Chapter 356: Leaving for Home Once More

Chapter 356: Leaving for Home Once More

I also belatedly realise as I was making my way outside of the Sect palace that I had no place to stay the night.

It would be extremely simple and easy to just ask for a place to stay for the night, either here or in the Royal Palace.

But I didn’t really feel like doing so. Especially not this late at night, which was around like ten in the evening or something. I don’t know the exact time, I didn’t see a clock on the way out.

Still, I was curious as to what the city was like at night, as unlike Krara city, I would assume that this one is much more vibrant and lively now that it’s dark. Or I hope it is at least.

Slithering out of the palace, I saw the glistening night sky up above, and from afar, I could see the lights that littered the streets of the city just off in the distance.

"Ah, there you are. I was wondering when you’d come out." Someone called out to me, someone from the meeting.

One of the Nobles if I remember correctly. What were they doing here? And waiting for me no less.

"Uh, hi?" I responded awkwardly.

"Sorry if this comes off as a bit weird, but the Futaris asked me to bring you back to the Royal Palace once you were done. Provided you weren’t going to be staying here that is." The Noble woman bowed as she explained herself.

"Ah, okay then... I think I’ll take that offer then. I was kind of hoping to see the city a bit though." I expressed, a little sad that I couldn’t see the city. I could have, but it was getting late and I should go to sleep.

I also wanted to go home tomorrow. I had hoped to have left by today, but I suppose I can wait one more day.

"Oh, if you want to see the city this time of day, then the Royal Palace is actually the best place to view it from." It seems I will get what I want after all.

"Well, what are we waiting for?"

...

We were now headed towards the Royal Palace, and I was getting some stares due to the two souls that I was carrying behind me like clouds or something. Fortunately, nobody dared to come close to question me about it, not with the Noble woman escorting me at least.

When we arrived at the Royal Palace, we were let in without any hinderance and the lady took me straight up to where I assume the peak of that outer wall was on the upper floors.

Ascending a spiral ramp for several minutes, we did eventually make our way up there. And when we did, we headed straight for the balcony area, where the wall was.

And what a sight it was to be beholden to. The soft, warm orange light from the street lamps, reflecting off of the myriad of multicoloured rooftops shining back up at the sky.

Then, you had the skyline itself. From up here, you could see just about everything. Every constellation formed by all the stars shining so brightly.

I couldn’t contain my smile, mesmerised by the beauty of the view I was witnessing.

"Hmhm~" The Noble lady giggled at my reaction as she joined me in gazing out over the city. "It is an amazing sight to behold, isn’t it?"

"Yeah..." I replied absentmindedly.

"You know, I believe I had the same, if not a very similar reaction as yours when I first saw it for the first time." She reminisced.

I didn’t respond this time, too enchanted with the sights to respond.

The Noble lady chuckled once more as she joined my gaze outwards, "I get it. The view is unmatched anywhere else in the world, at least in my opinion. There may be other incredible sights, but to me, this one is the best."

"Yeah..." There weren’t enough words to truly put it into words how stunning this sight was before me.

"I think that’s enough gazing for today. We should head back inside now. I still need to show you your room after all."

"R-Right. Of course. Lead the way."

With that, I was led to my room, which was even more lavishly furnished than the one I woke up in inside the Sect’s temple back in Kinlo.

I thanked the Noble lady for her assistance. And just before she left, she told me that one of the maids would be here to wake me up at eight. I thanked her once more and went to sleep.

When morning came, I was awoken by a knocking at the door. Looking over at a large clock that was embedded into the wall, I could see that it was eight, just as the Noble lady had said.

Yawning as I sat up, I called for the maid to come in.

She opened the door and bowed, "Greetings, I am the maid that is assigned to serve you whilst you remain here."

"Thanks." Was my only response as I stretched after getting out of bed. "By the way, Is Trayzara available?"

"The Futaris? I believe she is currently preparing for a meeting with some court nobles, why? Is there something wrong?" The maid dutifully answered.

"No, it’s nothing. I just wanted to check up on her before I went back home."

"I see. If that’s all, I believe you should be able to see her before the meeting starts, though, we’d have leave now if that’s alright."

"That’s fine. Lead the way."

Within about ten minutes, I was taken to Trayzara’s private throne room. When we, or rather I, received permission to enter two servants came out and stood by.

"Sorry about that, they were just dressing me up for my court meeting soon. But you’re not here for that, are you?" She asked with a knowing smile.

"No, I’m just here to check up on you. Make sure that you’re feeling alright."

"Yes, I’m feeling fine. Why? Should something be wrong?"

"No, no. I assure you, it’s nothing to worry about. Just that Krytaraa seemed to have been affected by being in my presence. I was just making sure that you weren’t also affected."

Trayzara then looked and felt herself up and down before looking back at me. "I mean, I don’t feel any different."

"Good, just making sure. Didn’t want anything untoward to happen to you because of me."

"Thank you for your concern, but I’ll be fine. I’m the ruler of this kingdom, so something like that would hardly inconvenience me, whatever it is." Trayzara brushed it off.

And she did have a lot of experience behind her as the Futaris of the kingdom after all. A little lust would probably not be that hard to combat.

"Well, I’ll be heading back home now, so for now, this is goodbye."

"Oh, I didn’t realise that you’d be leaving so soon."

"I just want to go home and put this behind me as soon as possible. I know that until it’s over, I won’t be able to fully leave it behind, but I don’t like thinking about these things. I just... It hurts too much dwelling on it."

Trayzara sighed with a smile, "I know the feeling. You’re young as well, I don’t know how old, but I can feel it within. And because of that, you shouldn’t be having to deal with things like this at your age. So, I understand. Go live your life. If we need your help, we’ll send someone to ask."

I gave a light bow in response, "Thank you for your understanding."

And after thanking her, we said goodbye to one another and I left the Palace to go home. When I then realised, I don’t know how or where to go to do so.
