, during which you constantly discover new things, overthrow yourself, and the magic array will never be completed. Or even if it is completed, it’s already out of date. But for humans, it’s possible. They break the tens of thousands of materials into ten categories, then into thousands of sub-categories, and mobilize the entire race to complete them. In fact, they have always been doing what you’re asking us to do."

"What I asked you to do?"

"Magical artifacts. I heard humans during the Krimasha era were very adept in magical applications. Probably because humans are more utilitarian than all species."

"Haha, are you saying I’m very utilitarian?"

"Though I don’t particularly want to say it, it’s true. You are very utilitarian, goal-oriented. Eternal species usually don’t have clear goals, because we have endless life to waste. Being too serious is tiring. Only short-lived species are like this, such as humans."

"But I am also an eternal species."

"So you’re an outlier. Your father Gray was too. Of course, you’re more utilitarian than him. I like you because I can’t do it myself. So I’m willing to help you."

"Thank you, Aunt Lucy." Squatting in the corner, Jones inspected carefully.

It was a collapsed tunnel, with a large patch of tree roots and dirt tangled together, blocking the way.

Standing up, Jones pointed to a corner, "This is the spot. If we break it open, it should be a path."
