Chapter 356 - 354: Kick Him to Death Already

Chapter 356: Chapter 354: Kick Him to Death Already

"Hey! How can Fifth Brother just spout nonsense like that? Losing a child is a serious matter, and the first person you looked for wasn’t your husband but Si Yuhuan. Doesn’t that prove that deep down you trust him?"

Jian Yanjun’s words hit the nail on the head.

Jian Xi’s lips twitched; she was suddenly unsure of what to say.

She really hadn’t considered this before. It’s likely that Wan Yu and Huang Ying had noticed something long ago. They probably didn’t say anything to avoid hurting her pride. Fifth Brother, however, is fearless...

Could it be that I subconsciously trust Si Yuhuan? Absolutely not!

She frowned. "Fifth Brother..."

"I looked for Si Yuhuan entirely because this incident, stemming from his Si Family’s affairs, affected me and my child. He has to take responsibility!"

"Oh! So responsible that you ended up living together."

Jian Xi was rendered speechless.

Fifth Brother’s words were really going to be the death of her.

Jian Xi pushed him out. "What do you know! I’m doing this to save my child; I can’t afford to fuss over trivialities."

"And him? He risked life and limb for you, and that’s not even his child!" Jian Yanjun was pushed to the doorway. Just as Jian Xi was about to slam the door, he held it open with his hand. "Xixi, he really is a trustworthy man. Your Fifth Brother approves of him."

SLAM!

Jian Xi slammed the door shut.

Jian Yanjun touched his nose. That girl, getting flustered out of embarrassment! She nearly caught my nose in the door. Ah, a grown daughter is indeed hard to keep at home.

Jian Xi had just closed the door when Si Yuhuan, who had been hiding under the bed, stood up without her noticing. Before she could react, he moved close, wrapped his arms around her slender waist, and rested his head against her forehead. He spoke softly, "I never realized you had such deep feelings for me. If Fifth Brother hadn’t pointed it out, I would have remained clueless."

"Bastard, get your paws off me!"

Si Yuhuan’s hand climbed higher, squeezing her soft flesh. "Don’t you really want me?"

"I’ll give you what you deserve!"

OOMPH!

Jian Xi kicked out.

Si Yuhuan clutched his lower body, doubling over like a cooked shrimp.

"Yan Qing! Yan Qing!" he yelled.

Jian Xi clapped a hand over his mouth. "Shut up!"

"Xixi, are you trying to end my family line?"

PTOOEY! PTOOEY! PTOOEY!

"Don’t say such things! Mingming and Qianqian are perfectly fine."

"Your children and grandchildren will surely live long, healthy lives," Jian Xi said, her nervous demeanor making Si Yuhuan suspicious.

Jian Xi immediately glared back. "Haven’t you heard the saying, ’Misfortune should not extend to one’s family’? If you’re crippled, you’re crippled. Don’t drag others into your nonsense. Besides, you deserve it!"

She noticed fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

"Does it really hurt that much?"

She looked skeptically at the afflicted area. "So fragile."

"You—" Si Yuhuan was speechless. He was going to die of anger!

"Sorry."

For Mingming’s sake, an apology is fine!

Jian Xi helped him sit on the edge of the bed. "You can’t shout like that! If Fifth Brother finds out..."

I won’t be able to clear my name even if I jump into the Yellow River!

The moment Si Yuhuan heard this, he walked straight to the door, flung it open, and yelled outside, "It hurts so much! Help me!"

Jian Xi strode over, pulled Si Yuhuan back, and slammed the door shut again.

She pointed at Si Yuhuan, threatening, "Try yelling one more time! I’ll kick you till you shatter!"

"I won’t yell anymore."

This woman is quite fierce, Si Yuhuan thought, snorting coldly as he sat at the foot of the bed. "I can’t move now."

"And so, you’re planning to stay in my room tonight, is that it?" Jian Xi finished his unspoken thought.

"So clever." Si Yuhuan’s lips curved. He lay on the bed, stretching his long legs. The muscles beneath his white shirt were well-defined, radiating a sense of power. His handsome features were as exquisite as if chiseled. Bathed in lamplight, his skin looked finer, smoother, and more radiant than a woman’s.

Jian Xi couldn’t help but swallow hard.

She was a normal woman with physical desires. His teasing just now had already made her heart flutter, and now he was like a legendary beauty capable of toppling nations, utterly bewitching.

"Get out," Jian Xi ordered, not looking at him.

Si Yuhuan propped his head with his arm and watched her. "If I go out now, your fifth brother will definitely see me. Then, when you return to the Jian Family, you wouldn’t be able to clear your name even if you jumped into the Yellow River. Your parents are so against us being together; would they lock you up at home and never let you out?"

He continued, "Think about how terrible that would be. Isn’t it more practical to let me stay here for one night? I promise, I’ll leave at dawn, quietly, without anyone noticing."

"Fine. If you won’t leave, I will."

"If you leave, I’ll shout."

"Si Yuhuan, you’re shameless!" She’d never seen him act like this! Jian Xi was frustrated beyond words, powerless against him.

The man’s lips curled, clearly enjoying the moment. "If you kiss me once, I’ll leave right now."

"In your dreams!" she retorted.

Jian Xi walked over, threw a pillow onto the bed, and placed it horizontally between where they would lie. "If you dare cross this line, I’ll definitely kick you till you break!"

Si Yuhuan’s lips twitched. She wasn’t joking; she was dead serious!

They lay on the bed, the pillow a barrier between them, both staring at the ceiling.

"Jian Xi, do you still have any feelings for me at all?"

"No."

Jian Xi’s denial was too quick.

"Liar."

Jian Xi hesitated.

After a long pause, "No," she said, her voice heavy this time. Isn’t that sincere enough?

"Acting. Too fake."

Jian Xi was speechless again.

She lashed out with a kick.

Si Yuhuan’s hand, as strong as an iron shackle, clamped onto her ankle. His rough fingertips caressed her soft toes, sending an electric shiver through Jian Xi, making her tremble uncontrollably.

"If you want me, I’m yours for the taking."

"Si Yuhuan!" Jian Xi seethed.

He quickly released her foot and closed his eyes. "Sleep, sleep."

Si Yuhuan was in a good mood. Jian Xi had reacted to his teasing; that proved she still had feelings for him.

"I’m warning you, don’t you dare touch me again!"

Jian Xi felt like her heart was about to leap out of her chest.

She pressed a hand to her heart. What was wrong with her? She had firmly decided not to love him anymore. Why did she still get flustered and drawn to him the moment he so much as beckoned? Jian Xi, oh Jian Xi, you’re truly hopeless.

Somehow, Jian Xi went from being too anxious to sleep to falling into a very sound slumber.

When she woke up the next morning, she jolted awake.

Seeing herself curled up in Si Yuhuan’s arms, she sprang up, accidentally bumping his chin.

OUCH!

This woman, was she trying to inflict every possible injury on him in a single night? Still, enveloped in the faint, sweet fragrance from her body, he couldn’t help but feel his spirits lift.

"Um, nothing happened! You... you should leave, quickly!" Jian Xi was on the verge of tears.

Hadn’t she put a pillow between them? She’d even tried her best to sleep near the edge of the bed. How did they end up sleeping so close? And even embracing... If word got out, how suggestive it would sound!

"I’m afraid that’s not possible right now."

"Still not possible?" Jian Xi glared at him.

"It’s ten o’clock. Are you sure you want me to go downstairs now?"

He got out of bed, clutching his lower back.

Finding him an eyesore, Jian Xi kicked out at him again.
