Chapter 322 - 320: Seize the Ship and Escape

Chapter 322: Chapter 320: Seize the Ship and Escape

Qingyuan Town wasn’t exactly small. It harbored a population of thousands within its various establishments.

When Si Yuhuan sneaked in, he immediately drew sidelong glances from many people.

Song Xicheng had someone notify the local governor, and a specialist was soon dispatched to assist.

"President Song, if you have any orders, please feel free to tell me."

Song Xicheng stated his purpose, and the other party immediately sent people to conduct a thorough investigation.

Si Yuhuan was invited into the VIP reception room, sipping coffee while waiting for news.

"President Song, your influence is truly impressive. Once today’s matter is resolved, you must allow me to host you properly when you visit China."

A calculative glint shone in Song Xicheng’s peach blossom eyes. "That globally limited-edition diamond watch of yours..."

"It’s yours."

"Good, good, good."

A knock sounded from outside.

"President Song, there’s news."

Si Yuhuan immediately stood up and rushed over.

"How is it? Who are they? How many? Is there a newborn child?"

He fired off a series of questions, startling the man.

Song Xicheng knew he was anxious. "Answer quickly! What are you waiting for?"

"It was a man and a woman, and indeed, they had a newborn child. However, they are local residents. They had smuggled themselves over because they heard the obstetricians in Saint Seymour are highly skilled; they returned immediately after the birth. A DNA comparison confirmed they are the biological parents. It seems they aren’t the people you’re looking for."

"That’s absolutely impossible! Why would they arm themselves and surround the town?" Si Yuhuan demanded, grabbing the man’s collar.

"The other party also has a significant background; they’re from a prominent local family. In Q Country, gun ownership is a right granted to citizens for self-defense, so their actions aren’t unjustifiable."

Song Xicheng stepped forward and freed the man from Si Yuhuan’s grasp.

"Don’t be so quick to judge. Perhaps..."

"No! It’s a diversion!"

Si Yuhuan immediately ran back. While running, he ordered Song Xicheng’s men to continue the investigation, "Find everyone who has frequently traveled to and from Q Country, especially in the last three months. Investigate them all thoroughly!"

He suddenly stopped, his brain working at high speed. "Especially those who had never been to Q Country before but suddenly settled here—pay close attention to them! This person has a newborn baby boy with them."

Any trace of intoxication vanished from Song Xicheng instantly.

His friend is so anxious; something critical must have happened.

That boy, could he be his own flesh and blood?

Si Yuhuan was unwilling to disclose everything, but couldn’t I guess?

It must be so.

"Don’t worry. I’ll ensure our godson’s safety," Song Xicheng said, catching up to him.

「The ferry.」

Si Junyan clutched a black bag, his shifty eyes darting around nervously.

SNAP!

A large hand landed on his shoulder.

Si Junyan was about to lash out when the man sneered coldly, "Come here! Inspection!"

Si Junyan took a deep breath; his face, smeared with dirt, looked repulsive.

The inspector furrowed his brows, clearly annoyed. "What nationality are you?"

It was a routine check, filled with tedious procedures.

Si Junyan had come prepared, but the inspector’s persistence was wearing his patience thin.

Glancing at his wristwatch, he grew anxious and panicky.

Delays breed trouble. I wonder how things are being handled over there?

"Hey, I’m talking to you!" The inspector was on his twentieth question about exiting the country.

Si Junyan slammed his hands on the table, enraged. "How many more questions are there? Can’t you see the ship is about to depart?"

"Who do you think you’re talking to!" the inspector also fumed.

A woman beside him placed a hand on Si Junyan’s shoulder and calmly addressed the inspector, "Sir, please calm down."

The stunningly beautiful woman offered a seductive smile. Her skin was pale and luminous, complementing her blonde hair and blue eyes. Speaking a fluent foreign language, she conversed pleasantly with the inspector while discreetly slipping a piece of paper into his hand.

The inspector glanced at it: a check for five hundred thousand.

He gasped, his anger instantly extinguished.

"Don’t be angry. We all want to make our jobs easier. My friend was being unreasonable. Please, have some tea."

A cup of water was passed over.

The inspector continued to drone on, "It’s not that we want to inspect so thoroughly, but there are regulations from above. Entry and exit in Q Country are now under strict scrutiny. I won’t hold this against you, but the inspection must still be conducted."

"Go to hell, you motherf— AAAH!" Si Junyan roared, swinging a nearby ashtray and smashing it directly on the inspector’s head.

The woman was aghast. "What are you doing?"

"Are we supposed to wait for him to keep yapping endlessly?"

The woman sighed in resignation, drew a gun, and fired. The inspector dropped dead.

"Let’s go. It’s better to leave early than risk complications. It seems we can’t stay in Q Country any longer."

Amidst the ensuing panic, she smoothly leaped onto the ship, swiftly taking the captain hostage. Her movements were so fluid and fast that before anyone on board could react, they were subdued by the backup she had brought.

Si Junyan cursed under his breath and went into the inner cabin.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

He fired several shots into the air, and the people on the ship scrambled out.

Shouts, screams, and desperate pleas for mercy filled the air.

As the ship began to move, people tumbled into the sea.

The captain, a gun to his head, cried inconsolably. "So many people are going to die!"

The woman raised an eyebrow, an unhinged, cold laugh escaping her lips. "They chose this ship; it’s their own fault. If they’d just stayed put as hostages, there wouldn’t be a problem. But if they’re actively seeking death, I can’t help them."

The captain had no choice but to start the ship and prepare for departure.

The dock instantly became a living hell.

Countless people screamed for help, struggling in the deep water.

Meanwhile, Si Yuhuan received news: just as he’d predicted, someone fitting the description—having arrived in Q Country with a child despite never having been there before, settling upon arrival, and constantly moving with forged names and identities—was now at a nearby dock.

When they arrived, they saw a heart-stopping sight: out across the vast sea by the dock, passengers were continuously falling from the departing ferry.

"Quick, save them!"

Song Xicheng was stunned and immediately ordered his men to start rescuing people.

Suddenly, the person behind him leaped onto a jet ski.

"Si Yuhuan! What do you think you’re doing?!" Song Xicheng shouted in frustration. "They have guns and hostages! You’re injured! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"

Si Yuhuan let the seawater spray his face. He timed his approach perfectly and, with a swift move, leaped aboard the ferry.

The people on the ferry were already wailing. Some had fainted, while others desperately sought escape. Seeing the jet ski was like spotting a lifeline, and they all surged toward it.

"Don’t you move!"

Si Junyan had only a few men and limited ammunition. Not daring to commit a massacre, they could only watch as this death-defying crowd swarmed the jet ski.

...

Standing on deck, Si Junyan threw his head back and laughed maniacally.

"Si Yuhuan, you’ll never beat me! Just you wait! When I return, I’ll turn China upside down and trample all of you under my feet!"

The baby in his arms suddenly began to wail.

He was so irritated he wanted to strangle the child.

Damn brat, all he does is cry! If he weren’t still useful, I’d throw him into the sea right now.

"Boss, we have a problem! Someone’s boarded the ship!" one of his men reported.

Si Junyan roared, "What’s all the panic about?"
