Chapter 918: Chapter 916: MAINLEY BANQUET 4 – A GOOD SISTER
"You really taught her well!" Tiana couldn’t help but applaud Diamond as she listened to Ruby’s philosophies.
Even those who were eavesdropping couldn’t help but feel amazed by what they were hearing. It was very brazen of Diamond to use that kind of approach.
Diamond shrugged with a smile as she looked at Tiana. She knew that these families’ politics were deep, and it wasn’t easy for any of them.
She hated their style, but what could be done?
Perhaps, she was lucky that she wasn’t born in a rich family where everyone was vying for inheritance. She just hoped that her future eight children wouldn’t act like hooligans for her money. In fact, rather than giving them her money, they might as well work hard like Ruby and earn theirs.
It wasn’t like she was going to die any second. Her life was very long, and no one, even her child, was allowed her usurp her throne.
"Just like Ruby said, as long as we communicate, then the first hurdle will be eradicated. Of course, it also depends on whether both parties are willing to listen and execute. Nowadays, other people just listen and throw away."
Tiana nodded heavily when she heard that. People are pretentious, but it was all for a reason.
"Have you ever been worried about whether Ruby wouldn’t listen?"
"Hehe, even if she doesn’t listen, that is on her. I am where I am today because of the experience I went through. If she wants to taste how bitter life is, then she is welcome. At the end of the day, it won’t be me suffering. She is a young adult and is responsible for what she does.
While pampering and spoiling are great. We should have drawbacks. Always remember that we can’t be with them forever. They will leave us for school vacations, marriage, and other things. When they are by themselves, are you sure that they can manage and live without being burdens?
At least that’s what I think when I coach her. As long as she can hold on when she is out there, then I can be at ease. I wouldn’t want to be worried about her for a single moment when all that could have been avoided, but if she can’t accept that and thinks otherwise. Then, perhaps letting her have a taste of bitterness would wake her up and make her aware of how good I was to do that."
Diamond always adhered to certain principles. She will never sugarcoat unless she is playing coy with her lovers.
For something serious, either you listen and accept or you ignore. Any consequences, that’s on you.
Ruby nodded as she listened to her sister, thinking to herself that she had learned something again.
Using what her sister was talking about it and then comparing it to some of her friends, it seems that she was on the right track. Perhaps, she could use her sister’s words to dissuade some of her friends, especially Cynthia. She was too relaxed with life.
Tiana held much respect for Diamond as she said all that. What Diamond could say and do in public was something that she couldn’t even do in private.
If she acts brazenly like that, it won’t be surprising if she wakes up to find her family cutting off her resources. That would be normal, and no one would stand up for her, including her parents. That’s how scary it was in families like hers.
Now she could see why Diamond wasn’t afraid of her grandfather. A person with principles, who could shake her?
Meanwhile, those listening had different thoughts. Most parents were touched by such words. After all, as parents, they worry about their children. They don’t want any harm befalling them, and yet they want them to prosper.
At times, they spoil their kids and, in the end, fail to put them back on the right track. Whenever they try to make them do something for their own good, they always complain and see them as villains. But what they don’t know is that, as parents, they just don’t want them to suffer in case something happens to their parents.
They have eaten a lot of salt and know how the world works. People respect you when you have a standing and foundation, but when everything crumbles, you won’t see anyone.
Unfortunately, unless they see it with their own eyes and suffer, they won’t believe it. And what truly hurts is how they would start blaming them once they are in such dire states. It would start being their fault for being too complacent and turning them into waste. Who wanted their children to be called that?
However, there were others who didn’t exactly agree with Diamond’s words.
"Umph! Talking all big when she is nothing but a whore!"
"I wonder why people always hype her. What’s so special about her?"
"If she dares, then let her reveal how she makes her money. She can’t be someone in the mafia and gangs, right?"
And the majority of these voices were the so-called wastes who had become so used to spending without moving an inch.
If their families adopt such an approach, then wouldn’t their happy days be over?
Unfortunately, Diamond didn’t care about people who didn’t concern her. She was simply sharing her own thoughts. As for whether they would be accepted or not, that wasn’t any of her concern.
The three of them talked merrily, and before they knew it, they were inside the main hall.
Tiana took it upon herself to introduce Diamond and Ruby to people of her age, and when they came across someone older, she would make the introductions as well.
Diamond also came across several of her customers, whom she was very happy to see. She introduced them to Ruby and even talked about when the beauty creams would be available.
She handled them well, with a smile on her face, and Ruby learnt some ropes while following Diamond.
Before Chairman Mainley came down, Diamond and Ruby finally met some familiar faces and were finally at ease.
’There you are!’
