After Liang Hongmei left, Lin Yuan pointed in the direction she went and asked, "Is your mom also here?"
"No, my mother-in-law’s house is next to ours. For convenience, we opened a back door in the wall at the back so both families can come and go easily," Han Yi laughed and quickly explained.
"That’s nice, Xiao Wan, you’re so lucky, living next to your parental home."
"We’re from the south. My brother is studying here, so my mom and I came along. We do some small business here, and it was a coincidence that there was a suitable house for sale."

When the water boiled, Han Yi made two cups of malted milk for the ladies, and he and Wang Yuan brewed some tea leaves.

But when she entered, the finished dog pelt hats and scarves were already sorted into several cloth bags, neatly placed in the corner. There were also some cut pieces yet to be sewn piled on the bed, along with many balls of yarn.
Lin Wan spread a piece of fabric in the corner, placing the cut material and balls of yarn on top.
Lin Yuan came in to help, "Are these...what you’re selling?"
"Yes, I make them myself and sell them outside."

"I come from the countryside, and I don’t have many connections here, so I can only do some small business to earn some money. Han Yi originally wanted to find me a job at a factory, but I don’t really like the nine-to-five job, nor do I want to just rely on his income to get by."
