Chapter 368: Chapter 368: Lucas Morgan’s Confession 8

Pff!

Lucas Morgan almost spat out the soy milk he was drinking because of Isabella Gray’s words.

He grabbed a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth, "How could you have such an idea!"

As Lucas Morgan spoke, his gaze instinctively turned toward Chloe Grant.

But he just glanced for a moment before quickly looking away.

"Seeing Ralph Koch next to him, I just got this idea!" Isabella Gray frowned, "I always feel like there’s something off about this Ralph Koch!"

"So, you think those two are a couple?" Lucas Morgan found Isabella Gray’s notion utterly baffling.

"Didn’t I tell you before, he has someone he’s secretly in love with?" Lucas Morgan added.

What he didn’t say was that he never thought the person Matthew Morgan cherished was not some distant person, but Chloe Grant right beside him.

Lucas Morgan glanced at Chloe Grant again...

Unexpectedly, Chloe Grant happened to look at him at the same time... Their eyes met awkwardly.

Chloe Grant was quicker to react than Lucas Morgan and quickly lowered her head.

Lucas Morgan naturally withdrew his gaze and looked toward Isabella Gray, "Don’t overthink it. Matters of the heart can’t be forced, and they also depend on fate and feelings.

For all we know, my brother might meet someone he wants tomorrow, or it might take until next year."

"Yeah, don’t overthink it," Chloe Grant also comforted.

Will he... meet someone he wants?

Though Chloe Grant was smiling to reassure Isabella Gray, inside, she felt a tinge of bitterness because of Lucas Morgan’s words.

"Let’s hope so," Isabella Gray sighed.

After that, the three didn’t discuss the topic anymore and quietly ate their meal.

"I’m done eating, I’ll head back to school first," Chloe Grant was the first to finish, put down her chopsticks, wiped the corner of her mouth, and stood up.

Isabella Gray stood up as well and walked out of the restaurant with Chloe Grant.

Chloe Grant took her bag off the sofa.

"I’ll have the driver take you. What time do your classes end today? I’ll have the driver pick you up," Isabella Gray said.

"No need, I’ll just stay at school," Chloe Grant replied.

Upon hearing this, Isabella Gray’s expression immediately changed, "No way!"

"I said that you need to stay with the Morgan family for a while. You’re not allowed to stay at school until you’ve gained some weight back!"

"I’ll drive her to school and pick her up tonight," Lucas Morgan came out, casually putting on his jacket.

He said to Isabella Gray, "Don’t worry, if she doesn’t come home tonight, I’ll carry her back myself."

As Lucas Morgan spoke, he had already grabbed Chloe Grant’s wrist, leading her towards the door.

"Lucas Morgan, if you don’t bring her back, you don’t have to come back either!" Isabella Gray shouted from behind.

Lucas Morgan waved his hand without looking back.

...

On the way to dropping Chloe Grant off at school, neither of them spoke.

The atmosphere in the car was quiet, somewhat awkward.

When they were one red light away from Chloe Grant’s school, Lucas Morgan finally spoke, "Chloe... I don’t think making a mistake once means it’s forever wrong."

"Huh?"

Lucas Morgan’s sudden words caught Chloe Grant off guard. She looked at Lucas Morgan with a confused face, "What are you talking about?"

Lucas Morgan suddenly laughed. The light turned from red to yellow, and finally, green. He started the car and drove to the school gate.

"I said, I’ll come pick you up tonight. Even though you’re not legally part of the Morgan family anymore, family ties can’t just be ignored. Do you really want to be so heartless to my mom?"

"I didn’t mean to..."

It’s just that there’s always something a little odd about it in my heart.
