Chapter 1680: Chapter 1680: Transcending Dimensions
After several attempts at time reversal, Xu Huo never saw Carmen Field again. He decided not to waste Time Rays anymore, as the farther he got from the Central Divine Temple, the fewer battle scenes he could witness. Given the low likelihood of encountering Carmen Field again, it was pointless to attempt to find her.
However, during these time reversals, Xu Huo not only saw how two Divine Envoys controlled Spatial Rays but also witnessed another method of control by Carmen Field for spatiotemporal rays. Xu Huo had no influence over Time Rays, but concerning Spatial Rays, both the Divine Envy and Carmen Field reached the level described by Lady Palace. Especially the latter, who could refine the rays beyond the basic unit.
To Xu Huo, a Spatial Ray is the fundamental unit of Spatial Power. He can only manipulate this smallest unit to assemble and form objects to change the overall state of space. In his perception, the Spatial Ray is something that cannot be further refined, much like human eyes can see a speck of dust but cannot see the smaller structure or components of that dust. Smaller components are blind spots for humans.
Therefore, both subdividing and assimilating Spatial Rays are blind spots for Xu Huo.
Xu Huo obtained the "Cubic Space" from Mr. Kang in the high-risk instance, which can aid in controlling Spatial Rays. However, even after evolving his Psychic Power and successfully creating the "Confusion Barrier," he was still unable to achieve the effect Mr. Kang had, directly using the Spatial Blade to destroy an Advanced Spatial Artifact. Since Mr. Kang had died by suicide, Xu Huo knew nothing about what props or instruments allowed him to utilize Spatial Power so effectively without Super Evolution.
On reflection, using props or instruments has limitations and constraints. Only by truly mastering the power can one use it freely.
Subdividing, assimilating, or altering the form of Spatial Rays are three control directions targeting Spatial Rays. As for further evolution, it’s primarily about which direction is more likely to be realized.
Since Xu Huo had seen Carmen Field’s close-up demonstration, and this place is a suitable evolutionary site for Spatial Evolution, he decided to start by learning to subdivide Spatial Rays.
Buildings closer to the Central Divine Temple were mostly destroyed in battles, so there weren’t many eye patterns nearby. Xu Huo expanded the range of his Spiritual World, using his Psychic Power to make Spatial Rays tangible, just like when he began Spatial Evolution, to observe their state.
Assimilating Spatial Rays allows one to connect easily with the rays inside objects, ultimately changing the object’s form. This method is similar to Xu Huo’s previous approach of destroying small, poorly structured objects. He analyzed the rays’ structure to destroy the object itself, and the stronger the ability, the more easily the object could be crushed. Lady Palace’s approach was to assimilate the rays inside the object with her own rays, making it possible to easily change the object’s state. Xu Huo tried this many times without success.
Xue Lang’s direction was to alter the shape of rays entirely, turning them into Secant Lines. ray length and quantity are the direction of evolution, which seems closer to Carmen Field’s subdivision technique. Therefore, Xu Huo decided to start from these two aspects to see if similar effects could be achieved.
He first tried to influence the Spatial Rays in the nearby space, but because the rays in this Chaotic Space are harder to control than those outside, repeated attempts yielded no results. He then focused on the nearby shaped Spatial Bodies, some of which were created by Carmen Field, possibly leaving traces of fallow rays.
Even though he saw Carmen Field merge several strands into one Spatial Ray with his own eyes, both the Spatial Bodies and the traces left on buildings showed rays remaining in the form of basic units, not maintaining the state they had when in Carmen Field’s fingers.
After multiple unsuccessful attempts, Xu Huo began to find it strange. He didn’t understand why Carmen Field adopted a one-to-five approach when connecting Spatial Rays to the Primeval Stone. The result showed no change in appearance after five rays merged into one, so why do it this way?
Could it be because the power connected to the Primeval Stone was insufficient, and only using five fingers was too little? Spatial Rays are not tangible things that can be grasped; a flick of the fingers can achieve hundreds, which should increase the odds, shouldn’t it?
Or perhaps it was unnecessary for him, with minor differences between two, three, and five. But since he started without using single rays, it indicates that connecting to the Primeval Stone requires this approach.
Primeval Stone... Xu Huo took out the "Angel’s Eye" from his backpack.
Similarly, when Carmen Field connected another Primeval Stone using Time Rays, it was also a five-in-one, though later the rays linked to the sky and dispersed, automatically splitting into countless strands.
Xu Huo deliberately walked a little farther to find a Time Ray. After examining it carefully, he looked away. To him, the Time Ray existing in this space is not much different from those within the Primeval Stone, yet he dared not touch it rashly to avoid irreparable consequences.
After killing using Time Rays, Carmen Field remarked, "Isn’t there a Dimension Space around here with less time flow?" Though it sounded a bit nonsensical, Xu Huo had just started to evolve, and his initial perception of Time Rays was still clear. Besides time being ungraspable, he also felt it penetrated space.
Previously, he struggled to understand what it meant for time to penetrate and transcend the spatial limitation. However, linking it with those words made him realize that time can indeed connect to other spaces and even transcend dimensions, unlike Spatial Power, which is relatively closed.
A space, like a zone, has consistent internal Spatial Power. Be it a Super Evolver or props instruments, unless thoroughly destroyed or forcibly opened pathways to other zones, the space’s power remains stable and unbreakable. Like this Chaotic Space, it intersects with Zone 014 with a common path, yet the outside Spatial Rays are entirely different. This difference is one reason Xu Huo felt heavy upon entering because controlling Spatial Rays became more strenuous for him.
But Time Rays are different.
