Chapter 895: Chapter 870:
Ms. Yan quickly reassured him after finding out the situation in the Golden Triangle from Ye Chen’s mouth, "Don’t panic, Yao Yue might be alright. Since it’s a kind of autistci psychological disorder, you can wake her up by going there. Don’t be afraid!"
"Really?" Ye Chen asked anxiously.
"Yeah, I’ve studied psychology. Simply put, an autistic psychological disorder means staying asleep in a dream and not waking up; she must have been stimulated by something!" Ms. Yan quickly nodded, then said, "Go quickly, don’t waste time. The longer you delay, the harder it will be to wake the patient!"
"Alright!" Ye Chen nodded immediately. He packed his luggage and headed to the airport the same day, buying a ticket to Yangon, Myanmar. After more than ten hours on the plane, it finally landed in Yangon. Outside Yangon Airport, people arranged by Li Tieniu were already there to meet him. Southeast Asia and the Golden Triangle were Li Tieniu’s territory, and today’s Heavenly Reversal Gang is no longer what it used to be, now it has spread all over the world.
"Brother Chen!" A little brother with a cigarette in his mouth leaned against a black Mercedes, and upon seeing Ye Chen walk out, he hurriedly threw away the half stub of his cigarette and rushed towards Ye Chen, taking the suitcase from him and laughing, "Brother Chen, you’ve had a tiring journey, let me take you to relax and unwind!"
"There’s no need, take me to Luoyang City immediately!" Ye Chen said urgently.
"Huh? Go now?" The man was stunned, then added, "It’s already afternoon now, and if we head to Luoyang Prefecture, it will be deep night by the time we arrive!"
"I said to go, so go, stop dawdling!" Ye Chen glared at him irritably.
The little brother picked his nose and silently led the way in front, while Ye Chen climbed into the back seat. The little brother swiftly started the Mercedes, sprinting along Myanmar’s complex roads at high speed. Before long, they were on the highway, racing towards other cities from the expressway.
Along the way, the trees on both sides flashed past Ye Chen’s eyes continuously. Ye Chen closed his eyes to rest, and scenes of him and Yao Yue played like a movie in his mind.
Suddenly, Ye Chen deeply regretted not taking good care of Yao Yue, regretting not caring enough for her. All this time, Ye Chen had been busy with his own career, never truly caring for those women around him. Li Ruo, Zhang Yantong, Dian Ling, and Yao Yue - all the same.
"Sigh..." Ye Chen let out a long sigh, then turned to look out the window.
If only he could have taken good care of them and kept them by his side, maybe so many things wouldn’t have happened. Li Ruo wouldn’t have gone through that terrifying kidnapping, Dian Ling wouldn’t be so ravenous, Zhang Yantong wouldn’t have had to call pretending there’s something wrong out of longing for him, and Yao Yue wouldn’t have been bullied by others.
Thinking of this, Ye Chen was filled with self-blame, and it felt as if sharp needles were fiercely pricking his heart, each stab feeling like it made his chest bleed. Ye Chen lay back in the car seat, his nose feeling sore, before a hot tear rolled down from his eyes. These were tears of self-blame, tears of regret, and if Heaven were willing to give him another chance, Ye Chen would redo everything. He would rather have less wealth or power as long as he could travel the world with his women, forever happy and carefree, and that would be enough.
Therefore, Ye Chen secretly made a decision in his heart that once Sunset City was completed, he would bring all his women over and let them live carefree lives, recapturing the joy of childhood, never worrying about food and drink again.
Soon, Ye Chen closed his eyes and fell asleep. For over ten hours on the plane, he couldn’t sleep at all, worrying so much about Yao Yue, fearing that something might happen to her. The more than ten hours of worry and anxiety had left him physically and mentally exhausted, more so than dozens of military drills. So, he quickly succumbed to sleep in the car.
The little brother glanced at Ye Chen, sighed, and said, "Brother Chen is really exhausted! We haven’t even been on the road for half an hour, and I was hoping to chat with Brother Chen for these almost eight hours of the journey!"
Seeing that chatting was hopeless, the little brother could only speed up, pressing the car’s accelerator to a speed of 150 km/h; such a speed was not considered fast on the expressway.
The eight-hour journey got compressed to six hours, and the Mercedes arrived in Luoyang City two hours ahead of schedule. Upon arrival, the panicked eyes of the city’s residents revealed that a grand battle had taken place here a few days ago, leaving everyone with lingering fear.
"Brother Chen, we’re here!" The little brother quickly woke Ye Chen from beside him. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, Ye Chen’s eyes were bloodshot, but he had slept for more than five hours. His mental state greatly improved, though his eyes were still somewhat red from the fatigue that had vanished after getting off the plane.
In his sleep, Ye Chen had a terrifying dream. In the dream, he saw countless bloody scenes, surrounded by severed arms and heads. Even though Ye Chen had experienced countless battles, this still disturbed him, filling him with terror and shock.
After waking up, Ye Chen couldn’t understand what the dream meant. He wondered if the dream had anything significant to do with Yao Yue, but he quickly dismissed this thought from his mind because if something happened to Yao Yue, it would spell trouble for him.
Ye Chen immediately said, "To Luoyang Prefecture!"
"Alright!" The driver instantly nodded.
Upon arriving at Luoyang Prefecture, outside were two rows of armed soldiers on guard, their eyes sharp, watching the various passersby outside the Luoyang Prefecture, uncertain which were spies and which were local residents of Luoyang City.
"Halt!" The soldiers immediately shouted, "What’s your business?!"
"Ye Chen!" Ye Chen held the luggage, standing at the entrance with cold eyes.
"Ye Chen?! You’re Ye Chen!" The soldiers were stunned, and Ye Chen nodded, saying, "Yes, that’s me."
"Oh my God, quickly, quickly invite Mr. Ye in!" The soldiers hurriedly made way, allowing Ye Chen to pass through. He walked inside, feeling the weight with each step he took, seeing firsthand the savagery of the battle through the state of Luoyang Prefecture - damaged city walls, cratered ground from cannon shells, and dozens of injured people within the Prefecture due to lack of beds forced to make do with bamboo and wooden beds outside being tended to by doctors.
The lack of medical equipment led to many injured succumbing prematurely. Ye Chen quickly followed the lead guard inside.
For Ye Chen, the place was a familiar one, so he quickly made his way in. The lead guard cheerfully escorted Ye Chen to a door, then said, "Mr. Ye, here it is, I’ll go knock!"
Then the guard immediately knocked, and a woman in medical attire, in her forties with crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes betraying her age, emerged from the room. She glanced at the guard, asking, "What’s the matter?"
"Doctor Yang, Mr. Ye is here!" The soldier said hastily.
"Ye Chen is here?" Doctor Yang quickly raised her eyes to look at Ye Chen beside her, a gleeful surprise in her gaze, saying, "Oh my God, Mr. Ye, you’ve finally arrived, please, come in!"
Doctor Yang had met Ye Chen once before during his last visit. Ye Chen had no impression of her, but Doctor Yang remembered him vividly. She hurriedly led Ye Chen inside. The room’s temperature was comfortable, but there was an herbal scent permeating the air. In such a place where Western medicine was extremely scarce, Doctor Yang could only substitute with herbs for some critically lacking Western medicines.
At the bedside, Yao Yue lay quietly, dressed in a hospital gown, asleep like a sleeping princess, beautiful and enchanting. Her breathtaking beauty made Ye Chen’s heart ache; Heaven sculpted such a beautiful woman, but was it now going to take her away?
Ye Chen felt a suffocating pressure in his heart. Clenching his teeth, he slowly approached Yao Yue, sat by her bedside, and gently caressed her face, softly saying, "Little Yueyue, what’s wrong with you?"
Yao Yue lay quietly at the bedside, her brows furrowed. Her expression hinted that her dream must be filled with sorrow and a gruesome world. Gaze fixed upon Yao Yue, Ye Chen’s heart clenched with regret as if pierced sharply with a line of needles, each prick making him feel his heart bleed. Lying back on the car seat, a tear rolled down his stinged eyes, the product of self-blame and regret. If Heaven would grant him another chance, Ye Chen thought, he would start over. He’d rather not be overly wealthy or powerful if it meant he could travel the world with his women, forever happy and carefree, and that would be enough.
Thus, Ye Chen silently resolved in his heart that once Sunset City was completed, he would bring all his women there to live a life without worries, always happy and cheerful, reliving the joys of childhood without concern for daily needs like food and drink.
Very soon, Ye Chen closed his eyes and fell asleep. On the plane, for those ten-plus hours, he couldn’t sleep at all; he was exceedingly worried about Yao Yue and feared something bad might happen to her. The prolonged hours of concern and anxiety left him utterly drained, feeling more exhausted than after a grueling military drill. Thus, he fell into a deep sleep in the car.
The little brother glanced at Ye Chen, sighed, and remarked, "Brother Chen looks really tired! He’s only been here for less than half an hour, and I was hoping to chat with him during this almost eight-hour journey!"
Seeing that chatting was not an option, the little brother could only speed up the journey, stepping on the accelerator and accelerating the car’s speed to over 150 kilometers per hour. Such speed was indeed not very fast on the highway.
The eight-hour journey was shortened to six hours, and the Mercedes arrived in Luoyang City two hours earlier. Upon reaching Luoyang City, the panicked looks on the faces of the city’s inhabitants revealed that a grand battle had recently unfolded here, which left everyone with lingering fears.
"Brother Chen, we’ve arrived!" the little brother quickly awoke Ye Chen, who was sitting beside him. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, bloodshot from sleeping over five hours, Ye Chen felt much better, sweeping away the drowsiness he had felt upon getting off the plane. His eyes were just a bit red.
In his sleep, Ye Chen had a terrifying dream. In the dream, he saw countless scenes drenched in blood and surrounded by severed arms and heads. Despite experiencing countless battles before, even Ye Chen found the dream haunting, stunning him.
After waking up, Ye Chen couldn’t comprehend what the dream meant. He silently wondered if there was some significant connection between the dream and Yao Yue, but soon dismissed the thought as it would mean great trouble if anything happened to Yao Yue.
Without further ado, Ye Chen stated, "Let’s go to Luoyang Prefecture!"
"Right away!" The driver nodded immediately.
Once they reached Luoyang Prefecture, outside stood two rows of soldiers armed and on guard, their eyes sharp as they gazed at the diverse passersby outside the Prefecture’s gates. Who amongst these passersby was a spy or a resident of Luoyang City remained a mystery to everyone.
"Stop!" The soldier immediately shouted, "What are you here for?!"
"Ye Chen!" Ye Chen, holding his luggage, stood at the entrance with a cold gaze.
"Ye Chen?! Are you Ye Chen?!" The soldiers were startled, and Ye Chen nodded, saying, "Yes, it’s me."
"Oh my God, quickly, quickly let Mr. Ye in!" The soldiers quickly made way, ushering Ye Chen inside. Ye Chen then walked in, each step feeling unusually heavy, as the state of Luoyang Prefecture made every step ponderous; the conditions within reflected the aftermath of a recent ferocious battle that left everyone with lingering fears.
"Brother Chen, we’re here!" The little brother quickly roused Ye Chen from beside him. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, bloodshot after more than five hours of sleep, Ye Chen felt much better, having shed the fatigue from his flight. However, his eyes were slightly red.
In his dreams, Ye Chen experienced a terrifying nightmare. He saw countless scenes drenched in blood, surrounded by severed arms and heads. Despite having been through countless battles, Ye Chen found this frightening and shocking.
Upon waking, Ye Chen remained puzzled about the significance of such a dream. He wondered internally whether there was a crucial connection between the dream and Yao Yue. However, he quickly dismissed the thought because if anything happened to Yao Yue, he would be in trouble.
Ye Chen immediately said, "To Luoyang Prefecture!"
"Alright!" the driver nodded instantly.
At Luoyang Prefecture, outside were two rows of troops armed with weapons, their eyes sharp, surveying the various passersby outside, with uncertainty about who among them might be spies and who were residents of Luoyang City.
"Stop!" The soldiers immediately shouted, "What do you want?!"
"Ye Chen!" Ye Chen, holding his luggage, stood at the entrance with a cold expression.
"Ye Chen?! You’re Ye Chen!" the soldiers were taken aback, and Ye Chen nodded, saying, "That’s right, it’s me."
"Oh my God, quickly, quickly invite Mr. Ye inside!" The soldiers hurriedly made way, allowing Ye Chen to enter. He then walked in, and every step felt particularly heavy, as the situation inside Luoyang Prefecture, with its visible wounded and makeshift bamboo beds outside, bore witness to the fierce battle that recently took place.
Familiar with the place, Ye Chen effortlessly made his way inside. The lead guard led the way with ease, and soon they entered. From the room emerged a woman in her forties, wearing a doctor’s uniform, crow’s feet at her eyes hinting at her age. She glanced at the soldier and asked, "What’s going on?!"
"Doctor Yang, Mr. Ye is here!" the soldier said urgently.
"Ye Chen is here?" Doctor Yang quickly raised her eyes to look at Ye Chen beside her, showing gleeful surprise in her gaze, saying, "Oh my God, quickly, quickly come in, Mr. Ye!"
Doctor Yang had met Ye Chen once before, from a previous meeting. While Ye Chen had no particular memory of her, she seemed to have a vivid recollection of him. She quickly ushered Ye Chen inside. Inside the room, the temperature was just right, but an herbal scent permeated the air, filling in the absence of some Western medications she had to substitute with traditional herbal remedies.
On the bed, Yao Yue lay quietly, dressed in hospital attire, resembling a serene princess, beautiful and moving. He couldn’t help but feel a tinge of sadness seeing her there. It seemed unthinkable that Heaven would take away such a meticulously crafted beauty at this moment.
Ye Chen felt a crushing weight on his heart. With clenched teeth, he slowly approached Yao Yue, sat on the edge of her bed, and gently brushed her cheek with his hand. He whispered, "Yao Yue, I promise you, I will avenge you. No matter how formidable the enemy may be, even if I have to risk my entire fortune, I will make you the happiest woman in the world."
Ye Chen’s call seemed to have evoked some reaction in Yao Yue; tears welled up in her eyes. Seeing his call affect her, Ye Chen softly whispered, "Yao Yue, wake up. I want to take you on adventures, and never let you endure such suffering again. I want you to be the happiest woman in the world."
