Chapter 903: Chapter 877:

When Leader Ma and his men hurried to the scene, they happened to encounter Ye Chen and his team clearing the battlefield. All the guns and ammunition were taken away, the bodies were piled together, and the soldiers lying on the ground groaning were shot dead by people from Luoyang Prefecture.

Leader Ma finally believed it; those guys were indeed ruthless, sending over 2,000 men as cannon fodder without even equipping them properly. If those 2,000 men were equipped with US-made gear, they might have won this battle. But now, it seems like they’ve lost, and lost badly. Leader Ma looked up at the sky and sighed deeply, "Dammit, I’ve lost to myself!"

"Chief, should we attack? Maybe we can launch a successful surprise attack while they’re cleaning up the battlefield!" the guard quickly suggested.

"Let’s go, we lost!" Leader Ma hid not far away, glanced through a night-vision binocular, and said leisurely, "Even if the surprise attack succeeds, how long could we hold out? Those 2,000 people were beaten like this, we’ve lost!"

Leader Ma turned and left, his figure dejected. He couldn’t accept this reality, yet he had no choice but to accept it. Reality was bleak, the outcome so tragic. They came in high spirits, only to leave defeated.

Ye Chen stood up straight, looked at the troop moving in the darkness, and showed a strange smile, "Guo Decai, pick 800 elite soldiers and come with me!"

"Yes!" Guo Decai nodded immediately, picked a few squads casually, and then followed Ye Chen in a mad dash.

On the other side, a unit of 1,500 men was navigating through the jungle, led by Liu Bingbiao. The guards were grumbling, "Boss, why is that guy named Guo living it up while we’re stuck here feeding mosquitoes?"

"What do you know? It’s strategy!" Liu Bingbiao glared at them and said, "This is a strategy devised by Mr. Ye!"

"Again with Mr. Ye, he’s just the Chief’s little favorite. We respect the Chief, but we don’t respect that Ye Chen!" A few pampered soldiers roared angrily from the side.

"Shut up, I’ll deal with you later!" Liu Bingbiao glared at them.

Suddenly, a strange noise made them halt. Liu Bingbiao started and shouted urgently, "Quick, take cover, they’re coming!"

"Damn, they’re really coming? Mr. Ye is truly a divine man!" The soldiers all dashed into the bushes on either side of the path and hid. Soon, a startled unit, about four to five hundred men, fled towards them.

"Good, damn it, a fat sheep!" Liu Bingbiao grinned.

Subsequently, when about half the four or five hundred men had passed, Liu Bingbiao waved his hand, "Brothers, fire at will!"

Tatata...

The machine gun bullets rained down madly; the already panic-stricken unit, passing through the dark jungle path, suddenly faced this onslaught and panicked, splitting into two groups—one madly rushing forward, the other quickly retreating. Liu Bingbiao shouted, "Brothers, chase them this way!"

Over a thousand men chased the three hundred fleeing madly. The scene was both spectacular and comical.

"Oh my God, run, there’s a ghost!"

The soldiers, terrified, ran with all their might; none dared stay in place. They fled quickly forward. Liu Bingbiao led over a thousand men in a wild pursuit, causing a ruckus in the jungle, startling sleeping birds into soaring skyward.

"Damn it, how did it come to this!" The leading general was furious. A 2,000-man unit went out and ended up reduced to four or five hundred; now the unit was scattered, and those who fled probably wouldn’t return. The general gritted his teeth in fury, "Damn Luoyang Prefecture, I’ll be back someday!"

"Boss, not good, they’re catching up!" The soldiers were so frightened they nearly wet themselves.

"Damn, you take some men that way, and I’ll go this way!" Fearing capture, the general quickly detached himself from the unit, rushing into the darkness alone, while a guard led a group in another direction, soon caught by Liu Bingbiao’s men. Liu Bingbiao immediately captured all over two hundred of them.

"Boss, let’s just kill them, give us the credit!" The soldiers laughed.

"No way!" Liu Bingbiao immediately shook his head, saying, "We need to send these guys to the Wa State Tribe; Mr. Ye has other plans!"

"Alright!" The soldiers nodded understandingly; after all, Mr. Ye’s divine strategies were beyond their comprehension.

Back at the Wa State Tribe, Leader Ma returned with over five hundred men, dejected. Second Leader was lying on the windowsill watching, then threw a stone at the guard nearby, who quickly ran back into the room and asked, "Second Leader, what are your orders?"

"Why is the Great Leader returning already?" Second Leader asked curiously.

"Well... It’s said that Leader Qiu’s soldiers were all wiped out, while Luoyang Prefecture remains as impenetrable as ever!" The guard sighed and said, "It’s said the scene was quite magnificent at the time, with fire, siege engines...everything! Alas, we didn’t get to see it ourselves!"

"Hmph, if you took a look, you’d probably be lying there too!" The Second Leader glared at him impatiently and then said, "Alright, off you go!"

"Got it!" The guard hastily ran out.

"Hahaha..." After the guard left, the Second Leader immediately burst into laughter, feeling incredibly excited. The boss’s plan didn’t work, so he still had a role to play. Once Luoyang Prefecture was seized by the Great Leader, things might become difficult for him in the future. He lay excitedly at the bedside, relieved that Luoyang Prefecture hadn’t been taken by the Great Leader.

The return of the Great Leader filled the Wa State Tribe with anxiety.

Not long after the Great Leader returned, a surprise force of 800 troops suddenly descended and surrounded the Wa State Tribe. The guards at the door hurriedly closed the gate. Ye Chen stood at the main entrance of the Wa State Tribe and shouted aloud, "Listen up, people inside, drop your weapons and surrender, I’ll spare your lives!"

When the Chief learned that the Wa State Tribe was surrounded, he was terrified, but quickly calmed himself and asked, "Who are the people outside?"

"Big brother, it seems like people from Luoyang Prefecture!" the soldier hurriedly replied.

"Nonsense, I just got back, how could people from Luoyang Prefecture arrive before us!" the Great Leader said angrily.

"Big brother, it’s true, the person at the gate is Ye Chen himself!" the panic-stricken soldier responded.

"Damn it, come with me and see!" The Great Leader jumped up, not having even settled into his seat, and quickly strode out with over a dozen guards. Wa State Tribe’s recommended city gate was merely a very simple wall, enclosing a vast training ground. Several lookouts were built atop the roughly five-meter-high wall to prevent nighttime raids.

The Great Leader ascended the wall and surveyed the situation outside. Standing at a lookout post with a telescope in hand, he indeed saw Ye Chen jeering outside. He took a deep breath and said, "This isn’t good! That evil woman, Yao Yue, actually called Ye Chen over!"

"Big brother, what should we do?" the guard asked hastily.

"What can we do? We have no choice but to fight!" The Great Leader glared at the guard fiercely and said, "What, are you thinking of running away?"

"No, Great Leader!" The guard quickly lowered his head in fear.

"Hmph, they’re only eight hundred strong, what’s there to be afraid of!" The Great Leader disdained Ye Chen, then encouraged his soldiers, "Although our wall isn’t as solid as Luoyang Prefecture’s, it should take some time to breach it, right?"

However, what shocked the Great Leader lay in wait ahead. The soldiers had been confident they could hold half the territory with their sturdy wall. Soon, they realized they were wrong, and spectacularly so. Three colossal cannons were wheeled out, and the Great Leader was instantly stupefied. He stared in disbelief at the several cannons positioned in front of Ye Chen, terrified, and shouted, "Lao Er, you’ve doomed me!"

He shouted as he dashed madly down the wall.

Ye Chen strolled outside Wa State City with a cigarette in his mouth, waiting for another troop that was hurrying over. Liu Bingbiao led over a thousand people swiftly over two mountain tops, arriving at the designated location, out of breath.

"Mr. Ye, we’re here, we’re here!" Liu Bingbiao shouted.

"How did it go?" Ye Chen asked with a smile.

"No...no problem!" Liu Bingbiao grinned, "As expected, Mr. Ye is divine. We beat those guys half-dead and captured over 200 of them. These guys weren’t compliant, so I beat them hard before they agreed to move, costing us quite some time!"

"No worries, you’re here, that’s what matters!" Ye Chen said with a faint smile and then waved his hand, "Come, bring these people to the front lines!"

"Yes!" The soldiers swarmed forward, totaling 215 people. These people were pushed to the gate of Wa State City, and the soldiers standing on the wall curiously asked, "Are these people our brothers?"

"No, they’re not!" The leader immediately denied it, saying, "They’re from another armed force, they’re our allies!"

"Those beggars?!" The soldiers asked, puzzled.

"You could say that!" The leading team leader glanced at those people with a grin.

Leader Ma hurriedly rushed to the Second Leader’s room and shouted as he entered, "Lao Er, you’ve doomed me! You said the cannons were destroyed by the enemy, why do they have cannons?!"

"How could that be, our cannons were all destroyed by them, there can’t be any left!" The Second Leader was stunned, his face turning pale. If the opponents had captured their cannons, Wa State City’s walls could never withstand a cannon attack.
