Chapter 255: Kaiju
Ethan was surprised to see something like this existed here.
He looked at Dave and asked, "Where did this stone come from?"
Dave looked at the stone and said, "This stone was found under the Pacific Ocean in a ruined civilization."
"I want to buy this stone," Ethan said calmly.
Dave was surprised that a supernatural like him wanted to buy something from their shop.
"Sure. Take this as a token of my appreciation. You don’t have to pay."
Ethan wasn’t that dignified; he pocketed the stone instantly without showing any formality.
He bought this stone for his grandfather. His martial soul was a low quality one, that’s why he was stuck in the grandmaster realm.
Dave was speechless at his quick action. Then Ethan and Dave toured some other shops which belonged to other tycoons.
But he didn’t find anything useful. It was time for the meeting.
Ethan followed Dave inside the palace. There were a total of 1,000 seats at a long table and a grand throne at the end.
One by one, everyone took their place. Dave was here to represent his father. His father had gone to deal with something else.
"Hey Dave, where is your father?" an old man asked.
"Uncle Roger, my father has some urgent business, so I came here instead."
The old man narrowed his eyes. "More urgent than the annual meeting? I wonder what that might be."
He sat in his chair. A middle-aged man stood behind him.
Ethan scanned the man. He was a peak martial warrior—not very powerful, but enough for this level of occasion.
Then he saw many people enter the room one by one and sit in their named chairs.
Every person had a bodyguard, who was either a demon slayer or a cultivator.
Then he heard a mocking voice. "Yo, Dave. I see you are as poor as ever. Couldn’t even afford a cultivator and brought a demon slayer."
Ethan was wearing a demon slayer yukata, so it was easy to tell.
Ethan didn’t even look at him, but Dave retaliated, "That’s none of your business, asshole."
"Talk respectfully or I’ll have to ask Mr. Kane to teach you a lesson, punk."
This young man was Bob, who belonged to the best tech company in the world.
Dave didn’t back down. "You started first. So you should show respect if you want it from others."
But he didn’t curse him this time. He was also afraid that Bob might really take action, and he was not confident enough to think that the demon slayer he brought could defeat a cultivator.
Mr. Kane was a Level 1 Martial Master; that was the reason Bob was so smug. Normally affording and bringing a Martial Master was not easy.
Mr. Kane looked at everything with disdain, as if he were among crawling bugs.
The guard Uncle Roger had brought also bowed to Mr. Kane and greeted him.
Bob looked at Ethan and asked, "Shouldn’t you bow down when you see someone superior? Or the Demon Slayer Association didn’t teach you manners?"
Ethan suddenly vanished from his place and appeared before Bob, grabbed his neck, and lifted him into the air.
"You said something?" he asked calmly.
Bob was choking and screamed, "Save me, Mr. Kane."
Mr. Kane couldn’t react in time, but when he did he instantly roared, "Leave him this once and beg for mercy, otherwise even your entire Demon Slayer Association wouldn’t be able to save you."
But Ethan didn’t look at him.
Kane dashed toward Ethan and tried to make him release Bob, but to Mr. Kane’s utter astonishment he couldn’t even budge Ethan; it felt like he was pushing Mount Everest.
What the hell was going on? How was this possible?
This was Kane’s thought.
Then Ethan released Bob and said coldly, "Always choose your words carefully, brat; otherwise, how you die, you wouldn’t even know."
Then he looked at Kane.
Kane felt like someone caught his soul for a moment and then released it.
Cold sweat started to drip down his spine.
He didn’t dare to say anything.
"Who was this young man? Was he a Hashira? But why would a Hashira come here?"
Bob was half conscious from lack of oxygen.
Mr. Kane helped him recover quickly, but this caused trauma to Bob, that was for sure.
This small incident gave everyone an idea: the young man behind Dave was no normal demon slayer. He surely had some special identity.
Then suddenly a middle-aged man entered the room with two bodyguards. Both of them were Martial Grandmasters.
Everyone in the room stood up as soon as he entered. This was the uncrowned king of this world, Alexander Bellingham.
They were utterly astonished. They didn’t think that Alexander would attend this meeting personally.
Normally he would join with a 3D holograph.
Dave started to regret it now. His father wasn’t here today when the king personally attended the meeting.
Ethan scanned the man. He was a Martial Saint, but was concealing his presence.
So a Martial Saint was controlling the business of the mortal world—no wonder no one could compete against him in terms of business.
"Everyone, please sit down. Let’s begin our annual meeting."
Then he slowly went toward his grand throne and sat on it.
Soon everyone started proposing their ideas and projects.
Ethan was getting bored, but then the entire island started to shake, like an earthquake.
Ethan immediately scanned the underground of the island. From below it, a huge crack appeared.
From there a monstrous creature was emerging. It was at least 135 meters long, had a huge spiked tail and a spiked body.
It was coming to the surface and its target was probably the island.
The creature had strength similar to a Martial Emperor.
"What’s going on? An earthquake?" Everyone panicked. But Alexander’s face was grim for another reason. He also sensed the beast that was coming.
But he couldn’t take action; that would blow his cover.
A kaiju was coming, and there was no one on the island except him who could neutralize that thing.
