TL: Etude
Ye Tian did not need to master the Blackwind Domain Technique within the inheritance site, as it would take a long time to cultivate. He could slowly work on it after leaving. Once he fully mastered the Blackwind Domain Technique, he would be eligible to become a Provisional Peak Lord using the Peak Lord Mandate.
At that point, the Peak Lord Mandate would completely merge with Ye Tian, and his authority within Blackwind Mountain would rise to the level of a Provisional Peak Lord.
Additionally, a Provisional Peak Lord could use the token to project their consciousness back into the inheritance site to obtain the benefits and inheritance that corresponded to their new status.
“Time to leave!”
Ye Tian activated his Peak Lord Mandate and exited the inheritance site.
As for True Monarch Dragon Sea, Ye Tian no longer concerned himself with him.
After all, if True Monarch Dragon Sea hadn’t mastered the sixth form of the Nine Soul Tempering Techniques, he was unlikely to leave the inheritance site anytime soon. He would most likely remain there indefinitely.
Ye Tian couldn’t afford to waste time waiting for True Monarch Dragon Sea, so he left him in the inheritance site of Blackwind Mountain.
Ye Tian wasn’t in a rush to cultivate the Blackwind Domain Technique either, knowing that there would be plenty of time in the future. Instead, he prioritized searching for treasures and opportunities. The battlefield ruins contained countless opportunities and treasures. Even a single True Ancestor’s corpse would yield an incredible harvest. If his luck truly exploded, and he found a Dao Ancestor’s corpse, it could mean acquiring the Dao Ancestor’s entire legacy.
Of course, he might only stumble upon a Dao Ancestor’s corpse that had already been stripped of its treasures.
Even without treasures, a Dao Ancestor’s corpse still held immense value.
The battlefield ruins were vast, but there were also numerous True Monarchs exploring them. As a result, Ye Tian encountered other True Monarchs from time to time.
However, since Ye Tian ranked first on the True Monarch Rankings, no one dared provoke him, allowing him to travel unchallenged without any significant trouble.
The ruins of the battlefield were littered with corpses, vividly reflecting the brutality of the ancient battle.
Over the span of several months, Ye Tian amassed a considerable amount of resources and treasures. He even found a few True Ancestor corpses, although only one of them had any storage treasures on it; the others carried nothing valuable.
In addition, Ye Tian collected a large quantity of weapon fragments. While individual fragments weren’t worth much, their combined value was substantial. Giving them to the human race would significantly bolster its foundation.
Still, Ye Tian felt it was a pity that he hadn’t discovered a truly exceptional treasure trove—specifically, anything related to the Dao Ancestor level of opportunity or treasure.
He heard rumors that some True Monarchs had found Dao Fields belonging to Dao Ancestors and even acquired their inheritances.
The rumors seemed credible, but Ye Tian couldn’t find any specific locations.
After all, opportunities at that level were never revealed easily. With hundreds of millions of True Monarchs swarming the battlefield ruins, only a handful—perhaps a few dozen—would have the luck to discover Dao Ancestor-level opportunities. The odds were simply too low.
Although Ye Tian felt lucky at times, he didn’t believe himself to be a Destined Son of Heaven who could stumble upon Dao Ancestor-level treasures so easily.
Moreover, since he had entered the battlefield ruins, the True Monarchs from the Void Sky Hall no longer shared information with him. If anyone found something valuable, they certainly wouldn’t disclose it to others.
Thus, Ye Tian had no choice but to rely on himself to seek opportunities.
…
One day, while flying through the ruins, Ye Tian suddenly sensed an intense burst of battle energy.
It wasn’t just one or two True Monarchs fighting—a group of True Monarchs were locked in combat!
“Let’s go take a look!”
He immediately sped toward the source of the commotion.
Ye Tian flew swiftly toward the battlefield and soon arrived at the scene of the fight.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Powerful True Monarchs clashed violently, their attacks shaking the surroundings. Nearby, a group of True Monarchs hid cautiously, all of them injured to varying degrees—yet not a single one was willing to leave.
The fact that they risked their lives to stay here clearly indicated the presence of a great opportunity.
Ye Tian’s gaze followed theirs to the source of their attention: a forbidden zone in the distance.
Within that zone, a spatial rift lay open, and beyond the rift was a medicine garden.
The garden was filled with divine herbs, each having grown for at least hundreds of millions of years, with some even reaching billions of years.
It was well known that many spirit herbs could not survive for hundreds of millions of years. Even with trillions of years of cultivation, they could only mature to a few tens of millions of years in age.
Yet, the herbs in this garden had grown for hundreds of millions to billions of years, indicating that they were not ordinary herbs but belonged to extremely rare and valuable varieties. Their worth was impossible to measure.
The value of a single divine herb of this caliber was enough to drive True Monarchs to kill for it. But here lay an entire garden of them. Whoever obtained this many divine herbs would no longer have to worry about cultivation resources. Even a weak True Monarch would have a chance to rise in the True Monarch Rankings, or even become a True Ancestor—perhaps advancing to mid-stage or even late-stage Grand Dao Realm.
This was why the True Monarchs fought so madly, each determined to claim the medicine garden for themselves.
“This is… a Dao Field!”
Ye Tian froze for a moment.
This medicine garden wasn’t a naturally formed one—it belonged to the Dao Field of a Dao Ancestor.
A Dao Field was a special cultivation space personally created by a Dao Ancestor. For a Dao Ancestor, it was akin to their home. For example, within the Void Sky Realm, the Dao Field of Dao Ancestor Void Sky existed.
Dao Ancestors placed great importance on their Dao Fields, fortifying them with powerful formations and restrictions that even Dao Ancestors of equal strength could not easily breach. Over countless years, each Dao Ancestor cultivated and nurtured their Dao Field, making their power within it far superior to what they could display outside.
No Dao Ancestor willingly fought another within their opponent’s Dao Field, as even a slight disadvantage could lead to a reversal defeat, or worse, death.
Each Dao Field was unique. Some were barren, filled only with endless formations and sparse structures. Others had fully developed ecosystems, resembling small worlds.
Some Dao Fields were like pastoral farms, with a single wooden hut and fields stretching like an idyllic paradise.
The Dao Field before Ye Tian had a medicine garden, where the Dao Ancestor had planted various rare herbs. After countless years, these herbs had grown into divine treasures that now spanned billions of years in age.
And this garden was likely just one corner of the Dao Field. Deeper within, there could be more treasures—or even the inheritance of the Dao Ancestor.
Under normal circumstances, even True Monarchs and True Ancestors would be unable to enter a fully intact Dao Field. However, this one had a tear in its barrier, providing an opening.
The value of this Dao Field was unimaginable.
Ye Tian couldn’t deny that he was extremely tempted—he yearned to claim this Dao Field for himself right then and there.
