Chapter 829: Reputation
At this point, even the members of the Eclipse Revenant, like Raze and Tundra, were actually getting more news in the chat.
Indeed, they got a better update from other Survivors about Shane’s progress on his Vampire Extremination Quest.
For some reason, Shane was too lazy to update them about his situation.
Still, they didn’t say too much and just read the various messages in the Chatboard as they were also enjoying this.
[ Sonia: Vampires didn’t even stand a chance. If he’s here, that means Sector 20 is the safest region now. ]
[ Levi: Yeah right, safest for him. For us, it just means the zombies and enemy Clans will come here first. ]
[ Mia: Shut it, Levi. Better near him than far. I’d rather fight under his shadow than rot in some basement. Lord Shane, please accept me! ]
Of course, even in the world chat, everyone was also impressed.
[ World Chat ]
[ Darius (Sector 3): HOLY… THAT RANK 1 DID IT AGAIN?! Just how is he getting all the good stuff? ]
[ Lena (Sector 9): He also had the highest kill count of Zombie Lords. I wonder what talents he has except for the Handsome Talent. I heard he had a lot of girls. ]
[ Viktor (Sector 14): Yeah. He only accepts pretty women in his Clan… Still, he already had the highest Zombie Lord kill, now a Vampire Lord?! That’s incredible. ]
[ Melissa (Sector 5): What even IS that fortress? Some alien tech? But why is there no notification from the System or World Chat that he eliminated the Vampire? ]
[ Travis ( Sector 13): True. I also found it weird. But I’m guessing it’s because the Vampire Lord is just another Survivor like us and not a Zombie Lord brought by the Apocalypse. As you all know, this is Zombie Apocalypse we entered… not Vampire Apocalypse or something. ]
This reply from Travis was immediately agreed upon by everyone.
[ Takuya (Sector 11): Is he really handsome? I didn’t see him up close in the Zombie Challenge Event the last time. Anyway, he must be sitting on tech beyond our understanding. ]
[ Fiona (Sector 1): Guys… He just bought it in the Auction Nexus. I forgot how much but it’s super expensive and also difficult to maintain. Who knows, it may only float in the sky for a day or two. It probably drains about 100 Zombie Cores per hour or something. ]
[ Melissa (Sector 5): If he has a fortress that flies, then it means he doesn’t need to fear zombies, vampires, or even other survivors on the ground. He can live in the skies. ]
[ Roman (Sector 12): But what about resources? Food, water, fuel? A floating base isn’t sustainable forever. ]
[ Lyle (Sector 7): You really think Rank 1 worries about food? His Clan is swimming in loot. ]
[ Jericho (Sector 19): This is insane. Maybe he’ll be able to clear this Apocalypse soon. It would be great if we don’t have to worry about Zombies anymore. ]
[ Arabelle (Sector 15): He’s basically a king already. “Lord Shane”… not just a nickname anymore. Still, please don’t end the Zombies, Lord Shane. I need to Level Up first! I’m not even done with my Ascension Quest! ]
[ Ethan (Sector 4): If he’s king, then what does that make the rest of us? Peasants? ]
[ Max (Sector 8): Bro, we’ve always been peasants. Don’t kid yourself. ]
[ Helena (Sector 17): …Do you think he’ll take in other Sectors? Like, let us migrate there? ]
[ Paolo (Sector 21): Ha! You think he’ll risk strangers sabotaging his fortress? No way. He’ll probably keep it tight with his trusted members. ]
[ Keira (Sector 2): Still… if he ever opens recruitment, I’ll sell everything just for a chance to join. ]
[ Rurik (Sector 13): Better pray he doesn’t see you as a liability. ]
This time, even Shane had opened the Chatboard as he was informed by the others about the witnesses of his Vampire Extermination Quest.
“Whoa~ I didn’t know there were a lot of people watching that.” Shane muttered as he was reminded once again that the Survivors here had many interesting Talents that made them survive the Zombie Apocalypse up until today.
Indeed, anyone who had survived till this day definitely had tricks up their sleeves. It was no wonder he didn’t notice anyone watching them.
He then turned to the Regional Chat as he wanted to know more what kind of information they obtained from him.
[ Glen: My Clan Leader said he saw the fortress moving east. It’s heading back to Eclipse Domain. There will probably a huge migration there in a few weeks. Who wouldn’t want a super safe shelter? ]
[ Franco: Eclipse Domain? That’s Shane’s Shelter, right? Damn, its name is already so intimidating. With fortress above, shelter below… That’s an absolute defense. ]
[ Bella: Do you think he’ll use that fortress to attack other Clans? ]
[ Andre: Honestly, he doesn’t need to. Just parking it above his shelter is enough deterrence. ]
[ Kian: You don’t get it. With that much firepower, he doesn’t even need diplomacy anymore. If someone pisses him off, he’ll just erase them. ]
[ Hazel: Well… at least he’s on OUR side. He’s against the Vampire… and the Zombies, right. ]
[ Dexter: “Our side”? Don’t flatter yourself. We’re just ants standing near a god. ]
[ Monica: Ants or not, I’ll take safety over pride any day. He’s not a maniac anyway. Maybe if it was Lancelot who got that Floating Fortress, it would be different. ]
[ Dexter: Hey, Monica… Are you an idiot! ]
[ Monica: Oh shit. How to delete my last message? That was a mistake. ]
[ Monica: I just thought that Lord Lancelot would have a better use of it. He’s the best after all. ]
[ Dexter: You’re just digging your own grave. Just stop talking. ]
Shane read the message as well, and he couldn’t help but shake his head.
It seemed that Lancelot’s reputation was a lot worse than he thought.
Well, he was aware of how Lancelot treated Reylin from the Blood Talon Clan when it was still Rank 23 before joining his Clan.
Now that some others were also looking so afraid of him, he finally had an idea about how Lancelot was viewed by others.
‘With the Alliance he created… I wonder what he’s thinking now…’ Shane mused as he also knew about Lancelot’s ambition.
