Scarlett was still feigning illness on the soft Xi Mengsi bed, with the female officer beside her feeding her water.
Suddenly, a servant ran in, “Her Royal Highness, Her Royal Highness…”
Before Scarlett could speak, the female officer immediately understood what she meant, her face darkened and she scolded, “Why are you making such a fuss, can’t you see Her Highness is unwell?”
“It’s… it’s Prince William who has returned, he’s downstairs having coffee with Young Master Lie and wants Her Highness to come down.”
“What did you say? My daddy is back?” Scarlett’s expression changed, and a hint of panic flashed in her almond eyes.
“Yes, Prince William just returned to the country.” The servant, unaware of her panic, answered honestly.
Scarlett’s fingers involuntarily clenched the bed sheet beneath her, her eyes flickering wildly.
The female officer wasn’t much better off, her face equally pale, and the color from her lips faded significantly.
But Scarlett remained much more composed than the female officer, she slightly raised her chin at the servant’s bewildered look, “I understand. I’ll change clothes and come down. You may leave now.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The servant left.
The female officer immediately asked in a panic, “Princess, what should we do now? Young Master Lie must have told the Prince about the Abandoned Factory incident.”
Scarlett, of course, knew that Xi Zelie most likely tattled. She was already in a bad mood, and when the female officer mentioned it, she became even more irritable. She shot a glare at the female officer, snapped irritably, “So what if he told? We’ll just deny it.”
