Capítulo 763: Chapter 761: Too Shameful
Zhong Yuan walked shoulder to shoulder, following closely behind the two.
Although their parents had instructed them before going out that they should hold hands because the zoo was crowded and they should not get lost, as a boy, he found holding hands too embarrassing.
Zhong Yuan and Tian Wei were both visiting the zoo for the first time and found everything fascinating.
Whenever Tian Wei saw any animal, she would excitedly drag Jiang Mianmian’s hand and run over to take a closer look.
Zhong Yuan was also very excited; he and two of his friends stood outside the barrier, carefully observing the animals and occasionally sharing their impressions with each other.
Yu Cheng, on the other hand, was less enthusiastic; he had been taken to the zoo in Capital City several times by Cheng An and others, so he had already seen enough of these animals.
Jiang Mianmian was quite calm as well; in her previous life, she had visited zoos much larger than this one, with a greater variety of species.
Though she had seen all these animals before, she was still happy to come out and relax.
However, it had been a long time since she had seen so many animals; she just wasn’t as excited as Tian Wei and the others.
When they reached the area with the giant pandas, they also bought some ceramic giant pandas set up nearby as souvenirs.
“Wow, these giant pandas are so cute. I’m going to buy a few more to take back for my parents and grandparents as souvenirs,” said Jiang Mianmian, who hadn’t forgotten her family while enjoying herself.
After hearing this, Zhong Yuan and Tian Wei also joined in the fun, purchasing several souvenirs to take home as gifts.
The newly opened zoo in the city was not very large; they had finished touring in two or three hours, and it was just the right time for lunch.
Tian Wei: “I’m a bit hungry. Let’s go out to eat.”
Yu Cheng saw Jiang Mianmian also holding her stomach with a listless look and slightly nodded in agreement, “Mhm.”
The chauffeur was squatting by the car smoking when he saw them come out. He quickly extinguished his cigarette and jogged over to offer his services, “Yu Cheng, finished touring? Shall we go back?”
“Uncle, not yet. Let’s go find a place to eat first, and then we can go back after lunch,” Yu Cheng said indifferently.
“Sure, I’ll take you there. There’s a state-owned restaurant not far from here. Their dishes are exceptional,” said the chauffeur, giving a thumbs up.
“Alright, then let’s head to the one you mentioned,” Yu Cheng said, agreeing with the recommendation since the chauffeur so highly praised it.
“Let’s go, it’s just over there,” the chauffeur said, leading the way.
After walking for about five or six minutes, they arrived at the state-owned restaurant.
They had left early, and so there weren’t many people in the restaurant at this time.
After ordering a few dishes, they found a clean table and sat down to wait for the food.
While they were waiting for their order, a group of fashionably dressed young men and women wearing sunglasses walked in.
Each of them wore a wristwatch that looked very expensive at first glance.
As soon as they came in, they began to complain to their companions without regard for others, “This restaurant is so dirty, isn’t it? Small and dirty, and crowded. Compared to America, it’s far inferior. I don’t understand why the old man insists on coming back to suffer like this,” a tall and thin young man complained with a curled lip.
They spoke a mixture of Chinese and English, probably thinking that others couldn’t understand.
The woman wearing sunglasses felt that they had stood there for such a long time without being greeted, which she deemed as neglect, so she shouted arrogantly, “Where is the waiter? What are they doing? Haven’t they seen that so many of us have come in? Why aren’t they coming to serve us quickly?”
