Chapter 367 - 366: Lin Yuan’s Admiration

Chapter 367: Chapter 366: Lin Yuan’s Admiration

Liang Hongmei saw her daughter looking energetic and felt relieved, only to notice the presence of two strangers in the house.

"This..." She was slightly taken aback when she saw Lin Yuan.

"Mom, this is my comrade, Captain Wang Lianzhang. And this is his wife, they’re staying with us tonight," Han Yi quickly stepped forward to introduce them, "Wang Yuan, this is my mother-in-law."

"Hello, Auntie. Sorry for disturbing you tonight," Wang Yuan didn’t know that Han Yi’s mother-in-law was also staying here, and suddenly felt a bit uneasy.

Lin Yuan was the same, standing politely beside Wang Yuan with a smile, looking nothing like the person who had just been making a scene.

"Hello, hello... Xiao Yi, quickly take good care of your comrade. Mom has more dishes, and there’s plenty of meat. If you’re hungry tonight, go and get some." Liang Hongmei could see their uneasiness and quickly invited them in to sit, "Mom’s going to the backyard now. Have to get up early tomorrow."

"Mom, hurry up and go to sleep, we’ll take care of it ourselves," Lin Wan urged her mom to go to sleep.

"Alright... Oh, by the way, are there enough quilts? If not, I’ve got more, all new ones."

"Mom, I have enough here."

"Alright then, Captain Wang, make yourself at home, treat it as your own house. If you need anything, just talk to Xiao Yi and them."

"Thank you, Auntie. We will."

Liang Hongmei didn’t stay long and turned to leave, letting the young people have fun.

After Liang Hongmei left, Lin Yuan pointed in the direction she went and asked, "Is your mom also here?"

"No, my mother-in-law’s house is next to ours. For convenience, we opened a back door in the wall at the back so both families can come and go easily," Han Yi laughed and quickly explained.

"That’s nice, Xiao Wan, you’re so lucky, living next to your parental home."

"We’re from the south. My brother is studying here, so my mom and I came along. We do some small business here, and it was a coincidence that there was a suitable house for sale."

This, Lin Yuan had heard from Sun Yu, who said Lin Wan was a rural person. Didn’t expect she was a southerner as well. "You’ve come all the way from the south, can you really adapt to the weather here?"

Lin Wan just smiled at this question and didn’t reply.

When the water boiled, Han Yi made two cups of malted milk for the ladies, and he and Wang Yuan brewed some tea leaves.

While the water was still too hot, Lin Wan took the opportunity to tidy up the west room. When she left, there were piles of fabric, dog pelts, and cut fabric pieces all mixed up. But when she entered, the finished dog pelt hats and scarves were already sorted into several cloth bags, neatly placed in the corner. There were also some cut pieces yet to be sewn piled on the bed, along with many balls of yarn.

Lin Wan spread a piece of fabric in the corner, placing the cut material and balls of yarn on top.

Lin Yuan came in to help, "Are these...what you’re selling?"

"Yes, I make them myself and sell them outside."

"You’re really capable."

"I come from the countryside, and I don’t have many connections here, so I can only do some small business to earn some money. Han Yi originally wanted to find me a job at a factory, but I don’t really like the nine-to-five job, nor do I want to just rely on his income to get by."

"You’re quite different from what Sun Yu said."

"Sun Yu?" Lin Wan raised an eyebrow.

Lin Yuan nodded, "Yes, she told us quite a bit about you."

Lin Wan smiled, "Did she say a lot of unpleasant things?"

"How did you know?"

Lin Wan shook her head, "I don’t know either. She didn’t seem to like me from the first time we met. Maybe... it’s because I’m from the countryside, and... everything I wear, eat and live with is better than hers. She must be jealous." Lin Wan spoke with a slightly teasing tone, but everything she said was quite truthful.

"Probably," Lin Yuan laughed and nodded. Although they had only met for one night, Lin Wan was increasingly to her liking.
