Chapter 125: Raven and Isabella

Chapter 125: Raven and Isabella

~THIRD PERSON POV~

Isabella was humiliated at dinner. Nothing went as planned. Her father had promised her the alpha king would be paying attention to her. But then she showed up. Looking like, like royalty, nothing like how she looked wearing whatever scraps of a bed sheet she found. That wolfless freak was dressed well above her station. Isabella couldn’t smell her wolf. Everyone had become tightlipped all of a sudden when she asked around. This rat dog went from being the kings pet, to being the kings guest?

She couldn’t believe it. What dark magic could this witch use on her alpha to make him act so strange.

She knew one person who would have answers and would give them to her.

She searched high and low trying to find her.

"Raven!" Isabella shouted. From across the hall.

Raven jerked her head, at first surprised her name would be yelled by anyone like that and instantly her face soured when she saw who the voice came from.

Lady Isabella Morrison.

Followed by her little spy, but Raven couldn’t remember the girls name.

"Lady Isabella, how can I be of assist... woah..." Raven’s arm was jerked as she was dragged away by Isabella.

"Come with me."

Raven frowned and jerked her arm back.

"Don’t you dare grab me like that again, keep your hands off me." Raven snarled.

"Quit acting like you’re going to bite; I want to talk." Isabella said sternly.

"What could you and I ever have to possibly talk about?" Raven rolled her eyes, already annoyed by prissy Isabella’s demanding behavior. She didn’t have a wolf strong enough to command the respect she thought she was entitled too.

"I want your help, and you could use mine." Isabella’s voice was dripping with menace.

"Help me? You’re delirious, get out of here."

"Guess you changed your mind about the king’s pet, or should I say guest. Well, that’s just too bad." She made the snide remark before turning around and starting to walk away. The click of heels echoed in the hall.

Raven stopped and pondered for a moment. ’My enemy’s enemy, is my friend.’

She’d been having conflicting feelings about Odette lately. But she knew one thing. Odette didn’t belong here. She was dangerous, not just because of who her parents are, or because of what they’d done so far; but because of what she’s seen Odette be capable of.

"Fine, let’s talk. Follow me to my room." Raven turned and continued walking and Isabella followed already plotting. How to get rid of the white haired brat and use Raven as the scapegoat.

Two girls, one attack.

She prided herself on being so witty and clever.

Not realizing Raven was thinking the exact same thing.

But Raven had insider information. She was one step ahead of Lady Isabella.

When the two women arrived in the Raven’s room.

Isabella looked around Raven’s room. Which was decorated in purple and black. The furniture black but the curtains, bedding, and rug was a deep tanzanite purple. The lighting was purple and florescent and gave the room a ghostly look to it. It was very much a perfect reflection of Raven’s aesthetic, dark and mysterious.

"Your room is so... I don’t ’Raven’ like." Isabella didn’t sound like she was insulting Raven, but it definitely wasn’t a compliment.

"Yes, it is my room, I hope it looks me like." Raven sounded sarcastic. Isabella ignored it.

"What’s your plan for the brat?" Raven asked. Curious what this airhead was cooking up in her pretty little head.

"There’s two Alpha’s in the castle visiting. If we can put them and his little obsession in the same room and make it look like they were hooking up. He’d kick her out. I’ve made friends with one of the alpha’s, he’s very interested in the girl." Isabella suggested.

Raven recalled the last time something like that happened.

Fear flashed for a moment in Raven’s eyes.

No not again.

"That won’t work. I already tried that. You don’t understand how powerful that girl is." Raven hated Odette, but she heard about what she did at the ColdMoon Pack. Almost everyone heard of the strange white haired girl swooping in and single handedly take out dozens of rogues and took arrows for a little girl.

Even Raven had to applaud that. She knew how much Odette despised wolf shifters, so the fact she didn’t use the chaos to escape but defended them. She had a little more respect. Though she’d never admit it.

Isabella looked at Raven confused. "What do you mean powerful? She has no wolf?"

Raven busted out laughing. She doubled over, clutching her stomach as the sound of laughter poured out of her.

"Oh man, you don’t know do you? Oh, that’s just rich. You think she’s a wolfless shifter. Oh girl. You couldn’t be more wrong."

"What is she some sort of witch or something?" Isabella was being snippy now, feeling humiliated by Raven.

"Not even close. Look, I can’t say. No one who knows anything will say. But I will warn you. Ambrose doesn’t play around with betrayal. Remember that." Raven walked closer to her the room growing colder with each step.

Raven stood in inches from Isabella, who’s palms began sweating from nerves, "And one last thing. That wolfless girl has the kind of power your father would cry in fear and beg in jealousy for. That girl. She’s dangerous and she doesn’t belong here."

Isabella was shaking a little, not just from Raven’s intensity, but from her words. She knew about Raven’s strengths; knew she was a strong wolf. Knew she was a fierce fighter. So, for her to say that about anyone, that meant something.

She turned away, bit her lip and swallowed hard.

She was determined to get that girl out of the picture one way or another. And no one was going to stop her.

"I’m still going through with it, with or without you, just keep your mouth shut." Isabella turned and stomped out the door like a child throwing a tantrum.

Raven shook her head "That girl is about to really regret her decision."

Raven was undecided on whether to help, or keep it a secret and see how far she got.
