Chapter 393 - 381 New Year’s Eve

Chapter 393: Chapter 381 New Year’s Eve

Chunlu heard Fengyu’s soft moans and was startled. Although she and Qiuxiang were unmarried maidens, ever since Fengyu and Xie Xun got engaged, they had gained some worldly experience. Blushing furiously, they turned away, only to turn back and cough heavily twice, trying to remind Xie Xun and Fengyu that they were not married yet!

No fooling around!

The cabin fell silent. Fengyu gritted her teeth tightly, her face flushed like a ripe peach, sweat dampening her temples. She tried to push Xie Xun’s shoulders away, but she couldn’t budge him.

"Ah..." The overly intimate touch made her cry out, though she stifled the sound, scared Chunlu might hear.

Fengyu was bullied until she burst into tears.

Chunlu sighed helplessly, thinking, forget it, there’s no stopping the Prince anyway. All she could hope was that the girl would stay resolute and not lose herself in confusion.

Fengyu showed no resolve at all, coaxed and teased repeatedly by Xie Xun. In the end, she bit her lip, hiding herself under the quilt, refusing to face anyone. It was truly shameful.

"Alright, I’ll stop. Don’t cry. Let me see..." Xie Xun pulled her out of hiding. The Third Miss’s hair was disheveled, her forehead slick with sweat, her petite nose red, her eyes moist, full of hesitation. She looked utterly bullied, making Xie Xun want to torment her again. Beneath the embroidered quilt, her collarbones and shoulders bore the marks of his biting.

Xie Xun looked at those red marks and rubbed them gently with his fingertip. Fengyu reddened all over from his touch, and Xie Xun leaned down and kissed her again. "I did go too far."

The apology was utterly insincere, even a little smug.

Fengyu was both angry and embarrassed, urging him to leave, "Go back to your cabin!"

"I’ll spend the night here with you."

"No!" Fengyu was frightened by Xie Xun’s earlier frenzy and dared not share a bed with him. But Xie Xun had already slipped in, pulling her into his arms. They had just been in a mess—Xie Xun’s clothes were still disheveled—and when Fengyu was held close, their skin touched, causing her face to burn so hot it could explode. She struggled as Xie Xun ordered, "Don’t move!"

A misfire might occur if the gun was cleaned recklessly.

Being an engaged couple whose hearts were connected, lonely man and woman sharing a room was like dry wood catching fire. Xie Xun exerted all his life’s restraint, hugging Fengyu from behind as he rasped, "I’ll just hold you and do nothing else."

"You..." Fengyu wanted to turn her head and bite him. "Take your hand away and then speak. I don’t trust you at all!"

"Liar, you said the same thing earlier," she accused.

Xie Xun chuckled, finding it amusing to see the Third Miss so flustered and exasperated after such a long while.

"Then what did I do?"

Fengyu, teased to the point of blushing furiously, chose to ignore him entirely. But Xie Xun’s hand on her waist was unbearably improper, its presence overwhelmingly obvious, and it began to explore further downward.

Fengyu panicked and squirmed, twisting her body to face him. Xie Xun raised a brow; the darkness of night fueled unbridled desires, hidden within his deep and unreadable eyes. Fengyu’s heart raced as she met his gaze. Xie Xun had a pair of captivating peach blossom eyes, and when he looked at someone intently, it was easy for them to fall for him. Fengyu reached out to cover his eyes.

"You’re not allowed to look at me!"

"Happy New Year’s Eve, Ayu," Xie Xun murmured gently, pulling her hand away and giving her nose a playful squeeze. "Quickly grow up."

"You... Are you mocking me?" Fengyu questioned.

"?" Xie Xun laughed, embracing her again with a mischievous grin. "Why don’t you try again and truly feel whether I’m mocking or satisfied?"

"... Shameless!" Fengyu muttered under her breath. Completely worn out, she felt drowsy. She had been weak after recovering from illness, and their playful arguments dragged on until past midnight, leaving her utterly exhausted.

Xie Xun couldn’t bear to tease her anymore either. Fengyu, half-asleep and groggy, instinctively rolled into his arms, enjoying a night of dreamless sleep until dawn.

Their journey to Jiaozhou went remarkably smoothly. No one in the group fell ill on the way. Apart from Fengyu, only two others had previously suffered from the epidemic. Chunlu remained entirely healthy, strong as ever. By the time they arrived in Jiaozhou, it was already the third day of the lunar new year. Outside Jiaozhou City’s gates stretched a sea of tents, the city gates firmly shut.

Xu Zhou and Feiying led thousands of Iron Cavalry troops outside the city to assist disaster victims, while General Chen Qiao was stationed within the city. Supporting one another, the entire Jiaozhou area was under the control of the Ningzhou Iron Cavalry. Affairs ran smoothly under Xue Yu’s oversight.

"Prince!" Xu Zhou and Feiying, seeing Xie Xun, were overwhelmed with joy and hurriedly knelt. General Xu Zhou, upon seeing his well and unharmed state, was overjoyed. "The Prince and the young lady have suffered greatly."
