Chapter 340: Chapter 338: Capturing Si Junyan
"Hahaha! Brother, your reaction is truly surprising! A cold-hearted tycoon actually caring about a woman you once despised? Interesting, very interesting!"
His sinister laugh sent shivers down one’s spine.
Jian Xi yelled, "Si Yuhuan, don’t worry about me..."
BANG!
The cell phone was smashed violently.
Si Yuhuan shouted into the phone, "Jian Xi? Where are you?"
Only a beeping sound came from the other end.
Damn it! Si Yuhuan immediately called for Yan Qing.
"Assemble our men immediately!"
Shang Fu also hurried over, nodding. "Yes!"
"What the hell are Chen Hua and Xinxin playing at, not even a whisper from them!" Yan Qing couldn’t help but complain.
Si Yuhuan’s face darkened.
He shouldn’t have fully trusted these ambitious wolves.
He had miscalculated!
「.....」
Seething, Si Junyan looked at the phone Jian Xi had smashed on the ground and furiously raised his arm.
Before he could act, Jian Xi slapped him hard across the face.
SLAP!
The crisp slap echoed loudly in the empty warehouse.
"Jian Xi! You’re courting death!"
Cold, murderous intent flared in Si Junyan’s eyes.
Jian Xi scoffed. "Kill me, and you won’t live either! You keep talking about us dying together, taking each other down, but you’re calculating every step. First, you became the Sect Leader of the Secret Gate’s confidant, wielding great power and managing to escape death time and again. Then, you tried to kill Xinxin to become the heir. You’ve planned every single thing meticulously. Someone like you, who fears death and craves power and wealth—how could you ever seek death so easily?"
His thoughts exposed, Si Junyan flew into a rage out of shame and anger. "Jian Xi, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have become what I am today!"
"Without me, you would still have become what you are today!" Jian Xi mocked his shamelessness. How can someone push all the blame onto others and absolve himself so completely?
"All because you fell in love with someone you shouldn’t have! Si Junyan, you’re doomed!"
Reborn, she now understood and saw everything clearly.
"You don’t pursue the one you like; instead, you sneak around making petty moves? What kind of man are you? Calling yourself a protector? That’s a joke! You were used repeatedly and never wised up. That’s your own stupidity! You can’t blame anyone else!"
"Si Junyan, do you know what’s truly disgusting about you?"
Jian Xi scolded him mercilessly. "All for a woman! You disregarded family, relatives, and friends, even basic decency and shame. Your extremism led you to this wretched state today. Don’t you dare try to sling mud at us!"
Jian Xi’s every word was like a sharp knife, stabbing viciously into Si Junyan’s heart.
He was enraged.
"Jian Xi, I’ll kill you!"
Si Junyan charged at her, but Jian Xi reacted quickly, grabbing a brick from the ground to defend herself.
Si Junyan dodged, his fury escalating. Jian Xi was like a slippery eel! She had actually learned martial arts. He couldn’t get his hands on her for the moment!
Jian Xi seized the opportunity to escape.
Who would have thought the psychological techniques taught by the therapist Si Yuhuan hired for her would actually work so well at provoking someone’s true nature?
Si Junyan blurted out, "After I kill you, I’ll make sure your body is placed beside your son’s."
"Oh! Then I should thank you!"
Si Junyan laughed out of anger, gritting his teeth. "When the time comes, in some godforsaken place, I’ll make sure you rot on top of your son! Then you, mother and son, can meet in hell!"
With nowhere left to run, Jian Xi squeezed into a bare room with only walls and a single window. Leaning against the wall, she fought to suppress her anxiety, striving to keep her expression calm.
Si Junyan laughed wildly. "Run! Weren’t you quite fierce just now?"
"I’m tired. I don’t feel like running anymore," Jian Xi said, flicking a stray lock of hair from her forehead.
Her calm and nonchalant attitude made Si Junyan hesitate for a moment. "What other tricks do you have up your sleeve?"
"Of course! Otherwise, why would I have fought with you for so long? Do I look like I’m crazy?"
Jian Xi’s red lips curved into a slight smile as she shifted her body almost imperceptibly.
A red laser dot appeared on Si Junyan’s forehead.
Si Junyan froze, his pupils contracting as he stared wide-eyed.
"Don’t move. Otherwise, my man will blow your brains out with a single shot. The game is over!"
"Si Junyan, my son. Hand him over."
Si Junyan clenched the sharp knife in his hand tightly.
"Jian Xi, this is China! China! You dare bring a gun here?" he exclaimed in disbelief, his mind reeled.
Jian Xi smiled. "It’s not me pointing a gun at you; it’s people from Z Group. Don’t worry, I don’t care about their lives. If they die, they die. They won’t rat me out. You’ve spent many days in the Secret Gate. You should know the rules of these shadow organizations better than I do, shouldn’t you?"
Si Junyan clenched his fists tighter and took a deep breath. "Fine, I’ll hand your son over to you."
"Hurry up!"
It was this tiny movement that revealed the infrared laser pointer in Jian Xi’s hand.
Si Junyan snatched it away.
Looking at the infrared laser pointer in his hand, he laughed derisively.
"Great! Jian Xi, trying to scare me with this toy? Who would dare to conduct a shooting in broad daylight in strictly governed China? You really take me for a fool!"
Si Junyan grabbed Jian Xi’s throat, his hand tightening with immense force.
"You’re asking to die!"
Jian Xi felt as if she couldn’t breathe at all.
Her neck felt like it was about to snap.
She couldn’t draw any oxygen into her lungs.
At this moment, she suddenly recalled how Si Yuhuan had also choked her several times, threatening her life. But the strength of his grip was nowhere near as strong as Si Junyan’s now; he really wanted to kill her!
THUD!
Si Junyan was kicked, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Si Yuhuan swiftly scooped Jian Xi up from the ground and slashed viciously at Si Junyan’s wrist, giving him no chance to draw his gun.
The gun clattered to the ground, and Jian Xi quickly kicked it away.
The two coordinated seamlessly.
They gave Si Junyan no chance to react.
Only when they had reached a safe distance did Jian Xi gasp for breath. "You finally made it! Any later, and I would have been a goner."
Si Yuhuan frowned. "Are you hurt?"
Thank goodness he arrived in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
"I’m fine!" Jian Xi replied, her composure more steadfast and graceful with each ordeal she faced.
Si Yuhuan lifted his chin. He advanced on Si Junyan step by step, his eyes cold and devoid of emotion. "Surrender. Hand over the child, and I can turn you over to the police."
"Hahaha! That’s the best joke I’ve heard in my life! What, you think I’d survive in prison?"
Si Junyan pointed at himself. "Even if I die, I won’t go to a hellhole like that!"
"Then go die!"
Si Yuhuan lunged forward, kicking and punching Si Junyan relentlessly.
He was like an enraged lion, eyes burning crimson, each blow precise and powerful as he pummeled Si Junyan.
Si Junyan, beaten and rolling on the ground, still taunted defiantly, "Si Yuhuan! Attacking me from behind? What kind of man are you?"
"With scum like you, why would I need to show any courtesy?"
