Chapter 714: Chapter 319 Silver Island
After finishing the fighter jet business, the General Sect Leader drove to the Pike Company’s office building and entered the CEO’s private office to check on recent earnings through his computer.
There had already been a batch of electronic instruments, precious metals, and steel materials sold, in transactions with a military factory and a beverage company that had contracts with Pike Company.
Currently, the recycling and resale projects related to Pike Company were overseen by Jason and several sharp-minded Beggar Gang Disciples. They followed Reko and other old guys around every day to familiarize with trading patterns, discuss partnerships, and their work was quite systematic.
Apart from the revenue, Pike Company also had an extra expenditure recorded for payments made to Wally’s recycling station and other recycling stations handled by Alfred for cans; these recycling stations, although belonging to the General Sect Leader’s assets, also required payments during can recycling.
Anyway, it was just money shifting from one hand to another, and since can recycling doesn’t require tax payments, it makes bookkeeping easier. Dominic and other recycling station managers, along with outsourced transportation fleets, were also able to get a share of the profits from the cans.
The General Sect Leader didn’t plan to skimp or monopolize in this sector to disrupt the ecological balance below.
After leaving the office, he drove around to inspect various suburban construction sites, greeted the department heads and Beggar Gang Disciples, and inquired about their work, encouraging them to voice any demands.
The feedback he received was utterly satisfying. Full of happiness, the Beggar Gang had faith, and the employees were strong. The best days were still ahead!
After inspecting the Pike Factory and finding no issues, Allen Zhang drove back to the city, heading to Sunkist Bar to check the accounts.
There was a brand-new jeep parked outside; at first, the General Sect Leader was curious whose car was blocking the entrance, but later found out it was Mary’s.
“You bought a car? How much did you spend?” Allen Zhang asked Mary, surprised.
“$46999. I chose to pay in installments,” Mary said with a grin, “Thanks to you, I’ve made quite a bit of money recently. Big boss, I really don’t know how to thank you!”
“Don’t say that, you guys are the ones running the bar and handling the day-to-day, I just invested in the bar, and haven’t really done much else,” Allen Zhang waved it off.
Usually, besides coming here to check the accounts and drink, he really didn’t contribute much, only occasionally handling some alcohol-related tasks and activities.
If the General Sect Leader had any strength, it was because of all of you.
“Now you can do something.” Mary hinted at the General Sect Leader, closed the office door, and without a word, began unbuttoning her clothes.
Seeing that it was turning into a disadvantageous situation, the General Sect Leader sternly indicated refusal; he just had a storage depletion, and genuinely had nothing left!
Fortunately, Guise came to the scene in time to stop Mary, calling her out to work, and she gave up.
The General Sect Leader was also relieved that he dodged a bullet during his vulnerable moment.
By noon, Allen Zhang was resting at the bar, regaining his energy, and saw Old Jack swaggering into the bar to play cards with patrons. However, his luck seemed off; he had lost several games in a row, which was somewhat puzzling.
Finally, Old Jack walked to the bar, ordered a Brandy, and threw a dozen darts at the wall target, attempting to change his luck through metaphysical methods.
Allen Zhang also came out of his office, standing beside him, and watching him throw dart after dart barely missing the target, he couldn’t help but tease, “Have you weakened yourself recently? Your technique is so off, can’t hit one?”
“Why don’t you try?” Old Jack handed the darts to the General Sect Leader irritably.
Allen Zhang took them, casually threw at the target a few meters away, and with a smack, hit the bullseye.
Old Jack suddenly doubted life, “Did you embed magnets in this thing, or have you practiced in secret?”
Determined to disprove it, he inspected the darts and threw again, barely managing to stick one in the outer rim.
Old Jack was utterly speechless. As a ruffian, he was now being toyed with by a few darts.
“Pure luck! How could I possibly install magnets in these? They don’t make much money anyway,” Allen Zhang confidently declared, “It’s definitely because you’re getting old!”
“No way! I’m still fit!” Old Jack immediately retorted, unaccepting of defeat.
“How have you been lately?”
Allen Zhang didn’t bother to argue further, waved at a passing Bunny Girl to bring them two Red Bulls, and shared one with Old Jack.
Sticking to the principle of ‘it’s stupid not to take advantage of a good deal,’ Old Jack downed his Red Bull and stopped the Bunny Girl from leaving, ordering two more Brandies.
The Bunny Girl looked at him in surprise, glanced at the General Sect Leader, and after getting the boss’s approval, she walked away and soon returned with three glasses of Brandy.
Old Jack picked up a glass of Brandy and downed it in one gulp, then with a grimace, he took a deep breath, “Now this packs a punch!”
“Life’s just so-so, I don’t even want to go home now, every time I do, I end up arguing with my family, it’s really pointless,” Old Jack felt thoroughly disheartened.
