Chapter 839: The New Event
The system notifications had definitely surprised everyone...
Nonetheless, the system wasn’t done yet.
[ Additional Details: ]
[ 1. Every Sector will undergo "Blood Surge," where all zombies gain increased attributes, speed, and aggression. ]
[ 2. Zombie Lords will occasionally leave their domains to hunt freely. Certain rare variants, unseen until now, may also appear. ]
[ 3. Defeating unique enemies during the Red Night may grant Special Relics, powerful items exchangeable for special rewards after the event. ]
[ 4. The Zombie Wave mechanic will be in effect. Hordes will appear dynamically and seek out shelters. Survivors may choose to defend or abandon territory. ]
[ 5. Contribution Points will be calculated based on: Zombies defeated, Bosses slain, Territory defended, and Survivors protected. ]
[ 6. Rewards:
- All participants who endure until the end will receive a Red Night Survivor’s Title.
- Top 100 contributors will receive Event Crystals exchangeable for rare gear or talents.
- Top 10 Clans will be ranked globally and given Immortal Flame Banners, a symbol of prestige, granting buffs to all members.
- The 1st-ranked Clan will receive an Eternal Shelter Core, allowing permanent upgrade of one base into a Super Shelter.
[ Reminder: The Red Night begins in 72 hours. Prepare wisely, Survivors. ]
"This..." Shane sat on his chair for some time.
He couldn’t help but read the message carefully since this event was new. It seemed similar to the Zombie Wave Event, but it had some differences.
The fact that there would be a red moon, which would increase the strength of Zombies, was already quite terrifying.
After all, the Zombies in the Wave Event all had normal strength.
’Only 72 hours preparation?’ Shane frowned as it was just too short.
He couldn’t help but feel curious about the reaction of other Survivors, so he swiftly opened the Chat.
[ Devon (Sector 4): What the hell was that notification?! Triple zombie activity for 48 hours?! ]
[ Myla (Sector 7): Red Night? Is this a joke? How are we supposed to survive waves like that? ]
[ Leon (Sector 2): "Zombie Lords leaving their domains"... does that mean they’ll wander freely? That’s insane. ]
[ Omar (Sector 6): 72 hours isn’t enough time to prepare. My defenses aren’t even half ready. ]
[ Sasha (Sector 10): "Special Relics"? Great, so the system dangles shiny rewards while we all get slaughtered. ]
[ Zane (Sector 13): Calm down. This is just like the first Zombie Wave event, only bigger. Organize, don’t panic. ]
[ Hana (Sector 5): Bigger?! That one nearly wiped us out! ]
[ Takuya (Sector 11): What about smaller shelters? We don’t even have enough high-levels to defend one wall. ]
[ Elliot (Sector 16): The Blood Surge buff is no joke. If zombies move faster, our snipers won’t be able to pick them cleanly. We’re already struggling against Lurker and Hunter Zombies. IF they moved even faster, that would be our end. ]
[ Travis (Sector 17): Buy traps in the Marketplace. We’re selling special traps for only 30 Zombie Cores each. They’re called Wire Trip. Search for it in the market. ]
[ Takuya (Sector 11): Wow... Travis. I remember you’re at Sector 13 just yesterday. You move so fast. ]
[ Khalid (Sector 22): Forget sniping. If Lord-class zombies roam freely, most shelters are finished. ]
[ Peter (Sector 6): Contribution Points, rankings, Eternal Shelter Core... damn, this is a power grab event. Whoever takes first place will dominate the whole apocalypse. ]
[ Sebastian (Sector 20): Yeah. Top 10 Clans get buffs, but the #1 will literally have a Super Shelter. That changes everything. ]
[ Isla (Sector 18): My people can’t even hit level 50. How the hell do we compete with Shane, Natalie, or those top clans? Can we even survive this event? So unfair. ]
[ Franz (Sector 8): This isn’t about winning. For most of us, it’s about surviving 48 hours in hell. It was not mentioned, but maybe the size of the horde that will attack your base will depend on your strength. Don’t give up. ]
[ Isla (Sector 18): Ha? So what if it was not balanced? We’re dead. We have to find a way to escape if necessary. ]
[ Omar (Sector 6): He’s right. Rewards mean nothing if you don’t live till dawn. ]
[ Devon (Sector 4): Anyone want to form temporary alliances? My gates will most likely be destroyed a three or so Tyrant Zombies. A horde would be impossible. ]
[ Devon (Sector 4): Lord Master of All Shane? Can you bring our Clan to the sky with your Floating Fortress? I am willing to pay 300 Zombie Cores for each member of my Clan. ]
[ Myla (Sector 7): Same. We’ll die if we don’t band together. Lord Shane? I’m your humble servant. We are willing to pay 500 Zombie Cores for each seat in your Floating Fortress. ]
Shane couldn’t help but shake his head after reading the last part. He wasn’t sure if these guys were serious or not.
However, he couldn’t help but like the idea of getting a hundred or so people to pay him and get into the safety of his Floating Fortress.
"500 Zombie Cores for each bed doesn’t sound that bad." Shane muttered to himself. If he accepted 100 people and asked for that price, that would be 50,000 Zombie Cores for only 48 hours!
Killing 50,000 Zombies to get that many cores wasn’t easy at all.
"Hmm... I’ll think about it." Shane mused.
Anyway, the Regional Chat was also the same... Everyone was worried about this new event.
[ Glen: Did everyone get the system notice? Red Night... 48 hours of nonstop hordes. ]
[ Franco: Yeah, and Zombie Lords leaving their nests? That’s a death sentence. ]
[ Bella: My Clan only had 2 barricade lines. We can’t endure two full nights. ]
[ Raze: You should consider visiting a stronger shelter if that’s the case... However, with this event, it will be very expensive now. ]
[ Andre: If hordes spawn dynamically, it means nowhere is safe. Not villages, not even the woods. ]
[ Kian: Shelter destruction during this event is guaranteed. The weak will be erased. ]
[ Hazel: Don’t say that! There has to be a way. ]
[ Monica: You’re right. Shane’s shelter can stare down Zombie Lords and live. ]
