Chapter 283: [Freedom Dove] - Nerio’s part (35)

Chapter 283: [Freedom Dove] - Nerio’s part (35)

A body the size of a human, jet black from head to toe, crisscrossed with glowing red lines that looked like veins flowing across its flesh.

Its form was covered in countless eyes and mouths, tongues writhing and dripping saliva. Two horns jutted upward from either side of its head, stabbing straight toward the sky, their tips blood-red.

Right down the center of its body ran a long slit, while spider-like legs twisted behind it, sharp and cold.

"What the hell is that supposed to be?!" Damian shouted. "That thing doesn’t match the dungeon’s concept at all! The birds were supposed to be the main boss!"

Bella couldn’t help but laugh. "Concept, really? You make it sound like we’re out here doing a photoshoot..."

Luis adjusted his glasses, his gaze sinking deep. At last, he suddenly said, "Luther?"

Hearing that, Bella stared at Luis in disbelief, then looked back at the sky. Her mouth fell open as she muttered, "If that thing is Luther... then all those people are already dead? What happened to him? Forget it, either way, we’re innocent..."

Standing to the side, Susan smiled, her voice hoarse: "We don’t need to worry about being blamed anymore. We can’t win."

Luis pushed his glasses again. "Saying that will only crush everyone’s morale."

Susan just chuckled softly and said nothing more.

At that moment, a thunderous sound suddenly roared out.

Building B collapsed instantly, followed by a piercing, wailing cry, a sound so sorrowful it seemed to shake the heavens.

A monster the size of Building B emerged.

Its form was identical to the previous creatures, except far more massive. And beneath its wings, countless pitch-black hands stretched outward, twisting and writhing—those same hands that had dragged them all into this world!

Chains of writhing black and crimson wrapped around its neck and wings, pulsing with a sickly glow.

The monster let out a scream, bright red liquid streaming from its eye sockets—blood-like tears.

"It’s... being controlled?" Bella whispered. She thought she must be seeing things. After all, how could sorrow appear on a monster’s face? That was absurd...

But no matter what, the battlefield had already been split in two.

Leonard spread his wings, shooting into the sky like an arrow.

Luther didn’t hesitate for an instant—his spider legs thrust outward, stabbing straight toward Leonard!

Leonard beat his wings, and the wind sliced through the spider’s legs like countless blades, metallic clangs echoing through the air.

"Nah nah nah, why are you in such a hurry?" Leonard squinted, and two voices rang out simultaneously: "Don’t worry, I won’t let you leave here alive."

With that, both sides erupted into chaotic battle. Sparks of red flared across the sky, black streaks flashing violently. They fought so fast and ferociously that it was almost impossible to follow their movements.

Below the ground, Susan waved her hand. "Nana and Sana, take Aria and get out of here."

Aria’s eyes widened alarmingly, but Nana and Sana didn’t argue. They grabbed Aria and immediately left the battlefield. Susan’s orders were absolute to them—there was no need for tears or a futile desire to stay and die.

Damian couldn’t help but chuckle. "Why don’t you let me go too? I’m feeling pretty tired myself..."

Susan gave him a gentle smile. "Don’t worry, you can still serve as a shield."

No sooner had she finished speaking than a blinding golden light enveloped them entirely.

Ron raised his hand. His face was drained of color, almost lifeless, yet a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Everyone... we have to win!"

Susan smiled at him. "Anyway, you’ll be the last one to die."

Ron: "..."

[Ha ha ha, this is brutal. Susan really is too much.]

[Feels like Ron might actually cry right here.]

[The outcome is already sealed.]

[Wait, was the signal glitching just now? I couldn’t see Luther’s livestream room at all. I thought he had died along with his companions.]

[And what kind of monster did he turn into? This dungeon doesn’t even have creatures like that!]

[Right, even a spider has wings, but he doesn’t!]

[Hold on, what’s happened to my Tom? He’s crying!]

[Building B has been destroyed. This has never happened before!]

[This is utter chaos. This is completely an uncharted scenario!]

[I was expecting a detective-style investigation, and now it’s turned into a showdown...]

[Does anyone else feel like Nerio caused Luther to become like this?]

[Come on, Nerio only directly pokes people to death. He’s not busy with stuff like this!]

[These people must be misunderstanding Nerio. He’s cruel, but cutely.]

[Cruel and cute? Clearly, it’s the fans who have issues.]

Everyone’s wounds healed to some extent after Ron used his ability.

Bella looked at Luis seriously. "Go stay with Ron."

Luis didn’t argue, only said softly, "Be careful."

Bella winked. "I’m a princess, you know."

Luis: "..." Conversations with Bella never go anywhere, but he nodded firmly. "Yes, you are a princess."

Bella beamed brightly, feeling completely recharged with energy!

The giant monster let out a deafening roar. The hands beneath its wings suddenly shot downward, aiming straight at Susan’s group.

Damian took the lead, standing in front to form a light dome.

The two forces clashed, powerful energies radiating outward in all directions.

The monster roared fiercely, while Susan slowly lifted her gaze and said, "Stand still."

Almost instantly after her words, the monster froze.

But then, the chains began to move! Susan’s eyes widened. Before she could react, fresh blood sprayed across her chest—her own blood. She coughed in pain and collapsed onto the ground.

"Susan!"

Damian bellowed. Susan lifted the corner of her lips toward them, lips barely moving.

I told you, we can’t win.

That thing... what is that thing?!

[What the hell is going on? Tom isn’t strong enough for that! I mean, he’s strong, but there’s no way he could instantly take down Susan like that, that’s way too easy!]

[Seems like those chains! What the hell are those chains? I’m sure Luther’s transformation is connected to them!]

[This scenario isn’t good... is humanity going to die? Are we going to lose?]

[Where’s Nerio?]

[Maybe Nerio was eliminated by whoever controls those chains, too.]

[Don’t get delusional.]

[Anyway, looks like humanity’s losing this time, ha ha ha, no need for Nerio to even step in.]

The monster’s huge hand rose, along with the hands beneath its wings, pressing heavily toward Damian’s protective dome.

Damian grunted, his knees buckling, cold sweat pouring from his head. No—he couldn’t lose! They could not lose!

"Bella!" Damian shouted. Bella—what was she doing? They were about to get crushed!
