Chapter 569: Chapter 569: No Secrets to Tell
The family sat on the sofa, watching the color TV Jiang Mianmian had just made.
“You know, this color TV really is so much better than the black and white ones. My daughter is practically a little scientist,” Su Wanyu said, growing happier as she watched.
“Haha, Mom, you’re exaggerating. The technology to make a color TV isn’t that difficult,” Jiang Mianmian said, a bit embarrassed by her mother’s praise.
The reason she was able to make the color television so smoothly was because of the “system,” a kind of golden finger, which she couldn’t mention to anyone else.

Since Jiang Mianmian had promised to make another color TV for Yu Cheng, they went to the steel mill early the next morning.
After a busy half day, when the two of them came back in the afternoon, they found their living room sofa filled with people.
There were also four or five neighbors sitting on stools or sofa armrests, all of them intently watching the color television.
It seemed that just like in Stone Bridge Village, there were no secrets in town either.
She had only brought the television home last night, and so many people already knew about it today.
“Mom, we’re back,” Jiang Mianmian called softly after entering the house.
Su Wanyu was busy entertaining guests at home and bringing things out of the kitchen. When she heard Jiang Mianmian, she looked over at the two of them and said, “Come inside now that you’re back.”
“Oh, the Little Genius is back. Come, come, hurry inside,” Grandma Li said, bouncing up from the couch as soon as she saw Jiang Mianmian. She rushed to the doorway, grabbed Jiang Mianmian by the shoulders, and enthusiastically dragged her inside.
“Grandma Li,” Jiang Mianmian greeted with a smile.
“Oh, Little Genius, I heard from your mom that you made this color TV?” Grandma Li asked, full of wonder.
“Yes, Mianmian, did you really make this color TV?” Wang Li’s Mother also asked, somewhat disbelieving.
The people inside the house, hearing their questions, all looked at Jiang Mianmian, waiting for her answer.
It wasn’t that they didn’t believe Su Wanyu; it was just that Jiang Mianmian was so young.
Color TVs hadn’t even been produced by factories yet, so how could a child under ten have managed to do it?!
“Yes, Aunt, Grandma Li, I made the TV,” Jiang Mianmian nodded.
The neighbors, hearing Jiang Mianmian’s confirmation, stared at her incredulously, and then, led by Grandma Li and Wang Li’s Mother, started to praise her.
“Mianmian, you really are so clever. At such a young age, you can make a television. When you get older, who knows what you’ll be capable of? Certainly, you’ll be able to invent even more amazing things,” they exclaimed.
“Yes, in the future, Mianmian will definitely do great things!”
…
And from those with lively minds, “Do you think the city might send reporters over for an interview now that Mianmian has made a color TV?”
“You never know!”
“Mianmian, if you get in the papers again, remember to call us too. Let us bask in a bit of your glory. Last time you were in the papers, it made our families so jealous,” they said.
Su Wanyu was grinning from ear to ear, but she humbly replied, “Oh, sisters-in-law and aunts, please stop flattering her. Mianmian is still young, who knows what the future holds.”
“Xiao Su, that’s too modest. A child who can make a color TV, how could she be ordinary?”
