Chapter 772: Chapter 770 Can’t Hide It from the Old Master
“Hey, Brother Yu, what are you doing?” Jiang Mianmian was grasped by Yu Cheng’s large hand, like a little chick that couldn’t resist.
“Just taking a stroll to relax properly,” Yu Cheng said and then led her around the yard twice before letting her go back to continue reading.
After that, Yu Cheng reminded her every hour to take a break. With the previous ‘lesson’ in mind, Jiang Mianmian obediently followed him for a walk.
As noon approached, Yu Cheng once again covered Jiang Mianmian’s book, “Alright, Little Lamb, it’s time for lunch. Come on, Brother Yu will take you out to eat.”
When Jiang Mianmian heard this, she looked up at the clock and realized she had been studying for such a long time. Indeed, time flies when you’re engrossed in studying. She patted her deflated stomach, “Okay, let’s go, Brother Yu, I’m hungry too.”
“You really get lost in your books. Come on, let’s go have lunch,” said Yu Cheng as he stood up and led her out for a meal.
After eating, Yu Cheng took Jiang Mianmian for another walk nearby.
The National Day holiday passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, Yu Cheng had to return to the Capital City.
As it happened, on the day Yu Cheng left, Jiang Changhai and Su Wanyu were almost done with their work, so the family of three saw him off in the jeep.
When Yu Cheng returned to the Capital City, the first thing he did was to look for books for Jiang Mianmian.
However, the solar energy materials that Jiang Mianmian wanted were too technical, and scientific texts like these weren’t easy to find. Eventually, he used some connections from his family to find the relevant information.
After he used his family’s connections, the elder learned about it pretty quickly.
Elder Yu, hearing that Yu Cheng was looking for books on solar energy, immediately thought that it must be for Jiang Mianmian, since not just anyone could move his grandson to action.
That evening, the elder returned from the command center and after dinner, he called Yu Cheng into his study to talk about it.
“Yu Cheng, those solar energy materials you were looking for, were they for that girl Mianmian?” Elder Yu inquired.
Yu Cheng wasn’t surprised at all that his grandfather knew what he had done. He knew he couldn’t hide it from the elder and hadn’t intended to.
He nodded and admitted, “Yes, grandfather, I went to see Mianmian over the National Day holiday. While we were eating at the Yangcheng City state-owned restaurant, we ran into a few of the Qi family’s younger generation. They spoke highly of America, and looked down on our Hua Country, saying our nation’s technology is backward and couldn’t possibly build a solar energy power station like the newly constructed one in America. Little Lamb got angry and her fighting spirit was kindled, so she also wants to contribute to our country by researching and developing a solar energy panel.”
“So that’s the case. Xiao Cheng, you don’t need to worry about the books anymore; your grandfather will take care of it.” Elder Yu was heartened that Jiang Mianmian had such pride and ambition, and he readily took the task upon himself.
On this matter, he wasn’t too excited.
Because the technology of solar energy power generation isn’t like the color battery and lithium battery technologies that many countries possess.
Currently, only two technologically advanced nations have developed this technology, and America had only achieved it recently. For Hua Country to develop it would be a difficult journey.
Yet, deep down, he still harbored a glimmer of hope. What if?
Plus, the young girl now had this determination and capability, so he, as her elder, naturally intended to support her wholeheartedly.
