Chapter 307: Chapter 211: The Second Red Scourge_3
Damn it!
Just as the Moon Elf commander thought she was certainly going to die this time, a breeze blew by. From the corner of her eye, she saw a wisp of smoke taking shape midair. It continually morphed, finally becoming the silhouette of a sleek and graceful female figure stepping forward. It was like a sudden burst of moonlight flooding the sky, which slashed through the orb resembling an artillery shell. The orb split into two halves that brushed past her before crashing into the already crumbling mountainside.
Her eyes shone like the brightest stars in the night sky, and her skin seemed brushed with moonlight, giving it a soft, silvery glow. She wore a seemingly simple silver robe, but when light struck it from different angles, patterns like constellations would shimmer across its surface. She casually tossed aside the longsword that had cleaved the orb and retrieved a longbow from her back, intricately carved with complex Elven runes. The bowstring glimmered in the moonlight like a flowing river of stars. As she drew the bow, an arrow shot forth—a dazzling streak of light aimed at the Dragon soaring in the sky.
"Princess Aria!" Idres barely had time to rejoice.
Then, another figure dashed out from the dense forest. It was an Elven shadow, a blur of motion wielding a curved, enchanted blade that streamed with light. This Elf leaped from the cliff, shooting towards the hovering Red Dragon in the sky with a speed second only to that of the arrow.
However, the Red Dragon seemed well-prepared. Seeing formidable opponents appear, it unleashed all five of its remaining, not yet fully charged, vibrant orbs. Then, with a malicious laugh, it clashed briefly with the exceptionally agile Elf before spreading its wings and retreating into Fesentelerus’s Portal, which had been prepared in advance.
Hmph, I actually lured out Legendary Ones. Two of them, no less. Worth the price of admission.
Only then did Idres feel as if he had been dragged back from the shores of the Styx River. However, upon recognizing the newcomers, he couldn’t help but exclaim again, "Lord Leopold!"
This was another long-famous legend. He had both Moon Elf and Drow bloodlines yet had managed to escape the Gloomy Region through exceptional talent and astonishing willpower. Ultimately, Feimar, the Elven Wandering God, had chosen him as a God’s Favored One.
As for Aria, she was the Star Singer, sister to the current Elf Queen Arasya, and also the current chosen champion of Sahani of the Moonbow.
Just as Idres was reeling from the Elves’ profound concern for the Red Dragon, David Uthos, a voice spoke.
"Tsk, he got away fast. I was hoping to invite him back to Dewensen Academy to discuss spellcasting without incantations."
"Teacher..." Upon hearing this familiar voice behind him, Idres felt his head go numb, as if from lack of oxygen.
For the newcomer was none other than Menekver, the Court Mage who had served three generations of Elf Kings of Dewensen. He was the very one whose single statement had once forced the principal of Dewensen Academy to resign.
"Do we need to pursue?"
Idres turned his stiffening neck and looked at the two other Elves who had appeared, as if from nowhere, on either side of Menekver.
Although he had never met them, he knew they were most likely the last two Legendary Ones stationed in Skanis: Vileili and Lord Bradimir, the God’s Favored Ones of Lebrilas, the Elven God of Destiny and History, and Ririfin, the Elven God of Forests.
For a young Red Dragon, Arasya, the Elf Queen of Eternal Gathering Island, had actually deployed a force comparable to that which Tempas, the War God, used to hunt down Pafila, the Crimson Calamity.
And at that moment, David, filled with self-satisfaction for successfully luring out two Legendary Ones... was, in fact, not even an adult yet.
