Chapter 1827: Chapter 1830: Evelyn Bright is a lunatic, jealous of Lily
“We can’t let Ethan Wilson come alone. I’ve watched Evelyn Bright grow up, and she’s always seen Ethan as a thorn in her side. I’m afraid she’ll do something reckless towards him… Orlando Lucas, you go and lead Ethan here, bring more people. I’ll keep an eye here, I won’t let anything happen to my daughter-in-law and my grandson.”
Although his right leg wasn’t good, he still forced himself to hold on.
As long as he could hold on until Orlando brought Ethan over, it would at least be an account to Ethan, to Ethan’s mother, and to his deceased parents.
“Young master, I…” Orlando hesitated, he could almost hear the resolve in Theodore Lucas’s words to face death unflinchingly.
“Hurry, the longer you delay, the more dangerous it gets. Get to Ethan before the people Evelyn sent do!”
Theodore Lucas exerted his authority to press Orlando, who had no choice but to leave quickly.
After Orlando left, Theodore secretly observed outside the window.
…
“All set, just waiting for Aidan Lucas to walk into our trap.” Not long after, Robbie Bright returned as well.
Evelyn Lucas nodded, gesturing with her chin towards Lily and her son, “Dad, tie them up, make sure it’s tight, don’t let them escape.”
Lily protected Ben, “Just tie me up, he’s just a child, he won’t cause you any trouble.”
When she picked Ben up earlier, she saw the red marks on his little wrists.
Lily couldn’t bear to let Robbie Bright tie up Ben again.
Unfortunately…
“Lily Redington, you’re in our hands now, what makes you think you can negotiate with me.” Evelyn Lucas stepped forward, pinching Lily’s chin with her hand.
“Besides, your darling son did hit me earlier. Say he won’t cause trouble, huh, who knows if this little brat might suddenly go wild and bite someone!”
With that, Evelyn Lucas mercilessly reached out to pinch Ben’s face.
Lily narrowed her eyes, slapping her hand away.
“Evelyn Lucas, I’ll say it one more time! You can come at me, but don’t touch my son! All these contracts you’ve prepared are just for money. If anything happens to Ben, I guarantee you won’t get a penny!”
Ever since realizing she couldn’t contact the Reddington Security Centre, Lily had been quickly scanning the surroundings, looking for opportunities.
Several contracts were placed on the wooden table Evelyn leaned against, something Lily had already taken note of.
“Huh, indeed the eldest daughter of the Redington family, quite formidable.” Evelyn Lucas withdrew her hand, nodding noncommittally.
“Yes, I did prepare contracts for my cheap brother to sign. I can leave your son alone, but…”
Evelyn was cut short, suddenly raising her hand.
A ‘slap’ rang out, landing on Lily’s face.
“Haha, but I never said I wouldn’t touch you. Lily Redington, the eldest daughter of the Redington family, the lady of the Lucas house… hahaha… with all these lofty titles, you’re still getting slapped in the face by me here!”
Evelyn Lucas went berserk, crazily slapping Lily across the face.
Once, twice, thrice…
Countless times Ben tried to rush out, to push her away, but Lily held him tightly, pressing him firmly in her arms.
Getting hit didn’t matter, she just considered it as buying time.
As long as Evelyn Lucas diverted her focus and didn’t target Ben, Lily could endure any number of slaps.
Evelyn’s jealousy of Lily’s background, status, and position had long reached a fever pitch.
She envied her prominent lineage, envied her handsome and prestigious husband.
She envied Lily Redington for receiving endless love throughout her life, and for having a face as captivating as her own.
