Chapter 1778: Chapter 1781: Confrontation at the Press Conference (2)

“I can prove that Jeremy Cooper’s words are true.”

A figure suddenly emerged from behind the crowd of reporters.

He walked very slowly, with a deep and intense tone, as if desperately suppressing something.

From his physique, he appeared to be an adult male.

But his hunched posture and bowed head made him barely noticeable among the crowd.

He stepped forward, his head lowered, wearing a flat cap and dressed in a sportswear and jeans, making it hard to see his face clearly.

From his attire, however, he looked more like an ordinary paparazzi.

Tara Hammond noticed this with a flicker of doubt in her eyes.

She felt the more she looked at this person, the more familiar he seemed.

The other reporters didn’t think much of it, simply considering him a peer.

Thinking he had some exclusive information, they swiftly and gossipingly asked, “Hey hey, if you’ve got evidence, hurry and show us, we’re all waiting for the scoop!”

“Yeah, how can you prove Jeremy Cooper’s words are true? Did you also manage to capture evidence of Lady Hammond seducing Mr. Lucas and having an affair with Robbie Bright?”

“Please don’t spread rumors!” Tara Hammond feared the reporters would write recklessly, so she quickly clarified.

“I must state again, when I was with Mr. Lucas, he had already separated from his ex-wife. Also, I amicably parted with Mr. Lucas. I am in a proper relationship with Mr. Bright, so please don’t fabricate stories!”

“Fabricate stories?” The man wearing the flat cap suddenly let out a hoarse laugh from his throat.

“Tara Hammond, you knew Theodore Lucas before you were twenty, knew he was already engaged, yet you told him you were willing to be the woman behind him and wouldn’t damage his family. But on his wedding day, you suddenly attempted suicide with sleeping pills in the condominium. On the wedding night, Theodore Lucas left his legitimately wedded wife and went to the hospital to watch over you all night.”

“This matter enraged Mr. Lucas, and Theodore Lucas was locked up by the old man. You saw that Theodore Lucas hadn’t visited you for over a month, knew you were not fit for childbirth at that time, and feared being outdone by his wife. So you purposely arranged to get him drunk, then found another woman to have relations with him, acting as a surrogate for you.”

“After the child was born, you sent the child’s biological mother to the psychiatric hospital, torturing her alive for over twenty years. And then, using this child, you completely tied Theodore Lucas down, making him abandon his wife for you — something worse than a beast.”

“You’re talking nonsense, there’s nothing of the sort!” Tara Hammond’s voice instantly heightened after being exposed in public.

She’s sure this reporter must have been bribed by Jeremy Cooper, somehow finding out about her past to deliberately cause trouble.

“Which newspaper are you from? If you continue to talk without proof, be careful, I’ll sue you for slander!”

“Heh, I might not have evidence, but I myself am the best proof.” The man who had been bowing his head and hunching suddenly stood straight.

When he stabilized, even in the most ordinary and cheap sportswear, his tall and upright figure still emitted an invisible pressure.

“You… you are…” Tara Hammond’s face showed terror, her left eye exposed outside the bandage unwillingly widened.

“How could you… how dare you come here…”

Frank Chamberlain had pinned a corrupt label on Theodore Lucas, and once he appeared in public, the police might detain him and interrogate him.

What Tara Hammond didn’t expect was that in order to nail her down, Theodore Lucas was actually willing to make such a big sacrifice.

Theodore Lucas took off the flat cap, revealing his true face.

The moment he raised his face, not only did he shock the reporters present.

Even in the adjacent room, watching the press conference through the screen, Lily and Aidan Lucas couldn’t help but show surprise.
