Chapter 910: Chapter 908: UNTITLED

"Haha, let’s all smile. We will face the future when it comes!"

"That’s true. Let us just be happy and celebrate that the semester is over."

"I want to go home and rest."

"You are not alone!"

With the topic changed, everyone was laughing heartily.

While walking to their cars, it was inevitable that the group attracted a lot of attention. It wasn’t Ruby who was just famous, but there were several individuals who were strong contenders as well.

Earlier that year, in March, there was a beauty contest which was held for the freshmen. It was a voluntary kind of contest where anyone who thinks that she is suitable could join.

Ruby wasn’t interested in such a contest, but others were. The contest was held, and it was grand and very interesting.

Before it was held, she and the department star were in friction. It was just jealousy between the girls, and one of the issues she was forced to solve without including Diamond.

Through clashing every time, the two ended up becoming friends rather than enemies. Now they were very close.

And this friend, apparently was from a prestigious family in Frin City. Ruby was quite surprised when she learnt that her friend came from one of the top twenty rich families in the city but wasn’t shaken.

Her sister was the richest in the whole city and perhaps the whole country. Who knows?

Anyway, this friend, Cynthia, was very popular and tended to make heads turn wherever she went as well.

With two of them being popular, it was normal that they attracted other students’ attention.

And it so happens that the two of them drove expensive cars as well, unlike their other friends. Not that they were boasting, but that’s how it was.

Thankfully, everyone was close and didn’t speak ill of others behind their backs.

Ruby’s group of freshmen friends wasn’t that exaggeratedly big. There were seven of them, including her.

Among the seven of them, only four has cars but they didn’t mind sharing when it calls for it.

When they got to the parking lot, they allocated passengers before boarding the cars.

Once seated, the drivers didn’t waste time but drove away, leaving spectators wondering where this famous group was heading when they had just closed a moment ago.

"It’s good to be rich!"

"Hehe, are you envious?"

"A little, but I do get it."

The other students gossiped as they watched the convoy leave without hesitation, their real thoughts masked.

Meanwhile, on the road, the group of friends were heading towards this new restaurant which had opened recently. It was Cynthia who was being treated this time.

Ruby was by herself in her car without any passenger which gave her ample time to have fun or in her case, enjoy a good chat with someone.

[So, am I still taking you out for dinner?]

Ruby smiled helplessly as she listened to that, but the hue on her cheeks showed how happy she was at the moment.

"I was planning to eat with my sister tonight," she teasingly responded, curious to hear his response.

[You .... didn’t you promise me back then?] There was some slight grievance in his voice as he said that, and Ruby burst into hearty laughter.

Teasing Sean with her sister was always the funniest. She didn’t know what got into him lately, but ever since he learnt that she would be moving back with Diamond, he had been asking her out a lot lately.

It was as if he were afraid that she might not be able to hang out with him if she were with Diamond.

She didn’t correct him at all. After all, it was fun.

Not only was it fun, but it would keep Sean at bay and not dare to play his games. When a man is fearless, it might be difficult to deal with him.

Although she wasn’t certain if she could date Sean, she knew that she liked being around him.

Unless she was sure of her feelings, she would not date him. Thankfully, he already knew how she feels otherwise, she would be labeled as a scumbag.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand, Ruby didn’t continue to tease Sean. After all, she was approaching the restaurant.

"Fine, we will go for dinner. Are you happy?"

[Hehe, happy. Don’t worry. I won’t keep you for a long time. How about I pick you up around 4 pm? That way, we can finish early and you can go to your sister’s?]

Sean was very considerate, and she liked that about him.

Cherry Court was very faraway to be honest. It would take hours before anyone gets there. If she goes to dinner at the usual time, and then drive there. She would return very late and get an earful.

So, Sean’s arrangement was quite considerate.

She agreed to that and chatted a bit with Sean before finally hanging up as she took the turn to the parking lot.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Sean hangs up with a smile and raises his brows at Waylon, who was leaning against the car with his arms crossed.

"Are you trying to show off right now?" Waylon scoffed as he looked at Sean with disbelief upon seeing his eyebrow action.

Sean shrugged his shoulders, a smile on his face as he looked at his friend, who was luckier than he was.

To think that he was the first to pursue Ruby, spent more time with her longer and yet their relationship was still at the talking and teasing stage. While Waylon and Diamond seems to have moved past that.

Wasn’t his friend lucky?

Anyway, he would be a loser if he felt sour because of that. After all, everyone was different. He understood why he was still at that stage.

Ruby was still young, and it was normal that she might have reservations. As for Diamond, she was very bold. What could she say?

Waylon, upon seeing Sean’s smile, rolled his eyes at him before loosening his arms, saying, "Since you already made a date with your beloved. I believe that I can now go, right?"

Sean chuckled lightly when he heard that and asked teasingly, "Are you going to meet your beloved as well?"

Waylon snickered as he unlocked the car and answered, "My beloved is busy. Anyway, I will see her tomorrow. So not in a hurry!" boasting in his tone, which made Sean pout as he recalled how there was that banquet that they were invited to.

Seeing Sean’s sour face, Waylon felt much better.

How could it be easy to become his brother-in-law?

After seeing Sean flaunting his love with Ruby earlier when he couldn’t reach Diamond, he wanted to pour some cold water on Sean. Even if it was just for a moment. Surely, that worked very well.

After poking the hornets’ nest, Waylon wasn’t in the mood to entertain a man who was about to go on a date. So, he added, "Man, I am leaving. I need to meet my sister!" reminding Sean of his appointment.

When Sean heard that, he remembered that appointment. After all, Waylon had talked about it earlier when he and his friends came to pick Waylon up from school.

It was his last day, after all.

"Fine, you go. We can’t keep her waiting!" he shuddered, thinking about the famous sister, and Waylon chuckled when he saw Sean’s reaction.

After saying a few more lines to Sean, Waylon finally left under Sean’s depressed gaze.

He was still thinking about the banquet.

Would Ruby attend the banquet as well, or was only Diamond invited?

He wanted to see her and wanted her to see how the world was, but without an invitation to this particular banquet, he couldn’t force it.

If only the banquet were held by him, his family or by a friend. Unfortunately, this was an elder banquet. As the younger generation, he couldn’t interfere. Moreover, it wasn’t even his family’s banquet.

He couldn’t force it.

’I guess I will ask her later. I need to prepare. I can’t keep my lady waiting!’ he thought to himself, his slightly depressed expression softening as he thought of seeing Ruby.

With his mind made up, Sean boarded his car and smoothly drove away. His sports car was speeding away on the driveway.

Three hours later, Sean nervously alighted from his car, dressed neatly with a bouquet of flowers in hand.

He looked at the building in front of him and exhaled deeply before lifting his foot, heading towards the entrance with familiarity.

However, he was nervous as he made his way inside the building. Meeting with the residents, he exchanged some polite greetings before minding his own business.

The elevator was very fast. It didn’t take long before he was on the designated floor.

Walking towards that familiar door, he didn’t know if she was ready or not, but whatever state she would be in, he wouldn’t mind.

He loves her even if she is dressed in rags. She was that special in his heart.

With his long legs, he took large strides until he was standing in front of her door.
