Chapter 723: Chapter 322: Staff Recruitment

Allen Zhang got off the plane and waved to the mercenaries at the airport, instructing, "Bring a car over."

The mercenaries immediately ran to the nearby warehouse and drove a military factory vehicle over, with Allen Zhang sitting in the front passenger seat.

He called for Bailey and Old Jack to get in the car and took them towards the port area.

Old Jack observed the island’s scenery; it wasn’t exactly "three steps one post, five steps one sentry," but there were checkpoints in every crucial area, staffed with professional armed mercenaries and even machine guns set up. This place looked less like a private island and more like a military base for detaining death row inmates!

He exclaimed in amazement, "This place is much better than Silver Island, and the island is so big? How did you acquire it? Must have cost a lot."

"This island is worth over three hundred million US dollars, but in actuality, I didn’t spend a single cent."

The General Sect Leader spread his hands and said in a Versailles-like manner, "As for how I got it, it’s because the former Island Master bit off more than he could chew, committed enough wrongdoings, and our people caught his trail, which made him abdicate willingly. He was also an investor in those Heaven’s Gate lunatics in the Qiliye Mountain Range."

"Is he dead?" Old Jack asked, surprised.

"No, he’s currently staying in Madison, enjoying a life of having everything handed to him. I wasn’t involved in any ill-treatment; we had no personal vendettas. I only provided some information to help," said Allen Zhang.

Old Jack didn’t inquire further; just thinking about it casually, it was clear that the man’s fate wouldn’t be good, and his wealth had been dismembered and shared by his enemies.

Arriving at the port area, they stopped the car along the roadside. Personnel from General Electric Boat Company also disembarked from the destroyer, landed on the island, and Allen Zhang went over to greet them.

"Hello, Mr. Jin, we have delivered this destroyer on time as per your order, and we have received confirmation of the final payment from our company. Our team has organized the relevant design blueprints and handed them over to your people, making it convenient for you to understand the structural circuits and replace components. If there are any other issues, feel free to reach out to our engineers directly, and we can provide onsite maintenance services at market rates," said the person from General Electric Boat Company warmly.

Allen Zhang looked at the many boxes of design blueprints being unloaded from the destroyer, at least twenty or so; though not as complex as an aircraft carrier, they were still very intricate. Just the precise blueprints and data models alone weighed nearly a ton!

Ordinary people, even if they bought it, would need professional engineers for maintenance and repairs, which would cost quite a bit. But fortunately, the General Sect Leader had reliable ground maintenance staff, so there was no worry in this regard.

"If we encounter any tough problems we can’t solve, I’ll reach out to you," Allen Zhang said smilingly, shaking hands. Seeing their group of about a dozen people, he asked, "Have you figured out your return plans?"

"We’ve already booked a sightseeing yacht from the Reyk Sea Yacht Company in advance; the yacht will pass through this route soon, with a delay of no more than twenty minutes before they arrive."

The engineer said, "When the ship arrives, we hope you can allow them to stop briefly at the island’s bay port for a few minutes to facilitate our boarding."

"Okay, that’s no issue," Allen Zhang nodded, knowing they had already arranged their way back, so he didn’t worry any longer.

He waved to call over a Beggar Gang Disciple, asking him to take them on a tour around the island.

He then went to greet Qibatu, who had around twenty to thirty new faces around him, all unfamiliar.

However, the General Sect Leader had already gleaned through intelligence about these people’s resumes; though not much was introduced, he was aware of their past occupations.

Though each had somewhat West Coast characteristics—fond of smoking, drinking, perming their hair, and ordering takeout— they were still fairly reliable.

A man’s not a man if he isn’t a bit lecherous.

A lover of beautiful men... that was also no problem. A true man should bravely face other men, one man on top of another.

The General Sect Leader didn’t care as long as they had skills.

Qibatu took the initiative to introduce his newly recruited personnel to the General Sect Leader, all of them ex-Navy, having served on warships, including important instructors who could help train professional navies.

"This is my friend Spike. He’s here because he got divorced after a cold war with his wife and needed to pay alimony and child support to his ex-wife and children; just in time, we were hiring, I got in touch with him, and he chose to come and join me."

Qibatu pointed at the slightly overweight man with a goatee next to him and said, "He previously served on the Spruance-class destroyer, and knows this destroyer better than I do, absolutely reliable!"

Allen Zhang looked at the teary-eyed Spike, who seemed like someone who had been deeply loved, and couldn’t help but take a deep, cold breath.

Overweight, goatee—a real stereotype from Sichuan, fitting the General Sect Leader’s stereotypical image of a homosexual.

"Working on the island, you don’t have to worry about compensation and salaries; I can assure substantial rewards for each of you. But due to the special geographical location, you would need to sign confidentiality agreements, and there will be few opportunities to go back within the year. Are you sure you can handle the isolation? Have your families been notified and given you the permission to join here?"
