"Children of the Myriad-Colored Scales! Since the Dragonfall War ten thousand years ago, instigated by that androgynous Elf deity Corellon, and under the influence of the Dragon Mad Lock, which betrayed our great Dragons, we Chromatic Dragons were compelled to abandon Toriel—the cradle of our kind—and leave our homeland. But! The exalted Chromatic Dragon Queen has made Her decision: She has selected and dispatched Her most trusted Chosen of God to bring down The Slaying King Star. Twelve years hence, when The Slaying King Star returns to Toriel, that will be when the Dragon Mad Lock is destroyed.
"And it will also be the time for the resurgence of our Chromatic Dragon brood!"
"Oh!" Upon hearing these words, the Dragons, who were originally just looking for suitable planes to wage war on for some extra income, couldn't help but widen their eyes.
What in the world? The Dragon Queen is finally going to deal with that accursed star? Also, nearly a thousand years have passed, and aside from the Crimson Calamity, Pafila, is there now a new Chosen? But wait, the Dragon Queen's Chosen must surely be one of the Chromatic Dragons; as a great Dragon, how could one possibly withstand the Dragon Mad Lock and bring down The Slaying King Star?
For a moment, the onlooking Dragons were somewhat dubious. However, they recalled this was the Evil Scale Fortress, and the speaker was a devotee of the Dragon Queen. To invoke the Dragon Queen in such a manner was tantamount to swearing an oath in Her name.
This realization finally elicited a tidal wave of exclamations from the Dragons.
"May I ask the name of this Chosen Dragon?" one Dragon inquired directly, and the surrounding Dragons almost rolled their eyes.
This one was clearly looking to curry favor early on.
They knew that if this feat were accomplished, it would be the magical world's equivalent of 'Hou Yi shooting the sun'—a living myth walking the earth.
At that point, no amount of glory bestowed upon such a hero would be excessive.
But the Ancient Blue Dragon simply wore an 'it-cannot-be-spoken' expression, leaving the crowd of great Dragons itching with curiosity.
They also understood this was likely a gambit by the Dragon Queen Herself—a direct 'proclamation to the world' of Her intentions.
However, the exact identity could not be publicly revealed; otherwise, that individual would become a public target.
Only David, hidden among the Dragons, nearly laughed out loud. If only they knew that the Dragon Queen's 'Chosen of God' was actually the Spider Goddess, Rose! I can only imagine their expressions. And if they knew it was I, David Uthos, who was entrusted with this top-secret, epic quest by the Dragon Queen and actually succeeded... Hehehehe. They'd better hurry over and grovel at my claws! A whole bevy of female Chromatic Dragons would probably line up, rears presented, eagerly awaiting my pleasure...
[Sin of Lust]
Damn it! There go my lustful thoughts again... David snapped out of it, realizing he had drifted behind a female White Dragon.
That female White Dragon was 'innocent' enough to only turn her head, confused, as David brushed against her. Upon seeing that David was a handsome young Dragon, she smiled shyly, perhaps treating it as an encounter with an 'Alms-giving Bodhisattva.' Just as she was about to strike up a conversation, the Ancient Blue Dragon on the dais began to rally the assembled Dragons, urging them to eagerly sign up for Toriel's 'infiltration mission.' This mission was in preparation for The Slaying King Star's fall and the subsequent war to expel the High Elves. David seized the opportunity and quickly slipped away.
But just as he completed a circuit of the 'mission hall' within the Evil Scale Fortress and, finding nothing of interest, was about to leave, David abruptly retreated.
For there, at the edge of the plaza, he spotted a familiar figure.
A young 'Red Dragon' who bore a strong, at least seven-tenths, resemblance to him.
After searching high and low, she turns up here of all places! Isn't that my sister, Tania? But wasn't she supposed to be training with the Red Dragon ancestor, Ephelomon? What's she doing here?
Then he saw Tania. She was standing alone, a handmade sign hanging around her neck. It read: 'Skanis, on the prime material plane of Elariya, has fallen! Please help us reclaim our territory from the Elves!' She was hailing passing Dragons, approaching each one to say:
"Excuse me, sir, could you spare a few minutes? I'd like to tell you about my brother, who is also our lord—David Uthos..."
"..." David was speechless, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
It's a straightforward recruitment drive, but the way my sister describes it, it sounds like a pyramid scheme! Wait a minute... Skanis has fallen? Those blasted Elves! Did they raid my home while I was away?
"DAMN IT!!!"
