Chapter 244: Truth of the past
Ethan guessed his family had fled to Africa. But why would they do that?
He surrounded the submarine with his mental domain and began listening to their conversation.
"Father, do we really have to leave our home?" the little girl cried. She was around ten years old.
Albert said, "Erina, we are just temporarily leaving. We will soon take back our home."
Erina stopped crying and looked at her father. "Are you telling the truth?"
Albert bent down and stroked her little head. "Yes, my little princess."
Erina stopped crying completely. But Erina’s mother did not look happy; she gave her husband a look that said, Why are you giving her false hope?
Albert gave a reassuring look. "She needs hope right now, more than the truth. The entire bloodline of the Moriarty family depends on her."
Anna felt a pang in her heart. Erina was not the only child; they had a son too. The face of her son came to her mind.
"I am sorry, my child. Mamma could not protect you. Those monsters took everything from you and then they killed you. And we could do nothing about that. Hahaha. The great Moriarty family could not even protect their heir."
Anna started crying. Albert knew exactly why his wife was crying. He came to her and took her in his embrace with one hand. The other hand gripped so tightly that blood came from it.
The old man looked at his broken family. His once happy family was now in ruins. Only four of them remained.
He instantly began coughing blood, every pressure in his body straining.
Erina ran to him and asked worriedly, "Grandpa, are you all right?"
Earl looked at Erina and tried to smile. "Grandpa is fine, little doll. Just needs a little rest."
He went to his room.
Erina looked toward her parents. Her mother was still crying. She also knew why. It was her elder brother, Ethan Moriarty.
She did not know the details, but she knew, for some reason, her elder brother was gone and her mother could not accept that. Often she would cry like a madwoman.
She looked at the window of the submarine, from where marine life could be seen. "Brother, where are you? You were the supreme prodigy this planet ever saw. Where are you now? I really want to see you. Mother always cries, father often goes into silent mode. Grandpa’s health is getting worse day by day.
Are you really dead, brother? We need you, brother."
Tears began to fall from her eyes. She did not wipe them away. She let them flow.
She really wanted to see her elder brother one day. Maybe after dying.
Why would those people want to kill them? She had no answers and no one would tell her.
Ethan heard everything. So his family had not actually abandoned him. They had been forced to abandon him, and most likely to save his life they had done what was necessary.
That truck had been sent by the enemies of his family, the ones who had killed him and made him transmigrated into the that world.
Ethan really should thank that person who did that and he would soon meet with them.
They were actually Ethan’s true parents; the other parents were the parents of the body Ethan was residing in now, though the body and sould was already merged, still!
Now that Ethan knew the true reason, he forgave his family, and as soon as he did, he felt his karma connect with theirs.
It was the karma of bloodline. Ethan gave his permission to acknowledge this bloodline.
Ethan wanted to destroy those pesky ants, but he would not. He would train his little sister to get revenge on the enemy. He would be the eminence in the shadow. He would also bring his Alpha Omega team into this world. The world they were in was not enough to make them powerful, at least not as powerful as he wanted.
He would also bring his other parents and Rose here.
That could wait.
The submarine was heading toward southwest Africa.
It was now silent; they were all tired and probably asleep.
It was running on autopilot.
The night was over. Ethan looked at his panel.
[Master: Ethan Hunt
Physique: 10 Ancient Cosmos
Spirit: 10 Ancient Cosmos
Talent: Infinite Comprehension]
He liked to see his panel become more powerful each single day. It was the best feeling in the world.
The submarine entered the Namibian region. The vessel was high-tech, so it avoided detection by radars.
But Ethan gave them an extra layer of protection so that no one could find them.
Everyone in the submarine was awakened.
"Mother, have we arrived?"
"Yes, we have arrived. Let father carry you," Albert answered.
Then they came out of the submarine and entered Namibia. There was no one.
The four of them started to go deeper. Namibia was a very underpopulated country. Normal people did not have permission to see supernatural beings, but other supernaturals could detect one another because of the special clothes designed by the Earth Supernatural Federation, the ESF.
Any supernatural would have to go to the ESF and register. Then they would be given special built clothes. These clothes helped them avoid normal people and helped other supernaturals detect them.
This was a safety measure the ESF took to control them.
If any supernatural was found unregistered, the ESF would bring them in to register; if anyone refused, they would be killed instantly.
And the Moriarty family had exactly done that. They had taken off their clothes. Now the whole world was hunting them down.
Namibia had many wilderness areas. They planned to stay where no one could find them.
So they ran to the Kalahari Desert of Namibia. It was a savanna desert.
They planned to create an underground fortress there and live safely as long as they could. If Erina could reach adulthood by then, that would be the best outcome they could hope for.
Though Earl was wounded, he could still create an underground fortress. That would not be a problem for him.
After they created their underground home, they were about to enter, but then they saw someone approaching.
All of them felt a chill. Normal people should not be here now, Earl had scanned the area earlier.
But someone came anyway.
When they saw the person, they realized it was just a young boy. He was wounded all over his body.
He was walking so slowly. There was blood in different places. The wounds looked terrifying.
The boy came near them and collapsed. They watched him. This boy did not have the ESF clothes nor did he look powerful. A very ordinary person.
"Mother, what should we do with this man?" Erina asked.
Anna did not reply. For some reason her maternal instinct had fully activated. She felt she knew this boy but did not know how.
She looked at Albert and said, "Albert, I want to take care of this boy."
Albert had not seen this determined look on his wife for a long time.
"But—"
"No need to worry. You can always kill him if he turns out to be an enemy. Check his body for any hidden things or devices."
