Chapter 742: Chapter 740 Where I Go, She Goes
Su Wanyu was dumbfounded when she heard her cousin’s words.
She never imagined her cousin could adore her daughter so much!
But she understood her daughter, so she wasn’t worried at all.
Because her daughter, for their sake, wouldn’t even go to the Capital City, let alone Haicheng now because of what her cousin had said.
As expected, Jiang Mianmian shook her head without hesitation, “No, Auntie, I don’t want to go to Haicheng. I want to stay with my mom and dad.”
“Oh, Mianmian, you’re already a big girl now, you can’t be so clingy to your parents. When you have your winter or summer holidays, you can come back to spend time with them,” Su Wanting persuasively urged.
“No, I don’t want to go. I want to always stay by my parents’ side.” No matter what Su Wanting said, Jiang Mianmian refused with a resolute expression.
Jiang Changhai was touched to his core as he watched, his daughter was truly the sweetest little cotton-padded jacket in the world!
Su Wanyu was even more smug as she raised her eyebrows at her cousin, “Big sister, no use persuading anymore. My girl doesn’t want to go. You see, ever since she was little, she has never left me. Wherever I go, she follows. Now that she can’t bear to leave her mother, it’s only natural, not even if you talked till the flowers bloomed would it help.”
Su Wanting gave her smug cousin a sidelong glare, irritated.
“Alright, Wanting, it’s about time. Go pack your things; we have to leave soon,” Big Uncle Su said, feeling his daughter’s behavior was somewhat improper. He looked at the wall clock, saw that it was about time, and urged her on.
Jiang Changhai’s family escorted the Su family to the train station.
As Big Uncle Su looked at Jiang Changhai, he spoke earnestly, “Changhai, I’m entrusting Wanyu to you. You must take good care of her.”
“Uncle, don’t worry. I won’t let my woman suffer the slightest bit of hardship or injustice!” Jiang Changhai nodded with equal seriousness, as he always had done.
“Mianmian, are you really not going to Haicheng with your big aunt?” Su Wanting, finding some time, asked Jiang Mianmian again.
“Auntie, I’m really not going to study in Haicheng, but if there’s a chance in the future, I will visit you,” Jiang Mianmian sweetly said.
“Alright then, when you’re free, call your big aunt and your great uncle and great aunt, okay?” Su Wanting patted Jiang Mianmian’s head, sounding a bit reluctant.
“I will, Auntie. Have a safe trip,” Jiang Mianmian waved her hand.
It was only after the Su family had left that Jiang Changhai’s family walked back, hand in hand, to their own home.
Once home, Su Wanyu slumped onto the sofa, not wanting to move an inch.
“Brother Hai, let’s not cook tonight. Go get some takeout from the transport company’s canteen,” Su Wanyu, leaning on the sofa and hugging Jiang Changhai’s arm, said coquettishly.
“Sure, I’ve worn out my wife these past few days,” Jiang Changhai said sympathetically.
Su Wanyu had been cooking three meals a day while the Su family visited, and although the old lady helped, cooking in the kitchen during the scorching summer days was no easy task.
Moreover, with the old lady and her family there, she didn’t dare to suggest going out to eat.
Usually, when it was just their family of three, they ate out every few days.
Otherwise, Jiang Changhai would bring food home from the canteen. Su Wanyu hadn’t cooked so frequently in a long time, and now she was almost traumatized by it.
After dinner, Jiang Changhai, feeling sorry for his wife, volunteered to wash the dishes in the kitchen.
Su Wanyu sat on the sofa, happily munching on watermelon and watching TV dramas.
