Chapter 353: Episode 33.4 A Bedtime Story Instead Of Quickie
"Hehehe!" Yanyan’s uncontrollable giggle escaped his lips the moment his back landed on his parents’ bed.
It’s been a while since he shared a bed with his papa and daddy. That is why it is not surprising he is practically whistling like a kettle from excitement.
"Daddy, Papa! I will sleep between you two!"
Shen Yuan’s genuine smile blossomed. "Of course, that is the spot reserved only for you."
However, if anyone glanced into his eyes—currently glued to his husband—they’d practically see neon letters flashing, "Are you sure about this?" complete with a blinking question mark.
Yes, Bai Tingfeng, the rascal, is the one who proposed that their son sleep in their room.
Don’t get it wrong, Shen Yuan loved the idea of cuddling his cute son to sleep. It’s just that the timing was too suspicious.
’If this is not a deliberate attempt to avoid me, then I don’t know what is,’ Shen Yuan thought to himself.
"Ehem." Bai Tingfeng turned away from Shen Yuan’s piercing gaze, clearly buying time. It wasn’t that he minded donating his sperm—he just preferred to do it once his husband’s current bout of insanity had simmered down.
Shen Yuan’s eyes narrowed to razor-sharp slits. ’You think I’ll just let you off the hook?’
People like Bai Tingfeng were simply too fun to tease. He was like catnip for the celestial fox’s overstimulated brain—instant entertainment, instant mischief fuel.
"Alright, guys. Bedtime!" Shen Yuan announced cheerily, guiding both husband and son onto the mattress.
Naturally, his scheming mind ensured they ended up very close. Just one casual stretch of his leg, and—voilà!—his thigh was draped over Bai Tingfeng’s. Hehehe.
"Ah!" Bai Tingfeng sucked in a sharp breath. Damn it, his pregnant husband was rubbing against him!
The alpha slammed his eyes shut, chanting silently: ’Don’t get hard. Don’t get hard. For the love of all that’s holy, don’t get hard!’
And just when he thought divine intervention might actually ghost him—
"Kriiiik!"
A loud scratching echoed from the door.
Shen Yuan clicked his tongue. "What the—seriously, what is it this time?"
Bai Tingfeng stood up in a snap and approached the door.
Yanyan, who has been watching his parents’ jokes, sat up and looked at the door, brimming with curiosity.
Bai Tingfeng opened the door, and to everyone’s surprise, a giant panda was standing in front of the door.
"Yangyang!" The little boy’s face immediately lit up once he saw his pet. "Yangyang must have missed me. Daddy, can he stay here with us?"
"Ha!" Of course, for the fussy, pregnant celestial fox spirit, there is no way in hell he will be okay to share a room with a lowly panda!
However, he just can’t spoil the happiness of his son.
"Fine, but he is off the bed." Shen Yuan declared like a tyrant.
Bai Tingfeng, the alpha, shot Shen Yuan a look before opening the door wide—like it was his sworn duty.
People liked to say alphas were the superior gender, but in this household, the one who took the dick wrote the law.
"Good boy," Shen Yuan purred, tongue rolling with smugness sharp enough to crack the ceiling. That smugness, however, evaporated the moment he realized how crowded their bedroom had suddenly become.
Could he still tease Bai Tingfeng with this many spectators hanging around?
What about sex? Could he still sneak his husband off for a quick, satisfying knob job?
The answer: a resounding no.
Shen Yuan had just shot himself in the foot.
So while Yanyan happily tumbled off the bed to hug his panda, Shen Yuan flopped back onto the mattress and cursed his own existence.
"Yangyang! Here! Sleep near the bed!" Yanyan cheered, his voice echoing through the room. The panda chimed in with an enthusiastic "ao, ao!"
Shen Yuan buried his face in the pillow in pure despair.
Sometimes, I’m honestly amazed at my luck, Bai Tingfeng thought, lips tugging into a smile. He walked passed the panda who was lying at the foot of the bed.
"Yanyan, time for bed. Stop playing with Yangyang," he said gently, tucking his son in like the responsible parent he was.
The good boy he is, Yanyan smiled. "Papa! I love it when we sleep together like this. Of course, now that I am a big brother, I must get used to sleeping in my own room."
The little boy looked down, playing with his fingers. "I would like it if sometimes we have nights like this."
Shen Yuan quickly opened his one eye. "Hell yeah. We love cuddling our little prince. Tonight is just one of the thousand nights where we are together like this."
The celestial fox spirit fondly pinched his son’s nose. "You know what? You might have my face and charm, but you resemble your Papa a lot in terms of being meticulous. You both loved your reassurances."
Bai Tingfeng and Yanyan exchanged a look and broke into guilty little smiles. Busted.
Bai Tingfeng stretched out beside their son, and soon the family of three was lying on their backs, staring up at the ceiling like it held the answers to life.
"Daddy, I think I’m too happy to sleep," Yanyan whispered as he hugged his pregnant dad tight. "Can you tell me a bedtime story?"
"What kind of story?" Shen Yuan frowned. The only "stories" in his mental library were steamy BL plots, full of tragic debt-burdened ukes and obsessive rich gongs. Yeah... probably not Yanyan’s thing.
"Hmm... something like an adventure tale!" Yanyan said with sparkly eyes.
Bai Tingfeng, ever the traitor, added, "Why don’t you tell one of your own tales, hon?"
Shen Yuan nearly facepalmed. Great. Goodbye to his master plan of sneaking in a quick, stress-relieving blow job.
The celestial fox spirit narrowed his eyes at Bai Tingfeng, silently cursing him. This bastard was working overtime just to avoid being "milked" tonight, and not only that! It seems that Bai Tingfeng is still hellbent on learning more about him as a celestial fox spirit.
Fine. If that’s how he wanted to play it...
"Alright then..." Shen Yuan began, his voice a mix of drama and sultriness. "This isn’t exactly an adventure story. It’s more like... an origin story."
"I’m sure you’ve heard of fox spirits. After all, your favorite cartoon character is Huhu the Fox, right?"
Yanyan’s little head bobbed like a chicken pecking rice. "Yes! They’re cute beings with lots of fluffy tails!"
Shen Yuan smirked. "Cute, huh? That’s one way to put it. But in truth, real fox spirits didn’t live in a world of cuddles and fluff. From the moment they came to be, they were surrounded by danger. They had to wrestle with bloodthirsty spiritual beings who were anything but cute."
Yanyan’s glowing smile faltered, and his shoulders sank. The innocent child genuinely felt bad for his favorite fox creatures,
Noticing it, Shen Yuan backpedalled fast. "But, don’t worry! I won’t tell you the scary parts." He cleared his throat and added a sly glimmer to his tone. "Instead, let me tell you about a very special fox spirit... the one who changed his fur not once, not twice, but three times."
That immediately hooked both his son and his husband. Yanyan leaned forward eagerly, while even Bai Tingfeng tilted his head, intrigued.
"Well," Shen Yuan continued, lowering his voice into a storyteller’s hush, "this tale took place many, many years ago, back before the world even dreamed of technology. In those ancient days, forests stretched everywhere, and inside those forests lurked dangers—both physical and spiritual."
"In one particular forest, the kind humans avoided like the plague, there lived a fox demon. He was still young by fox standards, with only three tails—one for every hundred years he had survived. His fur burned a bright orange, like glowing embers, especially when sunlight hit him. Truly beautiful."
"So, he’s a beauty." Bai Tingfeng couldn’t resist cutting in, his tone dripping with amusement.
He knew perfectly well that Shen Yuan was just hyping himself up.
"He was just a brat, but yes, gorgeous," Shen Yuan fired back, his sarcasm sharp enough to slice.
"Can I continue my story without interruptions, or do you want to be the narrator tonight?"
Bai Tingfeng wisely smirked and leaned back in surrender.
"This young fox spirit was handsome, yes—but beauty alone doesn’t keep you alive when living in a forest full of predators. To not fall prey to vicious predators, he had to become more bloodthirsty than the ones coming after his ass. Almost every day, this young fox spirit is in fighting mode."
"Normal bears, enlightened monkeys, and even big ass tigers who are on the verge of turning into demons; the young fox spirit fought them off. He bathed in the blood of his enemies and, of course, his own blood, too."
"It actually came to the point that his originally orange fur turned black from the dried blood that stuck in his fur."
Yanyan gasped, "That is the first change of fur color!"
Shen Yuan smiled and nodded, "That is indeed the first fur color change."
Then his smile faded, "Blood dyed his fur— the same way it stained his conscience."
"The days of fighting for survival took a toll on him," Bai Tingfeng said. "If people live just to survive, it is natural that they feel empty as they continue. That must be the darkest time of his life."
Shen Yuan didn’t answer outright. He just shrugged his shoulders. Be sympathetic to my ass! "Then one day, he had a chance encounter with his first human."
