Chapter 523: Chapter 41 Radiant Secret Realm
The earliest records of the Radiant Secret Realm date back to the period of the Ancient Magic Empire.
At that time, the initial Spellcasters discovered its entrance, an unusual temporal-spatial region.
There, all the rules differed from the surface world; water flowed upwards toward the sky, light bent, and the void shimmered with specks of unknown radiance.
As people observed, they realized that the changes in this special area actually followed a certain pattern.
Over time, the radiance in the void would slowly rotate and converge inward, and when all the points of light reached a critical mass, it would open a void leading to the Radiant Secret Realm.
The interval between these convergences of light points was fifty years.
The Radiant Secret Realm harbored many mysteries; upon entering, Spellcasters would see a vast, seemingly boundless space.
It contained various styles of ancient architecture and the fluctuations of Magic Power ranged from First Rank to Ninth Rank. If you were strong enough and fortunate enough, unimaginable rewards could be yours.
Indeed, there have been multiple instances where Explorers fortuitously obtained Magic Artifacts of rank above the Ninth.
However, from the period of the Ancient Magic Empire to the present, human exploration of the Radiant Secret Realm remains severely limited.
Each opening of the Radiant Secret Realm could only accommodate a limited number of people, and due to conflicts with the Rule Power, those above Ninth Rank couldn’t pass through the realm’s gate, or else they would cause the gate to disintegrate into points of light.
Some had tried to map the Radiant Secret Realm, but found that each entry led to an entirely different area.
Each opening, the environment within the realm seemed to undergo a completely different transformation.
A Spellcaster, who refused to believe in fate, tried to explore the entirety of the Radiant Secret Realm over time.
But to his despair, he spent a full twelve hundred years exploring the Radiant Secret Realm, yet the maps he drew had not a single overlapping area.
Because of this unique characteristic, after thousands of years of exploration, many High Rank Spellcasters simply established a rule.
All families with Professionals above Seventh Rank could secure a certain number of entries to freely explore with their descendants.
With the development of the Ancient Magic Empire, the Radiant Secret Realm ultimately became an exclusive realm for the ruling class of the Empire, and this standard was subsequently raised several times.
As of now, the standard requires a family to either currently have or have previously had a Ninth Rank presence to secure a certain number of exploration entries.
This may seem excessively stringent, as even up to the present in the Magic World, only families of at least Marquis and above can possess Ninth Rank powerholders.
However, a key provision in the rules is also present: each entrant can choose to bring along some followers to enter with them.
The exploratory gains of these followers in the Radiant Secret Realm theoretically require a fifty percent submission of their total value to those who led them, but the final percentage of submission can be negotiated between the leaders and the followers beforehand.
In other words, these follower slots are meant for those who do not have ‘qualifications’ to explore internally, allowing those with qualifications to attract followers, and secure loyalty from potential underlings.
Depending on family strength, the total number of exploration slots and the number of companions vary.
The Empire Family has fifteen slots, each slot can bring an additional five people. Each of the Four Great Families possesses five slots, each slot allowing for an additional three individuals.
Nine Marquis each have two slots, which can each bring along two additional persons.
Families that once had a Ninth Rank but currently do not, can secure one exploration slot, but cannot bring any companions.
Theoretically, news of the opening of the Radiant Secret Realm should be given half a month in advance to allow them to coordinate with their subordinates and communicate with talented individuals without qualifications, to agree on a series of beneficial exchanges.
But for some unknown reason this year, the opening time of the Radiant Secret Realm was moved up by about half a month, significantly shortening their preparation time.
For example, at this moment, Duke Carrot has not yet notified his dependencies about the news of the Radiant Secret Realm,
Anvis was uncertain whether his family was unaware of this matter, or if they had received the news but were hesitating to let him participate.
Although Duke Carrot was somewhat aware of his true strength, in the eyes of the upper echelons of the other families, he was still seen as a lowly Fourth Rank Professional.
His family might decide to protect him, opting not to let him join this exploration of the Radiant Secret Realm.
The main force involved in exploring the Radiant Secret Realm typically possessed strengths ranging from Sixth to Eighth Rank. Of course, there were occasionally explorers with weaker powers.
Theoretically speaking, the strength of an explorer wasn’t necessarily linked to their gains; it depended more on the explorer’s personal choices and luck.
But stronger personal power meant more choices could be made, as well as better assurance that one could safely leave the Radiant Secret Realm with their discoveries intact.
After specifically leaving behind that piece of stone tablet, Prince Lanno exchanged a few more courtesies with Anvis before taking his leave.
Watching Lanno depart, Anvis put away the fragment of the tablet, and after some thought, activated the Demonized Crystal Ball used to contact Duke Carrot.
What Prince Lanno had given him was a special Mysterious Stone Tablet brought out from the Radiant Secret Realm.
This type of stone table is a mysterious product of the Radiant Secret Realm, when holders of different fragments of the same stone tablet enter the realm, the fragments make the holders appear in areas close to each other, serving as a sort of team formation item.
With this piece of the stone fragment, Anvis would appear in an area very close to Prince Lanno upon entering the Radiant Secret Realm.
“Anvis, is there something you need?”
After a moment, the imposing image of Duke Carrot appeared in the Crystal Ball.
“Father, I have received a secret message that the Radiant Secret Realm will open in five days; does the family also know of this?”
Gallantly bowing, Anvis smiled while gazing at Duke Carrot.
“Hmm… indeed, this is true.”
In the study lit by a Magic Crystal Chandelier, Duke Carrot laid down the document in his hand and gently rubbed his brow, confirming Anvis’ words.
“Originally, I was planning to discuss this matter with you tomorrow. Why, do you want to participate?”
“Yes, Father.”
Anvis nodded.
“…I thought, given your low-key nature, you wouldn’t want to participate in this exploration of the Radiant Secret Realm.”
A flash of surprise crossed the pale blue eyes of Duke Carrot as he glanced at Anvis.
“Very well, if that is your choice, you shall have a spot in this mission.
You have four days to choose three companions to accompany you. Remember, the slots for companions are precious; if you do not fill all three spots, the family can arrange them for you.”
After ending the communication with Duke Carrot, Anvis quietly sat in the guestroom, his expression serene.
To him, obtaining valuable finds in the Radiant Secret Realm largely depended on luck.
Anvis thought his own luck was decent, but not on the level of those deemed Children of Destiny.
What really attracted him to explore, however, was something deeper.
According to secrets revealed on past-life gamer forums, the true creator of the Radiant Secret Realm was actually the enigmatic Star Cluster Civilization!
