Chapter 1972: Chapter 1972: Turning Hostile
Amon believed he understood Li Yao deeply enough, yet he found himself vexed beyond measure by the current situation.
For this body possession, he plotted for ages, collecting the finest things of this world, and bitterly crafted his escape plan over tens of thousands of years.
Just as the world was about to collapse and his plans seemed to succeed, this blunder occurred at the most critical juncture.
What baffled him even more was, despite the opponent not being strong, he possessed such advanced skills and techniques, and despite the opponent’s rank being negligible, his spiritual power was incredibly formidable.
The opponent’s spiritual power is vast like an ocean, making his own seem insignificant in comparison.
The two had almost simultaneously entered the ancient god’s brain, yet the opponent had already taken the dominant position before Amon could find his way, having already gained basic control over the body.
This left Amon in despair, considering the body was meant for her, she was familiar with it, and had a higher affinity; if not for the opponent’s overpowering spiritual strength, the victory should have been his.
He desperately charged, only to find even his own soul origin being absorbed.
“Monster, what kind of monster are you? You must be a deity from the primary plane. Yes, that’s it; otherwise, how could you possess such formidable Soul Power.”
Li Yao sneered, “You’re really quite foolish. When you broke the Array, you should have pressed your advantage rather than being scared witless by losing an arm. Without the Array’s augmentation, my strength is considerably reduced; that is true. Even my Mechanical Avatar can’t damage your golden body; that too is true. As for the supposed origin power severing your recovery, I completely made that up, yet you actually believed it, merely watched your arm get dismantled. More ridiculous is, upon facing your best chance, you lost your nerve and squandered it. Had you pursued victory then, none of this would exist now.”
“I hate you, with the deep fury spanning eternity, I’ve never quite hated someone like this. You’ve done it; you’ve truly enraged me.” Amon’s voice was piercing, seemingly heart-wrenching.
“Foolish waste; however much hate you gather, what could it possibly do to me?” With Li Yao’s words, the ancient god’s body began to float gently.
A few terrifyingly grand eyes fully opened, and a sense of extreme malevolence rose in everyone’s hearts. The terrifying eyes seemed capable of penetrating everything, imposing the feeling of public nudity and shame, as if revealing their deepest secrets in view, stirring a profound sense of disgrace.
Wild and overwhelming momentum began to surge, a thick black smoke enveloping the ancient god’s body, raising immense pressure within their minds.
“How is this possible, you’re still here, yet why have you completely mastered the body and even awakened such momentum?” Amon initially intended to struggle further, but upon encountering this, he immediately despaired.
“It’s the same old story; you’re too ignorant and foolish.” In reality, although the Touch of Darkness is still weak, its essence is far stronger than the ancient god’s body; in the Void World, a higher tier possesses absolute control over the lower tier.
Only at the ancient god’s level can one escape this restraint, avoiding the Void Lord’s control over life and death with a mere thought.
With a red glow, Amon’s soul embarrassingly fled from the ancient god’s brain, strands of black gas continued absorbing his soul.
Plop!
His soul fell into the Blood Pool, and amidst surging blood light, a terrifying monstrosity composed of countless blood and corpses scrambled out of the Blood Pool.
“Did you really think I didn’t have a backup plan? This is my world; I can control all native substances here. Thinking of seizing my body? It’s not that easy.”
Blood pillars soared to the sky, engulfing the entire city in a glow, trapping all Undead and player characters within.
Many crafty players, those adept at stealth, hadn’t rested with Li Yao, having long sneaked to the city’s outskirts, with some even having left the city.
But facing these columns, outside the city, the world shattered like a broken mirror.
Mountains outside collapsed into fragments akin to broken mirror pieces, and those players froze like sculptures, bodies disintegrating into numerous parts, bloodless, resembling truly shattered mirror fragments.
“Evil God, how dare you.”
“You truly dare to rip space; this accelerates the world’s doom.”
“Damn it, Evil God, you must be insane.”
The Kings rebuked furiously, as external entities perished with the collapsing space, unable to be saved.
Those players faced similar fates; if not for being players, their souls would be trapped in the space fragments and would vanish with further disintegration.
The spectators viewed the eerie, splendid scene, hearts uninspired, rather chilled, and as players inside the gates lamented, their fates akin to fellow players had they possessed stealth.
“I’m insane, indeed, I’m insane. This world existed for you because of me; furthermore, it had light because of me, yet you imprisoned my body. You all deserve death; breaking my future calls for all of you to perish with me. I’ll not only shatter here, but demolish every part of this world.”
Amon’s monstrous form of blood and corpses was horrifying, his spirit twisted without hope, as Void Power steadily altered his soul.
“Prairie Fire my friend, that evil body cannot be destroyed; in the outside it’ll be coveted by the Evil God. Even if you take it away, it’ll be harmful. Why not reseal it within our controlled pyramid?”
The Dance King and others, prepared to fight until the end, felt relieved and thrilled upon seeing the situation reversed.
“I’m afraid not; this body is my greatest gain so far, I can’t give it to you. Rest assured, however, I won’t retain its overwhelming Void origin, nor allow Amon to reclaim it,” Li Yao said apologetically.
The Salary King, shrouded in golden lightning, expressed, “Your true body is too weak; such talk should be avoided. We know far more about this Evil God, better seal it with us. You can’t handle it, and should have self-awareness.”
Li Yao’s face fell, “We’re mere acquaintances, unqualified to judge me. The ancient god’s body is in my hands; that’s the outcome. Perhaps accustomed to the title of Divine King, with no one defying you sharply, you truly view yourself as some grand Divine King. Yet, to the primary plane, even the main gods dare not claim such a title, prefaced by derision.”
